  1. With the exception of your ship getting in late, most times the ship is in by 7:00. Takes a little while to clear Customs, so I have seen as early as 7:15 to 7:45.

With self debarkation, depending on whether you are Platinum or Diamond, then FTTF and then self debarkation, you will all be off with in the first 1/2 hour after Customs clears the ship. Then they start calling decks by Zone numbers, 1 thru 30? With all passengers usually off by 10:30 latest.

ok thank you so much...we are FTTF; so do you think 9:00 us a good guess?

  2. Totally off topic but how did you like the pride? We are sailing the Dream summer 2018 but since we live in MD have been looking at the pride for a follow on since it sails out of MD. Also, would you take kids on the pride? We will be kidless on the Dream but will have kids the follow on (11 and 2 at the time) and are looking for a ship that will have plenty for them to do.[/quote

We absolutely loved the Pride! We are in eastern PA; so the port in Maryland was so convenient for us. It was an anniversary trip about 4 years back; so it was just me and hubby. We loved the size of the ship....not too big (we are not "mega ship" people) Its hard to say if the kiddos would like it, not having ours with us that trip. The kids club on carnival are good though and I am sure they are the same through out their fleet. Maybe just pick the itinerary you are interested in and go with that.

  3. We are sailing on the Glory Oct 28th on the Easter Caribbean Itinerary. I was considering buying a resort pass for the day and wondering if anyone had any suggestions. One seems to be Morning Star by Marriott. Or are we better off booking an excursion through Carnival to sapphire beach? It will be me, husband and our 9 year old son. I know we also need to consider the hurricane damage. Maybe the ship wont even stop here now. But we are 6 weeks away; so I don't know what to expect. Any thoughts/advice on planning for the stop (or not) will be greatly appreciated.

  4. FWIW, it's two per seven night cruise. What I did is scoured the web for past FunTimes for the same itinerary. What I found, at least for our upcoming cruise, is that they are generally on Sea Days, except if the Sea Day is the last full day of the cruise. We have a packed itinerary (four ports, so only two Sea Days, including the last full day of the cruise), so our second elegant night seems to generally be on the second to last night of the cruise, on a port day when we leave the port early (2PM).

Ok I'll get to work looking.....thank you

  5. My kids have done this each time we've stopped at Grand Turk and we've never signed up through Carnival. We always sign up when we get there and have never had a problem. The price is exactly the same as it is if you purchase through Carnival. (Well actually I haven't looked at what Carnival's charging lately.) It's $29 for basic which is belly, knees, and about an hour on Flow Rider. Then there's the $39 pkg that includes all of previous plus standing on board and doing tricks and allows more time.

    Thanks so much....:D

  6. Hi Everyone

We will be sailing on the Glory at the end of October. It will be me and my husband and our 9 year old son. Does anyone know if the kids club provides pagers to parents so they can contact them if the kids want to leave? How does this work? Also we were considering a 3 hour excursion in San Juan....walking tour and mixing drinks (probably not too much fun for our son, but the only one that isn't centered around him the whole trip) lol...so I was wondering if you can leave the kids on the ship to play? Can the camp counselors contact you if need be?

  7. Thank you....I am hoping to find someone who has done that particular excursion through Carnival to see how it was....Mainly because it is pretty much the same price as the rum tasting and mixology they have at the Bacardi Factory and we would have to get there on our own as well.

  8. We were there last March, and there were several vendors with various water activities. I remember a banana boat and giant tube being pulled behind boats, but I don't remember any jet skis. My girls actually tubed behind the boats for $20 a person.

    Thank you :)

  9. Been to Grand Turk twice - the best one was spent at the beach snorkeling. From the cruise pier, hang a left. Stop at the equipment shack and get snorkel gear. Walk up the beach until you get to Jack's Shack. If I remember, you can get two chairs and an umbrella for $10. There's a pier just beyond Jack's Shack -- that's where the fish hang out. It's not the greatest snorkeling, but the water is crystal clear and a lot of fish hang out under the pier. Since you are not on an excursion, you can spend as much time as you want.

I thought I saw a video of some water sports available on the beach....can you rent jet ski's or ride a bananna boat?

  10. The Rum Mixology & Salsa Classed on Carnivals Excursions site looks like so much fun! Has anyone done this before? Also I know you can save money booking outside of the cruise companies; so would anyone know how I could book this on my own?

  11. QLS Transportation will shuttle you from Ft Lauderdale to Miami for about $15 per person.

We have used them multiple times
