  1. Does anyone know who the casino hosts are on the Pride? We are going on the upcoming premier cruise and hoping to have a great time.

I am getting $900 in casino cash and my husband is getting $400 cuz he always plays craps. I had over 12,000 points last 7 day cruise. ;)

  2. My husband and I have booked an upcoming premier cruise on the Pride. We are SUPER excited to go. However, I have been wondering if it is going to be MORE smokey than normal sailings and will I get to play the machines-or wait in line??

I realize we receive all the freebies and contests but is it really worth it or have we made a mistake???

  3. I'd stick with the Pride. It was just refurbished last fall with 2.0 upgrades. I however agree that the stops on that particular itinerary are less than stellar. You may want to consider the other sailing the Pride does to Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay and Freeport.

My husband and I are in our 60's and LOVE the Pride! We are going in March for the 6th time to sail on her. We have done the Florida route twice and there really isn't much to do. We usually stay onboard in the FLA port and enjoy a much less crowded Serenity pool. In Nassau we go over to Atlantis and have lunch and walk around. We have also taken a cab to the restaurant Twin Brothers and had lunch. In Freeport we have taken a cab and gone to Port Lucaya and to the little casino over there.

This is a wonderful gift for your parents...I wish my kids would send us on a cruise LOL

  4. OK, I was telling my wife about some fingernails that a lady had done with Carnival colors and some artwork. I cannot find it anywhere, so I am asking if you ladies have any pictures of your fingernail art that you had done for a cruise could you please share with the rest of us.

    Thank you in advance:p

Pinterest has a ton of ideas for cruising nails.:)

  5. Bridlegs, do you remember what your suite number was? I just booked an aft Ocean Suite.

I believe it was 6329 Empress level. Also, I forgot to tell you about ALL the soot from the stacks lands on your chairs on the balcony. When you sit down you get all these black specks on your clothes.

  6. I was on the Pride out of Baltimore in 2013 with a few girl friends. Me and hubby are thinking of booking for this October. How was your aft room. Was it as noisy and shaky as some say? They have them available and we are thinking about it but I would hate to ruin hubby's first Carnival cruise with a bad cabin experience. Cannot wait to experience the upgrades.

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

My husband and I have been on the Pride 5 times (and are going again in March :) We had an aft suite about a year ago and it was the worst! It was noisy and rocky and you could only see where you've been!! It was the ONLY time I got seasick!! From now on we always stay midship!!

    But I LOVE the Pride...maybe that's obvious??;)

  7. My husband and I spend quite a bit in the casino and the last three times we BOTH have been given a FREE cruise. We also call ahead and receive the FREE drink card upon entering the casino on the first night. We usually receive free slot play except on the free cruises. We receive chocolate strawberries in the room as well as dinner in the Steakhouse twice. We did receive a bottle of wine one night in the dining room compliments of the casino.

We tip our room steward $50 the first night and continue to tip through the cruise. Our waiter always gets $5 for brunch and dinner. We tip as well to all drink servers even in the casino when it is FREE. We bet for the dealers. Last cruise I bet $10 for the dealers at three card poker and hit a straight flush!! They were very happy!! :D

We always buy FTTF and rent a cabana. We don't buy pictures or art though.

We add and keep the gratuities on our bill.

We just figure what goes around comes around!

  8. Just curious, now that Im on my 3rd Free cruise from the casino...I usually loose, DH has won once, years ago on a slot $6500.

What have you won on? How much did you when ? What were you playing?

Just returned off the Pride (Mother's Day) and I won $2000 and $1600 on one of the video poker machines against the back wall. I was playing Deuces Wild with 10 credits for a $1.00 denomination ($10 a pull).

I also saw a woman hit $2000, $2000 and then $4000 on the SAME machine in about 30 minutes! She was playing Triple Bonus for max credits-$.50 ($2.50 a pull). She was playing the video poker machine furthest from the window against the back wall!

It was a very lucky trip for me as I also hit 8 straight flushes and one three of a kind at the Three Card Poker table as well. Earned a free cruise but won't be going as I don't have the money to gamble :( !! LOL!!!

  9. It pays to ask!

My husband and I received dinner at the steakhouse twice on our cruise last summer and once last January as well as two bottles of wine. The waiter told us in the MDR the wine was a casino gift. The next night the casino host gave us a bottle of wine in the casino! She said we were suppose to have it at dinner and they didn't do it!

We always receive the strawberries in our room. Not a big fan but appreciate the gift.

For our upcoming "FREE" cruise (I say that because we upgraded to a balcony so with tips and taxes it is $418 a person) when I called they said no money comps but I earned the free drink card upon embarkation. I had 11,000 points on the slots last cruise.

  10. I agree! On our last cruise last January we also received a letter giving us a free cruise before May. Any ship for 3-8 day cruise! My husband and I BOTH received the letter!

We have received the FREE drink card for use in the casino on our last 3 cruises. We also have received money comps as well.

We take an allotted amount for gambling with us and we usually do pretty well. We make friends with the dealers and the pit bosses too. In fact on my last cruise I knew the same casino pit boss would be there and I brought him home made cookies! The dealers were fighting over them. On the ship we exchanged email addresses and since have been corresponding with each other. He lives in Romania and I in Virginia!

It never hurts to be nice. The dealers say thank you for treating them like family when they are so far from home!! (They would yell here comes Dad when my husband came to play craps!):D

    Not a sermon...just a thought! LOL!
