I truly believe a lot of confusion led to this happening and probably too much paperwork.

The only real question is who is actually to blame and what to do now?

They did not have a passport for the child. They had his current Ethiopian passport with entry Visa.

 

Also, on the original blog, the family claims that the Child Citizenship Act of 2000 allows an adopted child’s foreign passport with US entry stamp to be used as proof of US citizenship. I looked it up. This is not true. In fact the CCA of 2000 simply states that the foreign passport with stamps (among other documents) is required to OBTAIN proof of citizenship such as a Certificate of Citizenship or passport.

After reading everything, I really think too much documentation confused the agent. Not saying it is right, but we are human and errors happen.

I do this advocates how important it is to get a US passport for adopted children as soon as you are eligible to do so.

I do hope Carnival makes it right though.

I suggest he books and see what happens. Worst comes to worst, it gets cancelled.

I'm not sure John H. has the power to remove someone from the banned list.

Doesnt seem like they have a reason to ban her for life.

See I think the same thing, so the only thing I can think of is she might have left a detail out? Could drugs have been involved (please note I am NOT saying she had drugs, it only takes one in the group to get everyone in trouble).

I am actually trying to think of what can get you banned for life. Drugs I can understand, I guess stealing, harassing a staff person?

It's a lot of fun and really interesting. The food and shows are great and you get to see a lot of people dressed up. You can even ride an elephant or camel!

I will miss the Pride here in Baltimore. We will only have Royal to chose from, because even though it is more expensive, it's still cheaper then going to FL.

It was my first cruise and our 3rd on it will be Oct 2014.

We hope it or another ship comes in eventually but who knows.

I do feel bad for the workers who may lose their jobs. Baltimore is not an easy place to find work.

My friend has a question that I am not sure on, so maybe others can help.

Can you still call and add OBC directly to your account or will that be done away with as well, since they did that through funship dollars?

so... if I have a carnival gift card can I use it at a bar like the drink card I used on Hal, or will I have to take it to front desk to come off my account?? thanks Cathy

My understanding is they can be added to your s&s since you can only use your s&s card on the ship.

If you load the gift card on your S&S, like I plan on doing, go to casino and draw from your sail and sign, then cash out to players bank, and voila! You got your money back!

I would think that too. Once it is applied to your s&s you can cash it out :)

The gift cards might be better then FSDs in the long run.

How much are they charging for shipping? I would most likely doing the e-card for myself. If I was to get some for friends and all, it would be nice to know if shipping costs anything.

I would say one reason could be the fear someone will ride the bike on the ship. I am NOT saying the OP is one of those people, just saying it could be a fear.

The drug smuggling is also a good reason as well.

There has to be some reason, because just saying it makes no sense. Let's be honest, they want to please people (or try to anyways).....so who knows why.
