I think you will be on the Seattle round trip cruise on the Quantum.  If that is the case, then using your birth certificates are fine.  Please check them now and make sure that all of them are US gov't issued birth certificates (not hospital issued), and that everyone 16 yr old and older has a gov't issued photo ID (school IDs are fine).

You can get off the ship in Victoria, BC.

You can not take the train in Skagway that enters Canada.

    Enjoy your cruise.

Yes I know my birth certs are fine.  I was just wondering about Canada.  Thanks for taking the time to help me.

You can only use a birth certificate on a closed loop cruise and yes if it is closed loop, which means round trip from a US port, you can get off in Canada with only a BC. What you can’t do if the ship calls at Skagway is take some runs of the White Pass railway that cross into Canada by land.

Thank you, no plans on riding the train and possibly not going into Canada but was just curious.  Thanks for taking the time to answer

For the OP, having multiple cruises booked can become a severe addiction. I currently have 16 cruises booked on RCI and 3 more booked on Celebrity. I have friends who have significantly more cruises booked than I do. I think I have crossed the line from cruises being a vacation to cruises being a lifestyle.

    Awesome

That wont be me.  No time and not enough people to go with me. How aweso.e that you can. I would like to try celebrity sometime

  4. I am so excited, this isn't something that happens to me.  We are maybe a once a year type family.  I feel so lucky!  I know for some of you it is not uncommon but this doesn't happen to me. We are going on Quantum in June and Wonder in Dec.  I guess I'd better enjoy it while I can.

  5. I enjoyed my trip on the Mardi Gras.  To be fair it was much better then I expected.  I didn't really like the layout of the ship as I like older ships but it was beautifully decorated.  My issue with the Mardi Gras is the entertainment was terrible.  We saw several people walk out of the shows.  and the food was just ok.  All subjective just as pretty much everything in life.  I loved the entertainment on NCL ships, Choir of Man, Kinky Boots, and Jersey Boys among my favorites and Carnval doesn't even compare.  Go on the cruise.  I'm sure you will enjoy yourself.

you haven’t noticed them going downhill, and yet you’ve noticed that they’re cutting entertainment. did their entertainment cuts improve the entertainment? if not, is it not fair to say they’ve gone downhill?

No I have not noticed them going down hill.  Yes there is less entertainment but it is not worse entertainment, for me anyway.  I don't really mind the less entertainment I find plenty to do.

  7. Not a "loyalist" I guess, but prefer NCL.  I have not noticed NCL going down hill in any area really but I'm sure they are trying to cut costs like all lines.  Entertainment on NCL has always been amazing but was sad to see they are cutting.  As far as food.  It is the same to me as it has always been.  Times are tough all over I guess.

My DH laughs at me when I get super excited about the faux jewelry (read: cheap date) …like the 1 for $25 or 2 for $40 rings.  While I have very nice jewelry, I am too lazy to take it out of the safe.  And, I don’t like to travel with items that could be lost, stolen or left behind.  So these cheapies make me smile and remind me of different cruises.😊

Me too!  I see no reason to have expensive stuff.

Also, I don't think I'd pay the $$$$$ to buy jewelry on a ship.  If I had a problem it would be a pain in the $ss to take care of.  I can just go to the jewelry store in the town next to us and they sell anything I would want. If there is a problem I just make the 45 minute drive and it gets handled

@WeMissSeaView, is correct that the only passengers offered this service (checking in for a Royal cruise at SeaTac) were passengers who were using Royal's airport transfer to the pier.   Passengers needed to be completely checked in online, although I believe the airport check-in agent could upload a passenger's security photo, if needed.  Successfully checked-in airport transfer passengers were issued color coded wrist bands which allowed them to bypass lines at the cruise terminal, and basically walk on to the ship after going thru the security screening.

2023 was the first year that this was tried.  It was a test project to see if it could help eliminate some of the lines/congestion at Pier 91, especially around mid day.  It worked well enough that I would expect that it will be in place this 2024 season as well.

As for the OP, since you will be arriving the day before your cruise, this option will not be available to you.

Thanks. I didn't know how it worked for sure

  10. I was watching a video re: cruise out of Seattle on Quantum and they said they checked in at the airport.   We are on the June 3, 2024 sailing, if they do this next year can you check in even if you come in a day early or do you have to come in that day to do this?  A big thank you to those who have done this and are willing to help me figure this out.

  11. Can't speak on COCO Cay but I took a cruise on one of Carnivals ships a year ago.  I had said NEVER AGAIN,  But under a weird circumstances I went again.  I shocked myself by really liking the ship and have to say would go again.  The price was way cheaper so that was good too.  I may pick Carnival over Royal again.
