  1. We are docking at Punta Langosta for the first time on our upcoming HAL cruise in April. We've only ever docked at Puerta Maya and usually visit Pancho's Backyard there. I see that the downtown Pancho's is reasonably close to Punta Langosta. Does anyone know if it's walkable, or should we plan to take a taxi to and from the pier?

  2. We had some loser steal a floatie mat from our cabana while we were in the water. We saw him with it on the beach looking up at us laughing. Oh well, what can you do? There were three of us so enough mats to go around, but really, what a shame. His wife looked mortified.

  3. We found that as well at the Hilton. It wasn't cold but was rainy. We went to the hotel since the online confirmation stated that we would be charged, but they asked us if we were sure that we wanted to be there and that we would not be charged if we left. Makes me feel comfortable booking with the, again considering that we won't be locked in with bad weather.

  4. I have heard from people who were in this room and they said it wasn't a problem. We probably won't be going asleep until after they are done there. And we live by RR tracks and I can sleep with freight trains roaring by at 70-80mph - no problem!

So I'm sure you'll be ok then. Enjoy your cruise - I think you'll be getting on the ship the day I'm leaving!

  5. If you mean noise from the lounge below, they used to have music there at night. Now they use it for the comedy shows. I would think that won't be as noisy. If you are talking about noise from the wake or the azapods, IDK I've heard yes and know. We are in an aft wrap on 6 in June - we'll let you know!

Ugh, I hate to say this, and it may be completely different on the Splendor. I was on the Glory out of Boston last July and we had an aft balcony - not the wrap, but the one right next to the wrap on Deck 6. It was so loud every night that the room was shaking with the music. The good news was that I could enjoy the comedians from the comfort of my own bed! (with earplugs in) Honestly, Carnival should do more to warn people of the noise issue with these rooms. Having said that, if you think you may be able to deal with the noise, or heck, if you'll be down in the lounge yourself (what I SHOULD have done instead of fuming in my bed), an aft wrap is special. Maybe the structure of the Splendor is better than the Glory. I know that it's not exactly the same as the Conquest class ships.

  6. I wouldn't chance it. I was there a couple of years ago, and it just looks so easy to slip and fall. The rocks are jagged, and you could easily cut yourself. There are also a TON of others climbing at the same time. Maybe I'm just chicken, but I enjoyed myself plenty by climbing up the stairway on the side of the falls and watching from the side. I don't think your enjoyment would be diminished by doing this (mine wasn't!) and the last thing you want is for your vacation to be ruined by really hurting yourself.
