  1. Okay we are trying to plan another cruise at the end of 2015. We have since relocated to Florida and of course that opens up the options for 3,4, or 5 day cruises. My father, who crusies CCL, says that 5 day cruises are not as exciting as a 7 day cruise. How does a shorter cruise compare to a 7 day cruise?

  2. We were directly under the casino on Silhouette recently. One of the quietest cabins we've ever had. We never would have known there was a casino within a mile of us.

Thank you to everyone. I always have earplugs as the DH snores terribly. I will post if I deal with anything differently.

  3. I think what they are trying to do is give us options so we can know how much we will pay ahead of time. It helps eliminate the nickle and diming compliants. I like having the option but we are the type who do eat at specialty most nights.

  4. My husband and I had to cancel our anniversary cruise in January 2014 due to financial issues but I'm determined to make up for it! We went on celebrity for our honeymoon and loved it. Now my question is: should we go back in celebrity or try royal caribbean, princess, or Norwegian? If anyone has good feedback or reasons why they choose one over the other I greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

I think it all depends on what mood your in. We have been on NCL and RCL and have things we like about both. Right now we are doing NCL more as we really love the freestyle options. However we are hoping to try RCL again and do it with more of a group. Have heard great things about the food and wine with celebrity but the price is a bit more. Look for the ship and the places you want to go. Enjoy the planning process!

  5. Thank you! Great advice so far. It is a bit far out so I was the first to start our roll call. We will see how it goes but i know most won't sign up until 6 months out. Glad to hear that most of these places are pretty cost effective. It makes me look forward to it even more!

  6. I would call Carnival and arrange the surprise. (Bon Voyage bottle, or gift card for Casino.)

I would make a couple of copies of the receipt, and seal one in an envelope, and give it to Mom. Tell her there is a surprise coming for Dad, and only open it if surprise doesn't appear by Day 3.

    Thank you! Awesome!!!

  7. It is really a fair comparison. One is large and the other smaller. I have not sailed the breakaway but have sailed the Dawn. We love the smaller ships and getting to NY isn't as easy as other ports! Enjoy regardless.

  8. Hi Rachel,

September's a pretty good time to go, after the heat of the summer.

But we really need to know a little more about you:

    Your ports.

    How many in your party.

    Your mobility.

Whether you'd be happy using local public transport, hop-on buses, taxis, tour-share, private tours.

And your interests - especially whether you have no interest in "ancient Greece", a passing interest, or an avid interest.

    JB :)

There are 2 of us in our 30's & 40's. Very mobile and pretty open to anything. We like to eat, drink and explore. Would be interested in seeing the beautiful views and possibly exploring the history of Olympia.

  9. We are taking our first Greek Cruise via NCL September 2014. It isn't the cheapest cruise for us especially with the cost of airfare at $1100 per person. So thus I want to be able to do things on the islands but I do need to try and keep them budget friendly. I have seen some DIY postings that may do the trick but looking for any other recommendations on doing some that is cost effective!
