  1. Fascinating thread! I have been reading several threads about cutbacks on Celebrity, from in room movies to tote bags, etc. It seems to me that if no one is using the mini bar, not buying items and having an empty mini fridge would be a great way Celebrity could save money!!! People who wanted a stocked mini bar could always request it.
  2. Thank you all for the replies, especially vtcruising! I am planning for a June 2021 Western Med cruise - hopefully one or both will still be in the Med. I have not seen the Europe 2021 cruise itineraries yet but I am keeping an eye out. I am going on a Royal Caribbean cruise with friends June 2020 - has already been books for a month now. I have my own cabin and even with the single supplement, got a great deal! We shall see what the prices and the itinerary will be for Mediterranean 2021. I still believe if you have a single cabin for single occupancy, close to 200% should NOT be charged...unless the rational is that the once the single cabins sell out, they open regular cabins for single occupancy. Then the close to 200% would make sense.
  3. finny2, I hope you are able to get your preferred dinning time. I am sad at a few of the responses to you that indicated '"well, if you don't like Celebrity, cruise on another line". In this case, many cruise lines are leaving traditional seating times and many customers prefer it. Celebrity should adjust to the demand.
  4. WOW!!! Totally didn't realize that it was that much!!!!!!!! Very ironic - to have single cabins yet still charge a double occupancy. Just came back from looking at Celebrity's web page. This section of text is taken from their article on solo cruisers... Celebrity Edge has staterooms designed that are just for passengers taking a solo cruise. These single occupancy staterooms are interior rooms that offer a budget-friendly option for those traveling on their own, and can make for an excellent cruise deal. Not much of a budget friendly option...:-(
  5. I would like to book a cruise on either the Apex or the Edge. I will be sailing as a solo cruiser and I appreciate that these ships have single cabins. On NCL, there is zero single supplement for the single occupancy cabins. Does it work that way for Celebrity? Also, does anyone have any idea when the cruise dates for 2021 come out? Thanks! Cat
