  1. Offer seven 7 night itineraries--round-trip Bayonne to Bermuda--with earliest departure on 9 May and latest departure on 26 July

This does not fall well for me as I cant start my vacations until end of Sept, and nothing more than 7 days.  Wish Celebrity would replace the later shorter cruises.  I am not a fan of Royal, and this may now send me back to NCL.

  2. It's about 5 short blocks from the port exit. From the ship to the exit could be a few blocks depending on which berth you dock. Taking a cab can take you a bit out of the way along the back roads since it's in the opposite direction of the main roads.

Just follow the wharf along the water, there are benches along the way. Make a left at Senor Frogs around to the front of the building. The grounds and beach are close by, just off the lobby. I have a bum hip as well. I take it easy walking, and the weather helps considerably.

I plan on taking my sister in a wheelchair, do you think this is doable?

  3. Hello

My sister is disabled and will be sailing her first cruise. I am trying to help her as much as I can. Is there any transportation from the dock when we get off the ship in the Bahamas that can get us off the pier? I was planning on taking her to the British Hilton as this is close but I must get her there first?

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

  4. Hi

I will be staying in the Bahama's (getting off the ship ) and staying for a few days. I remember there was a party boat or party bus where they take you out and there is drinking etc. Is this still available? I will be off the ship and wanted to do this with my friends .

  5. I was very happy to sail on the Sunshine, Carnival did a wonderful job. We lucked out this week while others were unsure of their sailing to the Caribbean, Bermuda was beautiful. We did have rain the first day but that was it all other days was clear sailing. Leaving out of NYC was good (I never experience a problem) we waited a bit for the ship to clear, and was boarding in no time. We went up on deck for lunch, the buffet had a variety of items and all that I ate was very good. We did sit in back as there was more seating. While we were eating the announcement stated cabins were available. We dropped off our carry on and began exploring the ship. I had an inside spa cabin 11004, this was a nice inside cabin, quiet and close the the spa. We did a spa tour and while I always felt the spa prices were higher than what I would usually pay I decided the special seaweed wrap was something I wanted to do but never did. My husband chose the hot stone and bamboo. He loved it. What I had was one of the most enjoyable treatments I had in a long time. It was 2 hours and when I was done, I could barely walk alone and my body was so relaxed. I would do this again. Check it out!!! and no I didnt buy the items suggested but it was one of the best treatments. We had anytime dining, I chose this because we were traveling with my sister and brother in law and was unsure of what time they liked to eat dinner. When you have this, you must go on deck 5 and get a reservation. The first night was the only busy night, we decided to use the Italian Restaurant as we had a free night there. While I heard poor reviews, I will say I thought the food was very good, service was excellent. So we made a great choice. Every other night the line for dinner was no more than a 10 min wait. We did eat one night at the steak house, as we were celebrating birthdays, and anniversaries. The food and service was excellent. I love the lamb chops amazing!!!. While we are talking about food, I enjoyed every dinner, the food was good and so happy to see the cold soups still on the menu!!. The first day we got to Bermuda, we decided to stay on the ship, and enjoyed the sunshine and spa. The next day, we did a Carnival tour, I still do Carnival tours instead of private the price is a few dollars different and its worry free. We did the 5 hour tour of Bermuda. I enjoyed this, we had time to shop and our tour guide was excellent. The next day we were going to plan a beach day but due to ships needing to come in due to the storm that week we had to leave early so we didnt do the beach. I was ok with it as I know I will be back and now I know what I didnt see and what I want to see in the future. Bermuda was very nice, expensive but I dont shop and I eat on the ship. I was looking for knee socks for my two little grandsons as I love the Bermuda attire. I want to share with you that the ship did not feel crowded at all. I loved the ship and the crew was excellent. not sure why people say horrible things about this ship because I liked it. If you are looking for a ship that you can walk through and enjoy this is a mid size ship. I am not a huge mega ship where if you are on the aft, it takes a long walk to get to where you want to go. I would also like to share, the martini bar was excellent!!! I would do another cruise with Carnival on the Sunshine again and again. You will love the cruise but remember, you make your fun, it's your vacation so enjoy it.

  6. Hello

I am not new to Carnival but reading reviews of the Sunshine makes me very nervous, not for myself but for my brother and sister in law that I am cruising with. Is it really that bad? I dont usually believe the reviews but one after another review was bad. I am going to Bermuda Oct 1st and I just want this to be a nice cruise for my brother who had a kidney transplant and is his first vacation in 3 years.

    Anything positive please share

    Thanks

  7. Hello

On the Sunshine, I was told they show movies out on deck, my question is, my brother is deaf, and I am hoping they have the words below so he can enjoy the movie. he does not like to bring attention to himself but I dont know what to do to check into this. Any suggestions? We sail Oct 1st

    Thank You

What does the Sunshine have, I booked this cruise because of the spa cabine

  9. I just cant let this go, so unhappy that Carnival refuses to sail all year here. I heard it pros and cons but honestly, if they had a ship compared to the others (NCL and RCCL) people would sail her. I am booked on the Bermuda cruise in October, but would love to sail in Dec. and Jan. out of NY. I don't think Carnival gave NY time for people to sail her all year. Am I alone on this?

  10. Carnival sailed a ship year Winter time with the crappy FLA/Bahamas itinerary. They were doomed for failure. If they had sailed an itinerary similar to the current seasonal itinerary: i.e. 8 night to San Juan, St. Thomas and either Grand Turk or Nassau or HMC. They would have had a shot of competing with NCL Gem who sailed 9 days Winter cruises.

You are correct, because on both Breakway we will be doing Fla, and Bahama's and private Island that they dont always get to .

  11. Good Morning

Thank you for all your comments and i am just as confused as before I started this thread. Since I have purchase the 7 day specialty dinners on my cruise I am leaving for in 2 hours I will base it on the following.

    1 Good Service by all

2 Food was in served hot, cold or warm? was it good

I am normally a good tipper and I will just add a tip if the above is met. If not I will not add simple as that.

I do hope NCL makes it clearer to their customers on how this works on the 18%, tips etc.

I am going on a cruise, excited to be on the Breakaway.

Have a wonderful day and thank you for all the info!!!

    Warm Regards
