  1. If we fly into San Juan to catch the ship back to Port Canaveral, and we buy some rum, would we be allowed to bring it on board like other ports of call, or would it be take like when you first board the ship and not allowed? We are thinking about doing the return part of the cruise from San Juan back to Port Canaveral in Dec.

  2. Thanks- am looking for something similar---are you able to provide his website- I googled but only found Tony's taxis and tours - with Tony Dublin not Tony Lewis - anyone ever hear of Tony Dublin?

    mailto:tonys_taxi@outlook.com

This is his e-mail. He was always good about getting back to me with any questions.

  3. What did Tony charge for his tour? I'm looking at using his services. Also is his vehicle air conditioned?

Yes it was a newer van, and had a good air conditioner. Charged 45.00 each, for the 4 of us.

  4. I will let you know, we board this Saturday, we are mid ship, deck 7, balcony. I will report back specifically on this issue from our perspective ;).

We were mid deck 8 balcony 8275 and noticed little vibration, but we noticed it more on the lower decks, 3,4,5,6, Like I stated, I hope we caught it at a bad time, it had nothing to do with the waves, When it was entering ports and slowed it was not noticeable. Hope you have a great time. I'm not one to complain, I go on vacation to relax, it did not spoil our vacation, but I just wanted to let people know they might notice some vibrations, nothing more

  5. Thanks for posting this. I've been considering a tour but want to do specific things and have lunch in Grand Case. I checked his website and it appears that his tours might meet my needs. Which tour did you do? How many people were there? Where did you stop for lunch/food? Thanks.

We did not stop for lunch per say, but the stops that we did do had lots of areas to eat. There were 4 of us but he could have handled everyone in our group of 11, of course unlike some of the others, the more you have the cheaper the price. We talked back an forth with e-mails and told him what we wanted to see and do, and that's what he set up. At the time we booked with him he did not have his web sit up and running. His name was Tony Lewis. Any other questions that I can answer I will be happy to.

  6. Glad to hear that you loved the ship, herself.:D

Food is always so subjective. :o

We are looking at the Liberty for June, out of San Juan.

    She always gets rave reviews.:D

    Thanks for posting your opinion!!!!!

The ship is one of the most beautiful we have seen, and the service was great, and I agree about the food being subjective. But everyone was talking about the vibrations. Hope they figure out the problem, it was like the pitch of the props were incorrect and not in sync.

You will love the ship, and the service.

  7. We got off the Liberty yesterday, and I will say that I was a little let down. There were 11 of us and we all had the same concerns. Now let me say the Ship is Beautiful, and the staff and crew were wonderful.

It was the constant vibration the whole 7 days which was more noticeable in some parts of the ship then others. Like something out of balance.

Then the food did not seem up to part. Guys Burgers was good, and fast service, Fish & Chips was good, a little greasy, but it's fried right. I'm talking about the Main Dinning Room and the buffet.

There is something lost by having the same menu every night (except the port of call section). It was fun when you received the menu and you opened it up to see what you could order. We noticed that there were a lot of empty spaces every night and some at our table only ate in the MDR once. I think the American Table is a bust, they need to rethink it. Then the buffet seemed it had the same offerings every day. I have to be gluten free, and there was not a single day that I could go thru the buffet.

I have read others post about the food, and I know to each his own as far as taste, so I hope it was just bad timing on my part.

Other then that it was a fun vacation.

  8. A couple of weeks ago I had asked if any one had used Tony's Taxi, for a tour and no one had. Well we decided to try our luck and go for it so we booked a tour with him. He meet us at the time (Island time, ship time was an hour behind) we had agreed upon at the pier as promised. His Taxi was clean, and the punch was wonderful. He took us off the beaten path where sometimes we were the only ones there and took us to the "popular sites as well. An older lady with us was feeling a little sick and he stopped and bought her some crackers to help settler her stomach, and refused any payment from her. He gave us a history lesson of the Island, and answered any questions that we had. I would use him again.

So if anyone was interested if there was someone else to book a tour with, there is

    Anthony Lewis, tonys_taxi@outlook.com

Don't know if I'm allowed to put the email, so if I'm not I'm sorry.

  9. Call Carnival now and be honest with them. I know someone that did move a cruise because of a family death with no issues. They did have another cruise known to switch to but I think they would have held the money for a future cruise.

BTW, sorry to hear about the family problem and good luck to them with their family

Will be on the Liberty on the 13, Thanks for your input,

  10. Need some information. We will be leaving to go on a cruise on Dec. 13, and a couple going with us has a problem. They have placed her sister in the hospital, and she may not make it.( No they did not get insurance, first time out of 8 cruises that they did not) I know that a refund is out of the question, but has any one had any luck getting the payment transferred or held for another cruise.

    Thanks.

  11. We have just summited our first request and we received a replay that it has been approved. My question, will it show up on the cruise documents with your other credits. Ours has not been added yet, still showing the same amount of OBC .

    Thanks, Jim

  12. We have a cruise in Dec. with a stop in St. Martin. We also have a large group, that was thinking about a tour. We checked out the most popular ones that people use, but at 45 to 50 each, a family of 5 has a hard time coming up with that much money. I know that they would be great to use, but its out of our league.

I found a man by the name of Anthony Lewis, that has one that he said he would work with us on what we wanted to do and see, and his prices were a lot better. Have not used him, so we will be going in blind. His email is tonys_taxi@outlook.com

When are you going? If we go before you, I will post as to how it was.

    Jim

  13. This will be our first cruise and I have researched but can not find the answer. If I booked during the cruise week special if the fare drops do I get on board credit. I received 50% off deposit and 50 obc through the sale. Thank you in advance.

I will try to answer the best I can. If you booked Early Saver, then there would be a good chance, that you would be able to get the price drop, but here comes the down side. If I'm correct if you do apply and receive the drop, then it puts you in another "booking", you would still be Early Saver, but you would lose the 50% off deposit and pay the whole deposit, and may lose the 50 obc. We just received a price drop for our cruise in Dec. and received a 70 dollar obc for the room under early saver, and had a couple of people that had the 50% deposit, and they had to pay the rest. We were told if we had another price drop, it would need to be more then 70. cause it would put us under a different booking and the room credit would go away. Maybe someone else may have the correct answer if I'm wrong. If you booked thru carnival, you can call and ask to make sure.

    Maybe this helps.

  14. We have a group of 10-12 adults and looking for a good tour to go on. Thinking about sightseeing, going to watch the jets at the beach and a good snorkel beach (would really like to see colorful fish). Any suggestions?

We are there from 9:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. so we have quite a bit of time too. :)

Have the same problem you have. There are 11 of us and all the tours that they talk about is 40 to 50 per person. For some of the family's it would cost 250.00, and they just cant afford that. I found a man that offers it for 25.00 per person for 11 people.

  15. Platinum doesn't mean "entitled". If it weren't for the employees, I'm sure you wouldn't be a Carnival Platinum member. Cut them some slack.

    Me

I'm not Platinum, I'm Gold, and have been to Half Moon 3 times and have always been able to find a Hammock at the end of the cabana's. Sounds to me this person is complaining, about the very same thing they were going to do, be the first to the hammocks. What about the ones who get off later because they are not "Platinum" they would have the same complaint, "I never get a hammock because all the Platinum's and Diamonds get there first" I like hammocks, but it will not spoil my time on Half Moon if I don't get one. Maybe a time limit needs to be in place as to how long someone can HOG the hammocks. I would stay around 30 to 40 min then let someone else enjoy it. It is a valid reason to be upset, but it is a "first come first serve"

  16. Thanks for all of the input. We had thought about just the notes, and also using the mailbox. We knew that the Dream had them, but did not know if the Liberty had them as well.

You're right some people can just be jerks, others will add a nice comment to add some fun, nothing wrong with that.

Will probably just make use of the mail box..

    Thanks,
