Yes, I have seen that on many sailings even for odyssey that op is booking. Maybe they are doing a holiday week
Yes, it is a holiday week.
We wound up taking the gamble and did GTY to save the $. We will see what happens!

@yogimax The Central Park Balcony I mentioned was for our last cruise we took on Harmony, not the one I am looking for with Odyssey 🙂
-
Also - When do they assign the room? Is it a wait-and-see until the last minute situation?
-
It is $600 difference. CP balcony that we booked last time was $700 less than standard so it was worth it to us. But it wasn't obstructed..

Hello,
We were thinking of booking on Odyssey next time and are considering letting RC choose our room to save some $. We would choose Balcony category-- but my question is, what are the chances they would give us an obstructed balcony room? To my understanding those are their own category, but I do not see a category provided when I choose to allow them to book our room.
We usually choose our own, and prefer a higher deck but decided we will be happy with a lower deck for the money saved. Last cruise we had a Central Park room to save some $ and it was acceptable. So, we are not super duper picky, but don't really want obstructed, however.
Any idea? Thank you!

Royal usually carries Cline OVZ.
I believe I've also had Bogle Old Vine Zin. onboard!

Hi!
We were going to book Maya Chan while in Costa Maya but it is now sold out, unfortunately.
Any recommendations that are similar to Maya Chan? It seemed like Maya Chan was very nice, limited access, is kept up and had attentive owners/servers.
We are bummed.. but hopefully you guys have recommendations of similar places for a relaxing beach day that includes drinks, food, activities, and nice surroundings? Thanks :)

Oh, I see.
Do we have to get a taxi to the ferry terminal, and then go to Blue Lagoon on the ferry?
I assume if we book through RCL they arrange the taxi?
But if we were on our own, it is easy enough to get a taxi to the ferry terminal, correct?

Hi!
I found the Sea Lion Encounter directly through Blue Lagoon Island but it says if we are with a certain cruise line we have to book with them.
It's $40 more pp with the cruise line (with the current discount they're running). Do they actually know the difference if we book directly?
Is transportation an issue? The cruise one notes taking a ferry there, but I assume you can take that either way to get there and back?
Royal's description page doesn't even say it includes transportation to the ferry terminal, so I am confused.
Thanks!

I just discovered the Drink. Dine. Discover. perk for CP balconies by looking at the cruise anew. We booked one and it wasn't listed with our details when booking. We are on Allure in May.
I also don't see it in our reservation anywhere. Someone above mentioned having a link to book the free restaurant portion but I don't see a link for that, either.
Am I missing something? Or do we somehow not get this package that everyone else in CP or BW seem to get?

Did he call Club Royale at 888-561-2234 or did he just speak to someone at RCI, who may not have any info on the tournament?
From my experience, Poker, BJ & Slot tournaments are held in the afternoon on sea days and have never seen or heard of tournaments being held during dinner times.
Thanks for the info! I will have to ask him who he called. I am not sure!
-
One thing to confirm is that you all have the same dining. Linking won't be allowed unless all bookings have the same dining.
Yep! We have to verify that again I guess. We kept having them change that, too. But it keeps changing back it seems. Frustrating!

Hello,
We received the email stating we can get OBC for booking specialty dining. 3 gets 20%, 4 gets 25%, 5 gets 30%, Plus 20% if you book one for the first night.
Is this per state room, or per person?
Meaning, if we book 3 specialty dining reservations, for 2 people, does it count as 3 reservations for 20%, or would it be 6 reservations, so we get 30%?
It isn't very clear anywhere I've been reading.
TIA.

Our friends booked by calling RCCL. We booked online. We have a heck of a time linking them because of that. We have had them link them about 3 times now and they still don't show as linked online.
I don't have the option to modify or link anything via the suggestions above.

Anyone have info, or know how we can find out the schedule for the poker tournament on the Dec 5th Oasis sailing?
Our friend is in it, and we are trying to plan our cruise, to include dining experiences. We just aren't sure if the tournament will be during dinner times and thus, he may not be able to attend with us.
He tried calling RCCL and they couldn't tell him much. He believes the tournaments are only on sea days... but that's all he heard. And may not even be accurate.

Figures... our OOS for December has a price drop but it's past Final Payment.
Congrats to all that were able to get adjustments! :)
-
Wow.. I just checked the price for 24 bottles for our upcoming December cruise on the Oasis and it is $82 for 24 bottles. I guess they just jacked the price up?
When we bought the package on ship last year it was $70-something dollars. Expensive, but we loved having water at our disposal because we realized that we totally forget to drink water on cruises. We normally drink a lot in general so this allows us to do so. I don't like the taste of ship water that much.
-
Oh, really? So we have to ask for permission to open the balcony divider? That sounds like a pain. Do you know why they wouldn't allow it? I guess I could submit a special request ahead of time..

Hello, we are booked on Oasis of the Seas with friends of ours. We have booked connecting rooms on deck 11; I think because they wanted to make sure we were able to open up our balconies to hang out together.
Question is: Do all balconies have the option of opening up together even if the room is not connecting?
Right now our rooms have a connecting door, which is not really necessary if the balconies can open up to each other regardless.
I feel like having a connecting door may provide less privacy. We are really good friends, but still. :)
Thanks!

Thank you for your review and I was so happy to read that you liked it. I was really interested in it because we're sailing her 10/4 and this will be our first time of the Freedom. We're really excited about our upcoming cruise. We'll be on deck 9 too and from what I've heard, it is quiet.
10/4 on Freedom? We are 10/5 on Freedom.. how can that be.... Do they pick up at a different port the day before and go to Port Canaveral?
-
Glad I checked here. The packages changed since I last looked after we booked. If water is not included, then I will not be doing a package. The water is what made me feel it was "worth it", and I could get my money's worth. Instead I will buy a bottle water package and pay al a carte for drinks.

Hi
First time on RCL in a while, going on Allure in August. Looking at drink packages and wondering if it is worth the cost.
How much are frozen cocktails? Drink of the day- $6.75. Others- anywhere from $7-$10 or $11?
How much are beer? My experience- generally about $4.50
How much is water? Not sure!
We have two adjoining cabins and wondering if we can buy a different package for me and hubbie.
Also, is there a time line on when you can get your next drink. Just thinking I will be getting bottles of water and then may want a cocktail. How do they monitor it and are they closely watching it?
Any help is much appreciated!!
Thanks
Please see the red above.

Who told you Mimosa's weren't included in the premium drink package?
I had read it on here on a few posts. Some had said their friend ordered a glass of champagne and an OJ, and a separate glass and put them together.
Maybe that was part of the outdated package before they made changes?

Off-Ship Excursions in Nassau, Aruba and Curacao: Can we, and recommendations?
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted · Edited by chicy724
Hello,
We typically do a mixture of RCI excursions and off-ship excursions. This was pre-pandemic... this is our first cruise since it all started.
Is it recommended, or not recommended to book excursions that are not RCI sponsored at this time? Are we allowed to in Nassau, Bahamas, Oranjestad, Aruba and Willemstad, Curacao? We are vaxxed, of course, and have no children.
If off-ship excursions are allowed, we would be using one of the well-known agencies like Viator, Shore Excursions Group or Shore Excursioneer.
Have any of you been to these ports recently and done off-ship excursions?
Nassau is a change from our original itinerary, so we are a little bummed since we've already been there and the current excursion options are ones we have done or aren't really interested in. This is another reason for seeking off-ship excursions!
Thank you! 🙂
