  1. We went on the Jewel in 2011 when the Nickelodeon at Sea was offered on the Jewel and my daughter, who was 5 at the time, enjoyed it. We enjoyed the Nick themed shows, art and crafts, activities, dance parties and the meet and greets. We met several characters, Dora, Diego, Sponge Bob & Patrick, Fairly Odd Parents and a few other characters, can't recall their names. I think it was great. We are going on the Breakaway this October and again the Nick theme is on the ship. My daughter is a little excited but what I think Nick/NCL should do it have it geared towards the older kids who watch shows on Nick with actual humans and not cartoon characters. I know NCL and Nickelodeon used to prompt the Nickelodeon All Access Cruise aboard the Epic and it had characters from iCarly and Victorious on board. Kids were able to hang out with them. What ever happened to that? I would love it if they could do that aboard some of the NCL ships! Wishful thinking...I kow! ;)

  2. Hey guys, NCL replied to a comment on their FB Page:

Norwegian Cruise Line Hi Geri, we have introduced a new enhanced room service menu which is being tested on board Norwegian Getaway and Norwegian Breakaway. The new menu offers an expanded selection for breakfast in addition to a wider variety of options available on the 24 hour menu. Individual items on the menu remain available on a complimentary basis and a convenience charge will be added to each order placed. As we test and refine this new room service menu the convenience charge will be $7.95 on Norwegian Breakaway and $4.95 on board Norwegian Getaway. Room service is one of up to 29 dining options offered across the fleet, and guests continue to be able to enjoy a wide array of complimentary choices onboard 24 hours a day. During the test room service across the balance of the fleet remains unchanged.

  3. We are going to Bermuda 10/4-10/11 leaving from NYC and staying for 3 days in port. I am not really nervous about the weather. I would be slightly disappointed if we did miss the port because I am looking forward to going to Bermuda.

It stinks that I can only take vacation during hurricane season but I rather be on a cruise then at work! :o

  4. We are traveling to Bermuda with my boyfriends 9 year old son on NCL in October. My boyfriend and his ex have joint custody of the boy with the agreement reading he has all final say on decisions regarding the boy and he resides with us. Do I need a consent to travel to Bermuda. Mom is going to buck us totally because she is mad over us suing her for support so she will refuse just to be an jerk. She is almost non existent and is living in another state. Not following the parenting plan and yada yada. I looked high and low to find an answer for this and can't please help me.

Heyyyy girl!! Since you're going on the same cruise as us in October and since I have similar issues with my daughter and we have done a cruise before, I can help you out. I don't want to put my personal business and all that fun stuff on the thread so if you would like to talk private, let me know.

  5. Hi All! So we have a cruise booked on the Breakaway 10/4/2015 (my birthday!!) & I am having weight loss surgery in a few weeks. I will be 10 months post op at the time of my cruise and will only be able to eat maybe an ounce of food and what I can eat would be very limited.

I know that my boyfriend would like to eat at some of the specialty restaurants aboard the ship and I would like to join him, but do you think they would charge me full price even though I would be barely eating anything?

I called NCL to inquire about this and the girl I spoke to gave me a firm NO! I didn't like her attitude much and she seemed like she couldn't care less about helping me out. Would this be something I would have to discuss with Guest Services when we board the ship?
