  1. Thank you very much for your input. The cruise line is Celebrity and I was offered from the TA 300 + 200 OBC (for the 2 cabins), and 200 USD OBC ffor the balcony cabin from Celebrity as part o the 123Go promo. I do realize that the TA perks will be accordingly adjusted. I was asking about the Celebrity offer; if it is lost or not and if lost if I am entitled to the new offer from Celebrity. Please let me explain that this is the first time I came across a price reduction (4th cruise now) that is why I am asking.

    Thank you

  2. Hi to all,

even though this is my 4th cruise, this is the 1st time I came across this "problem" (price decrease), so your expert opinion is kindly requested (apologies for the upcoming winded explanation).

I booked a cruise for July for 4 persons (2 cabins) and the online agent offered me OBC credit, plus the cruise company promo for the balcony cabin. Yesterday I noticed that the cruise price has dropped, and asked the agent about it, so he immediately adjusted the price (kudos to him) and the OBC he offered initially (a little less than the original OBC he offered) however the cruise company promo is also gone. I asked about it, and he said that since the price has decreased and he changed it, then the cruise company promo is also gone since the offer period for that promo has expired. There is a new promo out, however I am not entitled to it since it applies only to new bookings. Fair enough. Does not this mean that I should get to keep the old promo? It is not a matter of money really, I just like to ask if this makes sense, or have I been played by the agent?

    Thank you all

  3. Hi to all, we booked a cruise with Summit in July and was wondering if there is a Chef's table event we can book as with Princess. We tried it on a Princess Cruise and trust me it was worth every penny, so I would like to repeat it, but can not find such a thing on Celebrity site.

    Thank you

  4. Hi. thanks for the illuminating replies. I have used this TA for the first time due to the competitive price, and BBB rating plus the lack of negative reviews in the Internet. There was almost a 350 USD price difference for the same cabins. The reservation did appear in the cruise line at once. I got the feeling they are a bit understaffed though and a bit overworked, and when combined with my lack of expertise in such things, then the only thing left is to turn to the experts here at cruisecritic.

  5. Hi to all. In a previous thread I mentioned I booked a cruise to Bermuda for my family in the summer with Celebrity Summit.

CHECK question: I was offered a generous onboard credit by the cruise agent (online booking) besides the cruise line offer and when I asked how would I know this has been taken care of, the agent replied that it will appear in my financial statement when I board. I felt kind of embarrassed to further inquire on this (my first time receiving on board credit from an agent), so my question to you: how would you make sure that the agent delivered on his promise prior to boarding? (since it will be kind of late to correct it once on board). My online reservation shows the cruise line credit.

CORRECT question: When making the reservation the agent made 2 separate bookings, one for each cabin, and everything seems okay when logging in to the cruise line reservation system. My question: Would it be possible to make sure that the cruise line knows we are all together (the 4 of us) so as to put us in the same table for dining (2nd seating) every night?

Apologies for the long post, but please do forgive a newbie.

    Thank you,

  6. Thank you, thank you all. What a great group of people. Unforunately being from Cyprus, we will be in NY for a week and then on to the cruise. So the only 2 ports we can use are NY and NJ since we will need to catch the flight back home once the cruise is over. So, 2 cabins. Bermuda it is, since it suits my family likes. Celebrity in all probability because we are foodies as well, and not that much into swimming pools and jacuzzis and rock climbing.

    Thank you all once again

  7. Hi to all once again.

Based on your recommendations on a previous question, Bermuda was chosen for the July cruise. Now I will impose on you once again. We are a family of 4 (51, 44, 21, 16). We usually take 2 cabins opposite eachother ( balcony and inside) however this time I wanted to try a suite with some sort of basic separation between us and the daughters. The price difference is quite steep (almost 2500 USD) and was wondering if the difference is justified? What do the experienced cruisers think? I know it is personal choice, however when the kids where quite younger (much younger) we all travelled in a single balcony cabin and we quite enjoyed it - brough the whole family closer together. Now the kids are all grown up and the price difference is quite high. Any thoughts?

    Thank you

  8. Wow, a unanimous vote for Bermuda, and who am I to disagree. Travelled in the past with RCL, Princess and Carnival. RCL in my opinion was the best of the three. I believe Celebrity is next. I only have to do the logistics NJ port to JFK once we return from the port to see if there is enough time to catch the sad flight back home. Thanks to all great cruisers here. Your help is indeed overwhelming.

  9. Hi to all. We are a family of 4 (51, 45, 21, 16) and we will be in New York in July. We would very much like to spend a week in New York, and then take a cruise to either Bahamas or Bermuda or any other destination that offers a bit of sightseeing and lots of relaxation. No water sports, diving or such, just lazy days relaxing either on ship or at a beach. So, what would be you recommendation as far as destination is concerned between the two? Is there an alternate destination you might recommend (already been to the Caribbean).

Having in mind that once the cruise is over, we will go to JFK to take a plane back home, are there any other ports suitable to leave and return to if a destination is not available from the NY port?

    Thank you all,

    Andreas
