  1. Thanks so much for telling your story. Missing the ship has always been a fear of mine, which is why I always arrive back to the ship about 2 hours prior to departure...lol. I always travel with a passport but since reading your story I just made a photocopy of it and took a photo of it as well. Glad you were able to reunite with your family and sorry that had to go through this ordeal as well.

I actually stayed at the Melia this past January (ran a race in the Bahamas). Nice hotel and great location.

  2. There's a Total Wine in the shopping center behind Embassy Suites. Some popular casual restaurants in the area are Southport Raw Bar, Kelly's Landing, Duffy's, Waxy O'Conners pub, Carrabas, Bravo, Quarterdeck. There are also lots of popular take-out type places with seating, like PeiWei, Chipotle, Shula Burger, Panera, Five Guys, Doughboys. Some places might be closed or close early. If Duffy's is open I'd eat there, as their food is pretty good if you want a really casual place. Waxy's might be a fun place to be if they are open.

Looks like a great selection! Thanks!

  3. I can say that we had a balcony over looking central park and found it pretty quiet. That is to say they have music..like piano bar type music piped in through the evening. But it wasn't loud or anything. When your balcony door is closed you can't hear anything at all. Hopefully this answers your question.
