Find a different ship. As much as itinerary and price is important to me, I need to be able to enjoy my accommodations. Same as staying at a hotel.....regardless of where I'm visiting, I need a decent place to stay.

Thanks for the review. I rarely see anything about Victory on these boards. Looking forward to sailing her in January!

There's a Total Wine in the shopping center behind Embassy Suites. Some popular casual restaurants in the area are Southport Raw Bar, Kelly's Landing, Duffy's, Waxy O'Conners pub, Carrabas, Bravo, Quarterdeck. There are also lots of popular take-out type places with seating, like PeiWei, Chipotle, Shula Burger, Panera, Five Guys, Doughboys. Some places might be closed or close early. If Duffy's is open I'd eat there, as their food is pretty good if you want a really casual place. Waxy's might be a fun place to be if they are open.
Looks like a great selection! Thanks!

We are staying at the Embassy Suites New Year's Eve.....can anyone recommend some restaurants in the area? Nothing too fancy...just someplace good to eat and then we will bring in the new year back at the hotel. There is a Total Wine in the area, correct?
Thanks!

Well tomorrow is the day~~~!!!!!!!
Been waiting for this vacation for awhile!
Anybody been on this ship in the past couple weeks?
Any new info would be great!!
Thanks!!!
Have a great time! And please let us know how it went....I will be sailing on her in January...my first Carnival cruise :).

Our ship is scheduled to arrive in Cozumel at 1pm (Carnival Victory)....is it worth purchasing the AI? Seems like such a short period of time.

Interested in hearing about Victory as well....my boyfriend and I will be on the January 1st sailing. My first time on Carnival!

Glad this question was posted. I have a question as well....I'm a drinker but my boyfriend is not....do you think it's worth it for us to do the AI?

I can say that we had a balcony over looking central park and found it pretty quiet. That is to say they have music..like piano bar type music piped in through the evening. But it wasn't loud or anything. When your balcony door is closed you can't hear anything at all. Hopefully this answers your question.

Yes, it does...thanks so much!! Can't wait to board this marvel :)

Love this review, and your pics are AWESOME!!! I've already gone through them twice already :)
Quick question, not sure where your cabin was, but we have a inside balcony overlooking Central Park...did you find Central Park to be pretty quiet?
I missed the ship last week! Allure, at first port... what to expect...

Thanks so much for telling your story. Missing the ship has always been a fear of mine, which is why I always arrive back to the ship about 2 hours prior to departure...lol. I always travel with a passport but since reading your story I just made a photocopy of it and took a photo of it as well. Glad you were able to reunite with your family and sorry that had to go through this ordeal as well.
I actually stayed at the Melia this past January (ran a race in the Bahamas). Nice hotel and great location.
