  1. I would pack in your checked luggage. We had a sound machine in a carryon bag at Pt. Canaveral to get on the Dream. It was this.

Security took it and said I could go to Guest Services and see about getting it back. I went to Guest Services the first night and they said they didn't know why it was confiscated, but they have the discretion to return it. It was delivered to my stateroom.

I'm just mentioning this to say that if something does get confiscated, I'm sure that you can go to Guest Services and explain the circumstances and they can make a determination.

Not sure what you are saying to pack into checked luggage, the CPAP? It's a medical device. I'm pretty sure they don't confiscate medical devices.

  2. Does Carnival allow power strips and extension cords to be brought on? We will be on the Dream leaving from Cape Canaveral in April. I have sleep apnea and use a breathing machine at night; from what I've been told there is only one outlet in the room and it's not near the bed. Also, we will need to charge electronics (cell phones, cameras, e-readers, etc). Anyone with personal experience in this?

    Thanks in advance!

  3. No, it does not end at 6am on debarkation day. I assumed it wouldn't cover debarkation day as well. However, my roommate thought otherwise so we clarified with guest services. We had mimosas and coffee liquor drinks at breakfast before debarking and were not charged anything additional.

ETA: This was on the Legend this past November

ETA2: Sorry for trying to help out with answering a question. I apparently have "problems" for drinking so early (insert eye roll here)

Please don't take offense to my earlier comment. It was meant as a joke. I'm a firm believer in "it's 5 o'clock somewhere"

  4. I understand basically how the program works. I know that you have to purchase the program by a certain day after leaving port and I know you have to pay for all the remaining days of the cruise after purchase. However, I need clarification on if you have to pay for the last day (debarkation day). For example, we are going on a 9 night/10 day cruise (the Dream repositioning). If I purchase the program on day 1, do I pay for 10 days (including debarkation) or 9 days (every day EXCEPT debarkation)?

  5. A slightly different question, do you have to be in a wheelchair or something similar to get to board with the handicap group? I shattered my foot a couples years back and have bad arthritis in the foot joints and ankle. I don't use a wheelchair, but due to difficulty walking long distances/ standing for long time periods my doctor signed off for me a handicap placard. I have a wallet card that states I am handicapped. Will that suffice?
