I just got off the Mardi Gras for a Premier cruise. It was not like it has been in the past, but it wasn't horrible either. There was no slot tournament and no cocktail parties with drawings. We received a Players Club ball cap on day 1, two Players Club beach towels on day 2, $60 restaurant credit (for wine or Steakhouse selections) on day 3, and large platter of cookies on day 4. Nothing on the last two days. It didn't really feel like a Premier cruise, but the slots were open all night like on other Premiers.

While I'm happy for you, I hate hearing this, lol. (said in a joking way)
I double checked and had my TA call about the price for my son because I thought (hoped) he'd be free. But it's paid for and done. We're on board in 3 weeks. I'm looking ahead to a fantastic week.
Btw, are you in the US? Someone from Australia has her children sailing free in YC Christmas week. I know there are different promotions in different countries.
YC pricing for 3/4 is higher than the 3/4 pricing on non-YC cabins.

We'll also be on the October 14th sailing...as well as the October 7th. Doing a B2B. First time on MSC, but I'm very, very familiar with the product and I know my husband and I are going to love it.
-
Thanks for this. I've shared it in my Haven and Yacht Club groups.

My daughter was upgraded from Fantastica interior guarantee to Fantastica balcony. I was upgraded from Bella interior guarantee to an enormous oversized balcony. MSC is the only cruise line I know of which upgrades guarantee cabins more often than it doesn't.

Another possibility is that your TA included prepaid gratuities and/or insurance on the taxes line.

I am almost certain that your TA is adding the "NCF" portion of the fare to the taxes line. NCF is part of the base fare...it's the non-commissionable fare. This amount only affects the TA and is meaningless to the consumer, but your TA misclassified it as taxes.

Question - four guests sharing cabin on Sky...one adult, three children. The children will all be able to order virgin daiquiris and pina coladas at no charge, correct? How are drink tips being handled? Are they included in the cruise fare?

Does anybody know approximately when we can expect Princess to open up 2016 Alaska Cruise Tours for booking?

I've considered accidentally putting the wrong birth year down on the Club O2 form.

That thought had crossed my mind as well, but I thought they cross-checked the signup forms to the list of names of teens onboard? Might be worth a try anyway. The worst that can happen is they get denied and then they're no worse off than if we didn't try in the first place.

Bradley’s concern is that since he will be 18, he won’t be able to go in the Club O2. Elijah will be able to. Surely, they will let him since his friend can go in.
I'll be on this cruise with you. My son is 17 and my daughter turned 18 in March. I'm not as confident as you that they will let her into Club O2. I've got my fingers crossed, but I honestly expect them to be very strict about the "Under 18" rule.

I am beggining to realize why so many people blamed the banks and expected mortgage reductions when real estate prices fell
Best comment I've read in a long time!!!

Sorry you had such a bad trip. I'll be on this ship on 3/29 and I'm still very excited about it. So far, your review is the only bad one that I've seen on this amazing new ship.
-
Thanks for the review. We'll be on the 3/29 sailing...also our first time on NCL. We're really looking forward to this cruise.

If you look at the deck plan, each cabin has a little "bump out" section. If the bump out is near the balcony, then the bed is near the balcony. If the bump out is in the center of the cabin, then the bed is next to the closet door.
-
Thanks so much for this review! I'll be on the 3/29 sailing and I can't wait!
How long was the actual show in the Illusionarium? Not the total time you were seated in there, but the show itself.
Was the Spice H2O area overly crowded or were chairs/loungers available most of the time? Was it very loud in that area, or was it relaxing?

I was on the Glory in December. The entertainment was poor compared to other Carnival ships. I also didn't like the new menus, but that's going to soon be the same on every ship, so I wouldn't not book because of the menus.
If the price is right, no cruise is a mistake. However, if you're really looking forward to good evening entertainment, the Glory will disappoint. If you enjoy the piano bar, karaoke, comedy, or casino for evening entertainment, the Glory is a beautiful ship and you'll have a great time.
Oh yeah - my father and sister are smokers. They said the Glory is the worst ship they've ever been on for smoking accommodations. I hate smoke, so it was wonderful for me, but I can sort of see where they are coming from. The designated smoking areas on the Glory have no hot tubs and there aren't even any tables where you can eat or play cards. Just a few chairs and even fewer lounge chairs. No smoking anywhere on Lido on the Glory.

Your thoughts on the Glory seem to mirror my experience back in December. I'm excited to try a new cruise line in March.

This site might give you an idea of what is in them. You can put in different drinks into their search field. I put Frozen Margarita in it. http://www.fatsecret.com/calories-nutrition/search?q=Frozen+margarita+
Sites like this are so misleading and get people into trouble with their diets. There is NO WAY that ANY frozen alcoholic beverage on a Carnival cruise is +/- 200 calories. Probably closer to 3 times that amount.

The Tandoori Grill is open every day for lunch and the menu posted is just a sample. The foods that are offered change every day!

The next Grammy performer has been announced: http://www.getaway.ncl.com/latest/press-releases/grammy-nominated-percussionist-sammy-figueroa-to-headline-the-grammy-experience-at-sea-on-norwegian-getaway/view/2014-02-10.
It seems they're rolling them out one by one.
Never heard of him. Then again, I had never heard of the last guy either. I was hopeful that it would be somebody well-known for the 3/29 sailing, but I guess not.

I have done 5 in an inside on a Fantasy class ship, 5 in an OV on Dream, and 4 in a balcony on the Glory. No little kids...always adults and/or teens. None were a problem. However, I have seen some very small looking inside cabins on the Dream and Conquest class ships. I think 4 in one of those cabins might be a bit too tight.

Why was the Freedom your least favorite?????
The food, entertainment, crew, etc. were all good; however, I just thought the ship was ugly. It was dark, gloomy, and reminded me of a 1970s hotel.

My husband and I really enjoy the Serenity decks on Carnival ships. They are generally quiet and relaxing. We don't care for the LOUD music played elsewhere.
Will we find a relaxing atmosphere like this during the day in the Spice H2O area, or is that area always a party atmosphere?
If the Spice H2O adult area is loud during the day, are there any other nice, relaxing areas to lounge during the day, with nearby hot tubs? I'd rather not have to pay for Vibe Beach Club if there's someplace complimentary to relax.

I'm in 16104 in November and I haven't been able to find info on it anywhere yet. I can't wait to see it!
