Karen?:
These US Americans, smh -
We rented a North Shore bungalow. Some are facing the ocean, all are steps from the shore. A world apart from resort stays. PM if interested.

To advise the poster of other options that perhaps haven't been considered. Not a judgment, just an option.
I see no suggested alternatives from many who've proclaimed their abhorrence for what others merely find functional and convenient.

Avoid disgusting smokers, and rat out anyone doing it where they shouldn't be.

In the pool, no where to fasten my card to my Speedos. Fortunately, it attaches nicely to one of my nipple rings.

Not sure why people feel the need to let us know they don't use a lanyard.
Lanyards are for for the tracksuit crowd.

We have some that we always bring. I've once tried one with a plastic holder, but I found it too much trouble, especially when trying to enter our cabin while carrying stuff. I've brought a small hole punch our last couple of cruises.

Chankanaab Beach Park is a nice, family friendly place to visit. A short Lyft or taxi ride.
Congrats on your first cruise. Enjoy!

Unless you're at very high elevations, needing a jacket outdoors in Hawaii at any time of year is the exception. I've been there several times throughout the year. I've only worn outerwear to keep dry, not warm.

You CAN have your cake and eat it, too.Whoa!, you'll get the best table in the MDR with that get up, possibly even a dinner with the Captain.Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

The definition ties tracksuit and "lower class", thus my statement on wealthy people who might not "appear" so to some. Whether or not they, or anyone, lacks "tastefulness" in their attire or appearance can often times be a gray area and a matter of opinion influenced by many factors. It has nothing to do with wealth or class...it has everything to do with taste. You can be comfy and casual and not look like you are heading out to the gym/some light Tennis. I am more casual than a lot of women I know but I make sure my wear is appropriate for the event. There is casual then there is sports wear...a big difference.I was simply trying to suggest comfy and casual alternatives rather than a tracksuit such as lightweight jeans, casual lightweight trousers, polo shirts, t-shirts, tasteful jumpers and so on for men.
I work with families and children from 40-50 different countries, some who rely on food banks weekly and have all sorts of going on in their home lives. I am not judgemental.
In the UK, people wont often shout 'chav' at someone. But they are more likely to mention it when they read about a tracksuited youth in the paper and say 'Oh this chav stole 3 cars' type of thing.

I'm just offering another perspective - that of maybe not judging others based on their attire, regardless of occasion.
Maybe it's different than the UK or wherever, but I know (or know of) some pretty wealthy people who dress far "less" than the part, whether it's a wedding or a trip to the market. It might be seen as the chav-equivalent by some who don't know any better. And based on my travels throughout the US, I think I live in a very diverse, tolerant area that probably has the least "protocol" when it comes to attire, at least very generally speaking. People do as they please, and others accept it. I can't imagine a dude here getting any blowback on a widespread scale like you describe for wanting to rock a tracksuit everyday.

I've clarified my post, or what I'm "advocating." Either you missed it or don't like it.The expression "So what" certainly does not indicate any advocacy of anything - if anything it suggests "who gives a damn?".So, back to your judgmental "condescending/stereotypical much" snipe.
And you've clarified yours - the self-appointed gatekeeper.

And, by the context of your post, that you advocate wearing track suits. So .... what?
I didn't think that was too difficult to infer either. I advocate not judging others by the clothes they wear. I was never taught that.
"So what?" What are you advocating? That you're the gatekeeper of content on these boards?

"Judging" by the context of the post, it's not difficult to infer his/her perspective.Nobody "tried" anything. I do not believe that either the poster or I agreed with the definition - the poster merely provided it - and then you jumped judgmental.Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Nice try. You can contend the poster may not agree with the definition. You and I will differ. You are reacting to a definition not a poster's statement.Judgmental much?

I cruised from SF to HI and back. Great time w/family but never again. I'll spend those two weeks on multiple islands. And POA? Please. I'm not flying there to get on a ship.
I'd be perfectly happy if the remaining vacations in my life were all spent on the islands only.

Ours have been on enough cruises and know the drill - be ready if we have plans on shore, and show up on time for dinner.

Not practical for a camera or similar size items, but I've seen people come out of the water and dig up zip lock bags containing a wallet, cell phone, etc. that were buried in the sand.

This. Wear a track suit, grass skirt, tutu, wife beater, whatever. Join hands and say a pre-meal prayer in your track suit, if you want. While you're at it, you might as well ask the maitre d to announce your arrival at your table.I would never wear a track suit in the MDR. Unlike some busybodies on these boards, I would not concern myself whatsoever with it if someone else chose to do so.I don't care and won't be sitting with you anyway since we don't dine with strangers. It won't affect my meal nor the time I enjoy with my family while on vacation.
