If I'm understanding correctly, you ended up paying what you originally were seeing when you first started looking? If so, I fail to see how you've been impacted in a negative manner. Sure, Princess (as does most all cruise lines) "plays" with excursion pricing...it's just simple supply and demand at work. Frustrating? Yes...but that's just the way it works.
Your cruise sounds amazing! I hope you have a great time!
I agree.

Getting them at the port is super easy. That's one of the reasons I don't spend $10 to have them shipped.

I can't remember. Am I correct that the one qr code in my name is for both my husband & myself? Thanks..

They're not mandatory. You can remove them. But I never have, never will. I don't tip extra, but I leave the automatic daily grats in place.

Food is so very subjective. My husband & I often have different opinions of food on the ship. I like it all, he's picky. I like the buffet. He doesn't.. As others have said take the cruise & decide for yourself. Enjoy the ports. Don't let food, good or bad, be the focus. 😊

We received mail today that as members of Texas Farm Bureau we can receive up to 60% discount on several cruiselines, including Princess. We've been members for 3 yrs & this is the 1st I've heard of this. I've emailed my cvp to look into it. Just wondering if anyone else knows anything about this. Tia. 😊

Is steak available in the mdr under the always available items? Tia.

We've cruised the BI several times. The answer is formal nights are what you want them to be. Some dress ultra formal, some smart casual, some very relaxed. There will be tuxes & gowns, nice jeans, & everything in between. My DH wears slacks, collared polo shirt, a sport coat if it's chilly. I wear slacks & dressy top. We travel with carryon only so no room for formal wear. We've never, ever had a problem.

Thanks. I'm still not quite understanding. Are these people employed by Princess? Or are they more like independent travel agents?
They are Princess employees.

It would have been charged when you ordered it.
Thank you. 😊

$15 per person per day, half of that if you're platinum/elite.
Thanks. Was it charged to my cc at time of purchase, meaning it will.be refunded, or was the charge to be added when we boarded? I can't remember how it's done.

I had to cancel an Oct. cruise yesterday. I had added the wifi pkg a few months ago just before the price increased, but I can't remember if it was charged to our credit card at that time. Just wanting to know the total amount of refund to look for. Tia.

We're using the Princess transfer. $64 pp.

In the old app there was Journey View which allowed us to see each day's activities in upcoming cruises. I don't see it in the new app. Is it there & I just don't know where to look? Tia.
-
Same here. We want to add our daughter & sil as our companions like we did on the old app. I was told we have to wait until we're onboard, unlike the old app where they could be added well before the cruise.

My DH & I get free wine tasting on our cruises. If DH doesn't want to attend can our daughter go in his place?
-
When I get to the payment part of the booking process I'm asked if I wish to use our obc. I booked several this week.

The arcade is nowhere near Gigis on Discovery.
Arcade is deck 6 forward.
Gigis is deck 7 midship.
Lol. I was talking about a pizza place in Cleburne, TX, not Gigi's. But I do appreciate the info. 😊

I wonder if there will be noise from the arcade. We had lunch at pizza place last week. They have a wall of arcade games & the noise was was pretty unpleasant.

We were waitlisted for an excursion in NYC a few yrs ago. I don't remember how long it took but we were notified we were on that excursion eventually. More recently our daughter & sil were waitlisted for an excursion to Stonehenge & Salisbury. I think 2 weeks or so later they were notified they are now on that excursion. Hope it works out for you. 😊

What if you were on excursion in Japan or Singapore or other country where tipping is not the custom, if not officially frowned upon, would you still follow Princess' recommendations?
I suggest you travel internationally. When you do, you see how crazy (your word) the American tipping thing is. It's a gratuity, not a service charge. Large, small or none, it's your choice.
This American totally agrees with you.

Yes that does help, thank you. I think it's quite difficult for some cruisers from a tipping culture to understand just how uncomfortable tipping is from those of us from a non-tipping culture. As far as I can see, having already paid the automatic gratuities, why would I pay someone extra for doing their job?
Thanks again
PS - is your other half called Alistair???
This American agrees whole heartedly with you.

In Oct. we fly into Quebec from Dallas to begin Canada/Colonial America cruise. Does Canada require anything other than a passport to enter their country? We began a cruise in Vancover in 2021 & had to jump through a bunch of hopps, but most were covid related. I'm hoping things are easier now. Tia. 😊
Candle or no candle on cake
in Princess Cruises

Will our piece of anniversary celebration cake in the mdr have a candle on it? An old post from 2020 showed a candle. A recent post said her husband did not have a candle on his birthday cake due to fire hazard. Just curious what to expect. Tia. 😊
