I had emailed Stefano and they won't budge on their minimums. Because we are getting close, I went ahead and booked ship's excursions. Not my favorite choice, but at least Pompeii was still available.
Hopefully, we can all blame this on the end of the season. Maybe we will have short lines and small crowds.
Hope to bump into you on the ship. 👍

I would absolutely bring a costume and dress up for Halloween!
I am fairly sure there will be a Halloween party. I've done a couple of Halloween cruises on MSC in the Mediterranean, and both times there were decorations and a party in the atrium. A few passengers wore Halloween costumes - perhaps one in 10 passengers - which probably reflects the fact that Halloween is a more low key event in Europe (compared to US).
We will be on the World Europa in Messina, Italy this Halloween and I thought that Halloween was big in Italy (never been there). We were planning on bringing costumes but don't want to bother if there aren't going to be a lot of people doing the same thing.
We were on a Halloween cruise 5 years ago on the Celebrity Equinox with Captain Kate and had a blast. She even dressed as a vampire on Halloween night. We handed out loads of candy along with cash tips and the crew really seemed to appreciate it.
Can anyone add to the Halloween on MSC in Europe part of this thread?
Thanks,

We board Meraviglia on Sunday, I will try the QR code and report back. Since it is MSC, I’ll also take a backup copy, just in case!
^This is the way.
I received my QR code today via the app. I'm not taking any chances.

Thanks, JamieLogical.
Our first order of business is a good cup of real, made to order, coffee as soon as we get up. I didn't know if I had to travel a long distance to a specialty venue to get this.

Is there a spot in YC that does fresh coffee, cappuccino, etc?
Thanks

Absolutely, thanks. That will work out for all of us.👍

I'll send them a note, as well.

I have been emailing back and forth with Stefano via info@ItalyTours.EU.
You can tell them that you want to be on the same tour as Bradley and Kathleen.
That would be great !!!

I am currently looking into a day trip/boat charter around Valetta with Aquaholic Boat Charters, really keen to see some small fishing villages and caves and the Blue Grotto etc so hopefully we can find some additional people to join us if that's your thing. I have attached what they sent in the quote.
Looks like fun, for sure, but we already have an excursion lined up for Malta. It's through the cruise ship as there didn't seem to be much else. Small boat tour with a wine tasting. Anything with a boat and I'm in 👍

Hello out there.
My wife and I will be on the World Europa from Barcelona on October 27, 2023. I have reached out to Italy Tours (www.italytours.eu) that are very highly recommended on Cruise Critic. * Touring with a personal English speaking driver-guide
* Flexible and accommodating service
* High quality and personal experience in a semi-private/small-group setting (6-8 people)

Cayman1, if you don't mind, I will ask a piggyback question as it does fit your post title.
I printed out my cruise pdf file yesterday, but I could not access the boarding pass. How many days prior to sailing can I access that? We sale on October 27, 0223.

Will be glad to.

This will work for us as we are staying an extra day before we fly out. This will give us some time for our hotel room to be ready. This seems to be one advantage of the hop-on hop-off cruise. Other lines must zero out the entire ship before letting anyone else board.

There was another recent thread that stated you can exit your cabin, leave your luggage with Y/C and stay in Y/C for a few hours. Of course, confirmation would be appreciated.

Now that the World Europa has settled into her European itinerary and people have had a chance to sail on her with this itinerary, I would like to start a "Pro Tip" thread so that I, and others, can take advantage of the experiences provided by prior sailors. I would like to keep this to the ship itself and not necessarily the destinations unless a particular destination, or the entire itinerary, has a pro tip regarding the ship. I thought about this when the thread concerning an overflow Yacht Club restaurant was posted due to the apparent lack of seating in the Y/C restaurant. That was great information, and a "pro tip".
I know that a lot of venues, systems, and procedures are on all MSC ships, but maybe some veteran MSC cruisers can point out what is different on the World Europa.
We will be sailing on the World Europa, in Y/C on October 27th, 2023, out of Barcelona, for my wife's 60th birthday. This will be our 15th or so cruise. I can't remember and used to laugh at those that couldn't remember. First time in Europe.
Thanks for any input. 🙂

I can confirm this by information a friend provided, who currently is on the ship. The place used to be the "la brasserie" buffet restaurant on deck 19. So it is on the other side of the ship of the top sail lounge.
The reason is not to try out new or more casual ways of presenting dinner. It is simply because too many people complained about the waiting time at the yacht club restaurant. And the waiting time apparently is due to the bad design of the ship. There are way more guests in the yacht club than on older ships and at the same time the YC restaurant does not hold significantly more people.
Thank you. That seems to be a logical explanation for this. We usually eat early (6-6:30PM). If Europeans tend to eat later, then I am hoping for a less crowded dinner. Otherwise, I will have to get on the list prior to when I actually want to eat.

Very interested to see any updates on this.
Thanks.

Thanks B_A_H,
This is the report that I have been waiting for. We are booked on the October 27th cruise out of Barcelona. We will be in the YC. First time in Europe. First time on MSC. Bunch of cruises under our belt. It's my wife's 60th Birthday and we will be celebrating it and Halloween on the World Europa.
Thanks for the Barcelona airport "Pro Tip". Keep them coming.
