  1. Hi guys also booked on this one so looking forward to meeting you think there will be a good crowd of us on this one as has been on ma previous transatlantic crossings. First oasis class ship so really looking forward to it also have a boardwalk balcony which will be a nice change. Thomas & Rob from Scotland

  2. Another one just back off Explorer [yesterday ] and it was great.

Any teething problems they had after the refit seem to have been resolved and we had a wonderful cruise.

Glad to hear things are getting better we are due to go on 29th June and have some new friends we are introducing to cruising and was getting bit concerned by some reviews. How did you find the lounge area for seating etc as there are 8 of us and I keep reading about limited seats and space.

  3. Are those included in the RR package?

I had the premium drinks package on my last few cruises and cans of sprite zero where included on this as they didn't have on fountain! No other cans where but I was able to get sprite zero on both Indy and liberty at all bars without any issues. Some bars didn't give you the full can but poured it into a glass :)

  4. Get off the boat walk to taxi rank they will put u in mini bus taxi with other folks sure was 8$ each took about 20 mins! Loads cabs waiting at maho beach to take you back to ship or we went back to the other beach near the port where you can see the ships.

  5. I say let them wear what they want within reason far too many folk on here are too quick to judge!! On my last cruise in may I did indeed wear smart shorts myself with a shirt like I would here on a nice evening if was going out . It's now the style for many heading out on the town! We are 25-35 not that that matters! I've never been turned away nor had anyone say anything to me. I do off course make an effort on formal night and wouldn't wear shorts but see absolutely nothing wrong with it on other nights. Like others say I think with cruise lines appealing to the younger generation things are changing and formal is on the way out or certainly things are becoming more relaxed.

  6. I was also disappointed with our experience of the joint on our recent Indy TA. We had told friends about the dancing and fun atmosphere and again no hello when entering no singing or dancing although it was quieter than I have seen it before . No refills on chips onion rings server seemed disinterested. Thought food was just ok

  7. I'm hopefully about to book this tomorrow as found excellent deal on it.

Just returned from independence TA from Fort Lauderdale to Southampton in May and it was awesome they're was a good gay crowd on board the most I've ever seen on cruises I've been on so far. It was totally awesome hopefully this one may be the same :)

  8. i just seen this now on the main board, ive never been to San Jaun and have been to nassau a few times so was ok with the change , however the times seem a bit weird 4pm-11? makes it hard to plan for things with dinner etc unless u plan to eat out. has anyone else been to this port and if so can you suggest something to do between these times? if not i will likely stay on ship

  9. Welcome CP

This will be my 3rd time to st thomas our last 2 cruises we have stayed before in Orlando which has been much fun it will be a fun packed few days for you before you then get to chillax on the cruise!!

I've not booked any excursions as yet as there didn't seem to be much on offer when I looked through RCI. I think we will likely go to maho beach in st marteen again as I love to see the planes come in over the beach! Nassau prob just get off n go for a wonder there are a few public beaches within walking distance . This is our first transatlantic so I'm lookin forward to making the most of the ship :)

  10. I have sailed royal Caribbean and carnival both similar sized ships and can honestly say I find them both very comparable! I would have no hesitation in booking either as have always had a great time. Yes there are small things I prefer about RCI but then there are also little things I prefer about carnival. In general I find them very similar from my experience can't comment on ncl as haven't done this yet.

  11. We have been on carnival and agree the nightlife is good and always has things going on late hours we are also in 20/30s . I would suggest royal Caribbean as find they also have this and are very comparable we have had many late nights in the piano bar singing along then been known to shape some moves in the nightclub we are heading back on RCI in April and hoping the nightlife will be as good as when we were last with them. :)

  12. Myself and partner have been on carnival twice we always see the meetings in the fun times n occasionally pop by to see who was about. We find the times carnival put these at are never great it was always around 7ish In ocean plaza which means early seating dinner aren't there and late seating are most likely getting ready for dinner. We did see a few guys when we passed through and met them later in another bar then all arranged to meet and do our own thing which worked well. We are going on RCI in April and hopefully the FOD meetings will be a bit more successful.
