  1. Hi Swetra :)

Currently so far, the new unlimited internet (limited trial) program has been rolled out

aboard the Dream, Glory & Magic. Also the Breeze, however it was removed from the

Breeze due to inability to supply decent speeds with the high demand.

The prices for the unlimited internet (limited trial) I located for the Dream, Glory and

Magic via a Google search (Carnival Unlimited Internet) are:

    Basic Plan:

$39.99 - Flat rate for the entire cruise

Limited to one mobile device & the internet cafe

    High Speed Plan::

$99.99 - Flat rate for the entire cruise

$29.99 - Flat rate per day

Speed up to 50x faster than Basic Plan

Regular fleetwide info & pricing can be found at:

    https://www.goccl.com/~/media/Files/Irman/bookccl/shipboard_knowledge/INT_WIR.htm

I hope that helps you some, have a great day!

    :)

Thanks very much for the detailed information. :)

  2. Oh and yes, you are correct in that these e-gift cards are different from the "cruise cash" you purchase on the Carnival website, since that kind of "cruise cash" has to be used on that specific sailing.

These e-gift cards from the Verizon program can be used on any sailings or combination thereof until you've used there total value.

I do not work for Verizon or Carnival. I was just sharing a good deal I came across as a Verizon customer and I took advantage of it myself. :)

If anyone has questions on how to use the Carnival electronic gift cards, you can call Carnival directly. I've simply shared how I bought them on this Verizon program and have used them. I know a lot others have already done the same. Good luck everyone! :)

  3. I have used credit card points multiple times to purchase the certificates for Carnival. I used to have to redeem points, and they'd mail me two $100 certificates which I then had to fill out with my booking number and mail to Carnival. They could only be used to pay on an existing balance.

Now, I could still purchase these, but instead, I can just redeem the same number of points as cash back. I do that and then make a payment using my credit card, and use the cash to pay the credit card fee. That way, I earn points again.

These eCards are NOT the same thing. Not at all. And the Gift Cards are not the same as the Cruise Cash (or whatever it is called).

The restrictions are clearly stated on Carnival's website (for both the gift cards and the cruise cash).

Anyway, since I just booked ANOTHER cruise today (did not use eGift cards for the deposit), I need to figure out what cards to use to pay what (11/1 sailing final payment due soon, 11/29 due a month later, onboard spending accounts to consider for both, receiving casino cash on both). Isn't it nice to have these 'problems'? :p

You're correct, these e-cards are not the same are your certificates you're getting with your credit card points. I don't have the Carnival credit card so I can't speak to how those points work but it sounds like you've go that system down to a science. :) Very nice to have several options.

This is what it says on the actual e-gift cards I received that I purchased on the Verizon program:

Carnival Gift Cards can be used on almost anything: towards the purchase of a Carnival cruise, activities/shore excursions, and redeemed onboard toward the Sail & Sign account for gifts, drinks, and fun.

    Redemption Instructions:

To redeem towards the purchase of a Carnival cruise, call 1-800-Carnival or book online at http://www.carnival.com.

To redeem towards activities/shore excursions or onboard gifts, drinks and fun, print and bring this e-card to the Guest Services Desk on board your cruise ship so it can be credited towards your Sail & Sign account.

I have already used several to pay towards a booking and am taking some on the ship with me for my S&S account. These cards look and can be used the same as the ones I bought directly on the Carnival website back in June and have since used in the same way.

As I've already mentioned in previous posts, the cruise certificates that are available to purchase through this Verizon program (or dollars or whatever they're called- LOL), do have restrictions that are listed on the Verizon website and I'm not familiar with how they work, that's why I'm just using the e-gift cards myself. :)

  4. This got me thinking about some points that I had built up on my credit card. I looked and they had carnival certificates!

I was reading the terms and conditions and noticed this:

This certificate may not be used to pay for the initial deposit, any government fees, taxes, onboard gratuities, games of chance and or any similar activities as determined by Carnival.

I was calculating how much I would need for my gratuities, excursions, ect and was going to buy that much, plus $100. But reading that, it seems like I can't? :(

Not sure if the Verizion thing has the same limitations

The Carnival cruise dollars (certificates) from the Verizon program have some restrictions that the Carnival e-gift cards from the Verizon program do not. That's why I posted about the e-gift cards since I knew they will be easier to use. That's what I bought and used for my booking already. :)

  5. Thank you so much for this tip! Every little bit helps!:D

    Rebecca

    Your welcome. I agree. :)

After you purchase how soon are e-cards available for use? Immediately need ours this week.

Yes, they can be used immediately but I had to call in to Carnival directly to apply the cards towards my booking. I think maybe because I bought mine on a Sunday, the CCL website was having trouble taking the numbers, the Carnival customer service person on the phone didn't have any trouble with them at all. They processed them as payment for my booking the same day I bought them from the Verizon program.

  6. For those that bought these, was the payment processed by Verizon or carnival? It would be a double bonus if I could earn 2x points buying these.

I paid for my e-gift cards with my debit/credit card. My bank account shows the payment for the e-gift cards was processed by Verizon Smart Rewards.

Ok so how do u use them on board? Just like any other gift card? Can it be used for the casino? Drinks? How does it work for excursions?

The e-gift cards I bought using Verizon's program are Carnival e-gift cards and can be used accordingly. I used some of mine to pay off a booking and am bringing the others on board to use on my S&S account.

  7. I have to pay off my balance by the end of August, so I bought $1300 worth yesterday! I called the toll-free number because I was wondering if there was a limit that you can apply to one transaction. You can use 10 at a time. So I just applied 10 gift cards to my balance and paid off the remaining $79 with a credit card.

And now I have $300 worth for onboard goodies.

Thanks again Swetra for posting the tip. :)

Wow, good for you! Glad you could benefit from the deal. :)

  8. Where did you find the digital ones? When I went in to look at them and purchase, I saw mail only with a shipping fee. Do you pick digital when you go in to actually purchase? I prefer instant gratification and hate to wait for things like this in the mail. I hate the idea of them getting lost.

To the OP, thanks for sharing. Its about time I get something for paying all that money for my 5 cellphones ;)

Once you click on gift cards, then click on Carnival- look for the 2 gift card options that say in the black little box at the top each card advertised, "e-gift card available". Then, during check out, you choose email as delivery method. Hope this helps. :)

  9. I was a long-time Verizon wireless user and switched to T-Mobile a few years ago. Long story. Anyway, I just switched back. ;)

Thanks for the heads-up. I have a hold on a cruise and was going to use some of the gift cards I bought in June for the deposit. Nice to know I can purchase some more and get another 10% card, since I'll now have 2 cruises on which I can use the promo cards (assuming they expire 1 year from purchase, like the ones bought in June).

Through the Verizon program, you don't get an 'extra card', you do get a 10% discount on the purchase of the electronic gift card by using some of your Verizon Smart Rewards points. For example, you can buy a $100 gift card for just $90.

Also, The Carnival electronic gift cards I bought through the Verizon program don't expire.

  10. Thank you for posting this, I had no idea! If I purchase the e-gift cards, how do I apply them to my sign and sail account? Do I have to wait until we are onboard to do that?

You can use them to pay towards your new or existing booking or you can take them with you on board the ship and apply to your S&S account. I'm doing both myself. :) I bought some and paid off a booking, and bought some more to take on the ship to cover my gratuities and some photos.

  11. Sweet! Thanks for the heads up! I was looking at these points the other day and hadn't really seen anything I was interested in at the time. Now I know! :)

So if I buy 10, I can apply that $1000 to my final payment due, and get a $100 freebie, correct?

No freebie, that's how the CCL promo worked back in June.

This one is a 10% discount promotion. Using some of your Verizon Smart Rewards points, you can buy $1,000 worth of the Carnival electronic gift cards for just $900. Then apply the $1,000 toward payment of your booking. :)

  12. Be careful of signing up for that rewards program please.

If you read what you were signing up for, you noticed that it also signed you up for Verizon Selects. That gave them permission to troll through your web browsing on both that computer and your smart phone in order to send you personally targeted advertising.

Giving up that much information to my phone company just doesn't sit right with me.

From what I read, you can contact them afterwards to opt out of that part of the program. You can discontinue participating in that portion of the program or set your preferences at any time by visiting http://www.vzw.com/VerizonSelects.

  13. Tracey.....Thanks so much but I have already made arrangements with

someone else to send me one.

I appreciate your offer and I am very jealous of your list of past and future

cruises. I hope to be so blessed as you some day!!! :)

    Thanks again,

    Karen

    No problem Karen.

I'm trying like heck to reach Diamond status by the time I turn 50. LOL, I don't have that much longer and I hate to miss a personal goal! :)

  14. I just tried to enter my e-card#s as payment for one of our cruises but the website wouldn't take them yet, which is kind of normal for digital cards unless you wait a day for them to go through the system. I was a little anxious so I just called Carnival directly and they processed them for me with no problem and sent me a confirmation of my payment for my booking as well. :)

So.... If you can't get the e-cards to process as payment as quickly as you'd like on the CCL website just call Carnival directly and they can do it for you. :D
