  1. I'm confused. You booked a spring break cruise, posted today, and booked an IGT which got upgraded to a balcony? There are no *GT bookings available for next March at this time. Is this a hoax?[/

Moki’smommy I was referring to our first Disney Fantasy Cruise in 2012 where we were upgraded to balcony room from an guaranteed inside stateroom.

  2. This will be our 2nd Disney Cruise on the Fantasy. We are staying at a hotel (with points) and driving to the port. Should I book parking at the port before we get there or are there plenty of spaces available during spring break? Also what is the earliest time we can get inside the terminal? I read somewhere that when we do our check in we will select a port arrival time. Is that true and will that determine our boarding time? So excited to be cruising DCL again. Would love the same fairy dust we had last time. Booked guaranteed inside state room but was given a balcony room next door to our BFF's!!!:hearteyes::hearteyes::hearteyes::hearteyes:

  3. I have read we cannot use the over the door (otd) shoe holder anymore on DCL. Is there somewhere in a standard inside cabin that I could hang this? We sailed the fantasy in 2012 and are sailing again in April. I don't remember what there is on the wall such as hooks I may could use to hang it. I have used my otd shoe holder for so much on all cruises. Just curious if I can still use it just not on doors. Anyone have ideas or pictures of how you took advantage of the small space in an interior room?

  4. I can't remember the room number but I can check when I get home to look at my seaspass (yes I still have mine:)). But I think it was 14315. There was a pullman bed and sofa bed (I slept on the pullman bed, very comfy). There was "obstructed" view which I really didn't understand why since we saw the ocean and the aqua theater fine....

Hello! Could you tell me where the pullman bed and sofa are located in room 14315? We were told it is an obstructed view but your comment said it wasn't. Do you have pictures? What is meant by obstructed? We are booking that room for a September 2017 cruise. If you have pictures and would not mind sharing, that would be great too.

  5. Just found out that our FOS 9/18 Eastern Caribbean cruise is sold out. Anyone sailed on a FOS cruise that was sold out? Does that mean that we will be wall to wall people on sea days? Will we be able to swim in the pools on those days? Can you give me some tips that will help on a very crowded ship? We are so ready to get away and have an awesome trip. We will make the best of whatever comes our way! Just looking forward to cruising with family and friends. ;)

  6. Freedom Fest was a little different from previous trips. All they had was a fruit carving demo and Kummelwreck sandwiches.

No photo of sandwiches, the beef was not rare at all. Big let down.

They were finally selling the 10 drink punch cards. $70 and it included the gratuity.

They may have been available earlier, but I never thought to ask.

I called RC this morning and they do offer this for most ships on most sailings. I will be on the 9/18 FOS and it will be available for that cruise. I can purchase it as soon as I get onboard. I am cancelling my premium drink package (because I don't drink enough to make it worth while) and doing this. Thanks for posting. I really enjoyed your review and pictures. Thanks for doing the review.

  7. We rented from some place when we got to the island. We negotiated price with them since we were renting 2 jeeps (one for us and one for our friends). I think it was Avis Car Rentals. $80.00 plus gas we had to put in it - maybe $20.00 to get it to where it was when we picked it up. There were several others companies there we could rent from but we went with Avis because we knew if there were problems we could get in touch with someone once we were home. Hope this helps.

  8. We rented jeeps once we got there. There was a GPS in the Jeep that had several awesome stops programmed in. We went to Pic Paradise - Paradise Peak (Google it) and to Dawn's Beach. We ate lunch at the Westin at Dawns beach. They let us use the loungers on the beach but not the pool or loungers around pool. We enjoyed it and plan on renting Jeeps again next September when we are there. Good luck and enjoy whatever you decide to do.

  9. I would love to know if the upgrade fairy visit first timers as well?!?!?!?!

When we cruised Disney Fantasy when it first came out, my best friend and her family and our family were upgraded from a guaranteed inside stateroom to a balcony room. IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! We kept the upgrade a secret from our husbands until we boarded the ship. Talk about a SURPRISE! :D We also paid 1/2 of what it costs to book Disney now. IT WAS THE BEST FAMILY VACATION WE HAVE EVER TAKEN!!!!!

  10. First I want to tell you thank you so much for answering my questions. I am new to RC so these are things that I have been curious about after reading so many wonderful posts and reviews.

Since they do not price match will they honor lower fare if they lower the price before our final payment is due? Just curious.

What time can you start boarding RC? What time do you get to go to your room after you board the ship?

Wifi access - do you know what it costs for getting onto the wifi on the ship?

I wanted to find out how many other ships will be in the ports when we are there. The latest date I see is April 2016. We cruise in September 2016. Do you know when those dates will be posted.

    Thanks again for your help!

  11. We have never sailed Royal Caribbean before. We have sailed Disney and Carnival in the past.

This is our first time on RCI. We booked cabin 1623. Does anyone know how long the sofa is in the interior room? Wondering if my 11 year old (at the time of sailing) could sleep on the sofa instead of pulling down the Pullman. Anyone have photos of this room? How is the closet configured - are there drawers or just shelves?

Any tips for Royal Caribbean would be helpful too.

    Thanks for your help!

  12. It is a great beach. We were there in July. Very little glass, some sea glass, and not even much of that.

Lots of loungers or chairs, umbrellas to rent. Some great food kiosks as well as little bars. Water was great, some little rocks getting in but nothing major. Water was very clear and pretty.

We had debated for years about trying Junkanoo and now don't know what took us so long. It is probably the only beach we will go to from now on in Nassau. Nice to finally find a Free beach, with very clean bathrooms, food/drink vendors and an easy walk from the pier. Beach was also very clean and we had only one jewelry vendor come up to us the entire day. That was it.

Loved watching all the locals and tourists run and jump off the Breakwater walls. We had a blast there. I did a big review on it, if you look under by name you can find it.

I can't find your review on Junkanoo. Can you post a link to it?

  13. If your plan is to get to Maho to watch the planes, then the BEST approach would be to catch a taxi from the dispatch area at the Cruise Facility.

$18 total to zip the two of you to Maho, or less if there are other people to share the ride. Should be the same price on the return. Taxis may not be waiting on your return, but your friendly local Maho beach bar (I would highly recommend Guy's) should be able to call one for you. If not, a quick walk out to the nearby hotels will find you one. Taxi would return you to the Cruise Facility.

If you want to try to save a few bucks, then the bus is an option. Take a taxi or the Water Taxi to downtown Philipsburg. Should be $3 for a taxi (each way) per person or $4 for the Water Taxi ($6 round trip). You should be able to walk it in 20 minutes or so, if so inclined.

Then find Back Street. It's the next one over from Front Street, which is the one with all the jewelry stores. I would look behind the Court House for a sign labeled Bus Halte. That's where you will find the $2 bus. Look for a bus with a 'Maho' or 'Mullet Bay' or 'M'Bay' sign in the window.

Tell the driver Maho Beach and you pay when you get off. You'll get back on the return bus on the other side of the street from where you got off. There will be a bus by shortly, though there is no schedule as they are independent operators. The bus will drop you in Philipsburg, without an option to continue to the Cruise Facility, another $3 pp by taxi or your return ticket (wristband) on the Water Taxi.

We will be the only ship in port that day. I have several questions. Any help you can offer would be great!! Do you take the water taxi and then the bus? Can the water taxi take you directly to Maho beach? Also, there will be 4 adults and 4 kids with us. Is Maho beach kid friendly? Not sure I want to take them to sunset bar where the sign said....topless ladies drink for free. Where else could we got to watch the planes other than sunset bar? Do you know how much the chairs and umbrellas are at the beach? I have read different reviews about snorkeling and swimming there -read the water is too choppy. Is that true? Please help. We leave on 9/22 and are trying to decide what to do. Thanks so much!
