I stayed in a spa balcony deck 11 port side. I only had breakfast in the buffet area.  The only long lines were the omlete station.  I most say I didn't encounter any rude people and I didn't hear any complaints.  I had exursions is all 4 ports through carnival.  Aruba we did the submarine with carnival and an island tour with someone at the port, Curacao we an island tour with a beach break that also went to the caves, La Romana we did the Top 10 and Amber Cove the Wild truck adventure with beach break.  They all were very good.

Did you enjoy the spa area? What was your favorite of the 4 excursions? Thx!!

Scroll to the bottom of the page. Select your stare of residence to see the certificate of insurance. For Canada, choose Other.

Here is a sample from a random pick.  NOAA must issue a warning or watch at or on the way to you port of embarkation. A likely scenario would be a hurricane watch or warning for Florida or Texas ports.

The last item listed would cover you if weather prevented you from arriving in time, for example, a snow storm.

Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for.

  3. Thanks all. This is Carnival Insurance & I can't find a policy anywhere. I do have comprehensive insurance through both my work and my credit card, however, they do not offer "cancel for any reason". I don't plan on cancelling, but we are travelling during hurricane season & COVID is such an unknown that I'm planning on adding the Carnival cancellation insurance to the booking. Wait times have been long when trying to call them, so I thought I'd try my luck here. I didn't think about severe weather in relation to my home and not being able to travel to the cruise. That guess makes sense. When I get around to calling Carnival, I will report back what they say with regards to weather cancellations.

  4. Does anyone know what "severe weather" might qualify for 100% refund. Thanks!

    Carnival trip cancellation description:

If you need to cancel for some of the most common reasons (severe weather, illness, etc.) you'll get 100% of the cost of your trip back, in cash. If you need to cancel for any reason not listed in the plan — any reason at all — you'll get 75% back in a Future Cruise Credit Certificate.

How I’m going to spend my morning...  dumb

me just checked my onboard account. Also on the app. Lots is $10 to $25 charges for drinks. Overages I’m sure for wine and call liquors that should not be there with the PPBP.  Sigh.

    0EB5798E-9350-4E65-96BD-973019D77F6E.jpeg

Ughh, that's frustrating! We have the PPBP also. Interested in hearing how this goes for you. Good luck. I'm sure it will be fine. I'm curious to see how they are going to handle drinks with my son. When we booked, it was open bar. My son will be 18 & we will sign the consent so that he can have beer and wine. When they cancelled open bar, they gave everyone who booked the beverage package OR if you had the premium beverage as a perk they upgraded yo uto PPBP. That's fine for myself and husband, but my son is 18 and therefore too young for a beverage package. I've called customer service twice and no one has any answers on how they will accommodate this on our sailing other than "don't worry, he is grandfathered in, you won't have to pay for his drinks". I suspect I will also be waiting in line at customer service at some point!

So sharing an internet package is way too easy. Anyone can visit “login.com” and login with your credentials (name and birth date I think). If someone else is on the unlimited package, it asks you if you want to log them off. Then that person has the internet. My girls figured that out day one!  They can bump me anytime. Thats

why I mostly post in the morning!   They are sleeping...

football has been a blast. It’s on channel 27 as a special event in your state room. The sports bar would be way too small for super bowl. Will ask!

Awesome, thank you! If my son is logged into the internet package on his phone, am I able to access and NCL chat app to connect with him without a second package/for free? If not, I think I'll add a social media package for him so that 2 can be online for communication purposes. I won't do this until we are onboard b.c I suspect we will be spending most time together and may not be necessary. Have a great day!

Yes, but one more thing we missed from lack of research...

Is the NCL App Chat Free? Myself, DH, DS will be heading out on the SUN in the near future. We'll be upgrading to unlimited Wifi which I know is good for 1 device at a time. I expect to spend most of our time together, but DS is super sociable & we want to be able to get in touch with him if he ends up making new friends.

PS - Thank you for your review. It is great! You and your family look like you are having so much fun! If you are in the Sports Bar gain, I'd be interested to find out what they have planned for Superbowl. I would assume it will be on in the Bar & staterooms, but I wonder if they'll also show in Bliss or Theater etc. Cheers & enjoy the rest of your vacation.

  8. Lol alrighty then. :) That's what we did too. Never seen that kind of sale before.

Hello! How was your cruise?? Any chance you took any cabin photos you would like to share? I've seen a ton of 1388/1688 interior/exterior photos, but none of the interior since the Navigator has gone into dry dock.

    Thanks!!!

  10. It's been a few months, but I had to share our Costa Maya experience on the Carnival Dream this past winter. It was an exceptional day in a Gorgeous place & prior to my cruise, I couldn't find a lot of information about fishing in Costa Maya.

We made reservations at Tropicante months in advance. There is no fee to reserve, free wifi, amazing food & a beautiful beach. We took the Tram/Shuttle there from the port for a few $$ each & a cab back to the port on the way back.

I had asked Steve @ Tropicante about fishing prior to our visit & he recommended Neptuno. They park out front of his restaurant & they said if we caught anything, they'd cook it!

Once we arrived at the restaurant, we found our perfect spot for the day & enjoyed great waiter service all afternoon. We had an endless flow of cold beers & delicious food coming our way. The boys (my dad, cousin, hubby & son) talked to the fishermen & Neptunos & confirmed 1 hour of fishing was $75 & that hour was fishing time. We paid them $90 with a tip & they headed out.

It was ~ 1.5 hours in total with the time it took to get to the fishing spot and back. They brought back 2 Barracuda's which were a hit on the beach. We let the fishermen keep 1 & one of the Tropicante staff cleaned the other one right on the beach! We gave him a $10 tip. Then the cooks at Tropicante cooked it for us & served it 2 dishes - Ceviche & Fish tacos. I believe they only charged $10 for this.

All in all it was an AMAZING day. There were 5 of us on the island for the day (6 adults, 1 teen). We must have drank a case of beer, had chips & salsa, dino eggs & a couple other delicious eats off their menu PLUS the ceviche & fish tacos and at the end of the day our bill was $130. Add in the fishing (90), fish cleaning tip (10), transportation there and back (30) it was an unbeatable day that worked out to ~ 40 each. Here are some pics:

  11. Thanks for all the great info! We are booked at the CI Edgewater also for a NCL BA cruise. We'll definitely be visiting the Mitsuwa Marketplace for dinner! We usually travel with 1 beach bag/back pack & 1 carry on size luggage each. If we decide to take the bus to the port authority Sunday will they allow luggage? If not, we can take the Port Imperial Ferry I believe. Thanks!

  12. We sailed grandeur the first week of April last year and there are a ton of kids. We sailed in Feb this year but i consulted my son's teacher before booking and she said GO! She insisted that the culture experienced while traveling is invaluable. She did ask him to put together a slide show presentation to share with the class when he got home,.

  13. There should be a link to my jewel review in my signature. Sorry, i can't see it b.c I'm I'm on a tablet. We stayed in a mini site and there are pics. Not sure if there are bathroom pics but it was definitely bigger and i remember it being a full tub/shower. Have fun!

  14. I hear ya!!! I still love Carnival & am booked to sail the Dream in Feb, but I did love the drink packages on Royal. They had a beer & wine package that was cheaper than the other packages & all their packages include bottled water. That being said, if the pricing on this new package sticks, 37.50 is a great deal for a 7 day. It does stink though that it can't be used on HMC & LSC...

Thank you all. I went through that 3 times and missed it every time.

Guess I don't understand it. It's their island and all the drinks you purchase go on your S&S card... why can't Cheers be used? That's a bit of BS in my opinion.

  15. not to burst your bubble, but half moon cay is listed under the "excluded" portion of what you copy & pasted. It would be nice though! When I was on Royal this past April I was able to use my drink package on their private island....

So, I'm going to print this out... wish it was dated. There is NOTHING under the exclusions anymore about the Half Moon Cay port. That being said then you can use the Cheers! program for drinks when on the island?

I definitely want to get confirmation for this!

What is the "Cheers Beverage Program"?

    CHEERS! Beverage Package

Using the CHEERS! beverage package, guests can enjoy a wide variety of wine, beer and spirits (including cocktails and frozen drinks), along with sodas and non-alcoholic frozen cocktails throughout the voyage at one convenient flat rate plus tax and a 15% gratuity added at the time the package is purchased.

    3 day $55 per person/per day

    4 day $45 per person/per day

    5 and 6 day $42.50 per person/per day

7 days and longer $37.50 per person/per day

Prices are subject to change and price adjustments (up or down) implemented on the day of sailing will replace any previously advertised price.

This program can only be purchased on board; it is not available for purchase online or via telephone order. Guests can sign up for CHEERS! at the Atrium Bar, Casino Bar or the bar at the main pool area.

With the purchase of this package, you will enjoy the ease and convenience of paying one flat price for your spirited beverages (yep, that’s with alcohol) all cruise long - this package is an amazing value! Simply use your newly-stickered Sail & Sign Card and you’re ready to enjoy!

Beverages included in the package are:
