I am  starting this thread in order to provide info about our efforts to obtain a refund for the days we spent in quarantine on the Apex.  Perhaps it will be useful to others in this situation as well.

We were moved from a Celebrity Suite to a Deck 3 Oceanview, where I spent 10 days and my husband spent 6 days of our 12 day cruise.  We disembarked on 8 July.

Before we disembarked,  the Quarantine Concierge on the ship had assured me several times that the information about our quarantine would be "in the system" and visible to the  Engagement Center. She directed me to call them when we got home and we got a card with a general  contact number and email. .   She had no other information about the process.

I called the Celebrity Engagement Center for the first time today and was told that they need to contact the ship directly to get the details of our quarantine period in order to evaluate the situation and our eligibilty for a refund.  Apparently, there is no  information about our quarantine associated with our reservation number, despite what we had been told on the ship.

The person I spoke with today said that she will call me back on Friday.we

I will provide updates on this thread as I get new information.  Wish me luck!

Did you book thru a travel agent?

No Jim of Jim and Iian who is a frequent poster here reported that he dealt with this directly and his booking was through a TA.

Does anyone have any idea of who I should contact, I need to escalate this as it's been almost 2 months and getting nowhere.

In our case we spoke with an agent and he processed the claim.    I would definitely make phone call because I know mine and many others nothing happened until i had a real person with a phone number and email.

All refunds were made to the credit card of my choice

I finally got thru on the phone and was told my travel agent would have to file the claim...does this sound right to anyone?  Very frustrated!

  4. Was in quarantine for 3 days with Covid and received letter while on the ship to contact celebrity engagement center for reimbursement for prorated cruise fare for lost days. I have emailed paperwork to them

and not received an email back.  That was end of May.  I tried calling but hold time so long hung up.  Will this prorated fare be in the form of a future cruise credit or credit card reimbursement?  How do I contact these people. What's the next step?

  5. Tested positive and was moved from sky suite to regular balcony room.  Upon returning to port, returned home to quarantine and incurred no additional expenses.  How are the days lost reimbursed?  Do I need to file anything or is this automatic?  I can't find anything in the paperwork I was given upon departure that addresses this question.  Tested positive on a Thursday morning and disembarked on Monday.

  6. I canceled my January 4, 2022 cruise on December 31, 2021.  As of today, Feb. 15, I have not received port and taxes refund nor FCC.  On January 9, I canceled my January 15 sailing...and I just received port and tax refund this week, no FCC.  Seems to me like the January 4th cruise should have been credited before the January 15 sailing.  Who should I contact to inquire about this?  Thanks

As we gear up for retirement we want to experience a smaller ship. We typically have cruised RCL and Celebrity. We’re looking at Odyssey in April from Aruba and we’re wondering about night time entertainment. We don’t care about big production shows but like live music such as piano bar or guitar player/singer. We like to stay out a bit late (midnight or so). Any info on nightly entertainment appreciated. Thanks.

We are also on this sailing, our first time on Seabourn and like you normally Celebrity and Royal.  Look forward to meeting you onboard.  Not sure what to expect after sailing on such big ships, but we are definitely looking forward to this line after all we have read!

  8. I canceled our Jan 4 cruise on Dec. 31.  Have not received any port fees or taxes back as of today.  Ronmar22 said he received back Jan. 21.  How do they prioritize these refunds?  Anyone know?

We cancelled our Jan 4 cruise about 72 hours before boarding.  Cut it close but we were just in time to   take advantage of the 48 hour cancel deal.  TA has handled it very well as we too are looking to utilize FCC for an April 8 sailing.  He was able to get a Feb 20 final payment date for the April 8 cruise.  No FCC yet, however did receive Tax, Fee's and Full airline fares as refund to our credit card on January 21st.  The air was indeed through Flights by Celebrity with no $200 cancel fee.  Still hoping that FCC will come through and TA is constantly checking with X.  I echo the concerns of many others on here as far as attempting to secure another cruise with the same type cabin without having to spend much more money.

  9. I was looking into medjet and found this on their website.  (Almost all of the islands I looked up were level 3 so Medjet would not fly there due to what I read.  )

Due to the high risk of sending registered aircraft and personnel into countries where the United States Department of State has issued a travel advisory of level 3 or 4, membership services are subject to exclusion or limitation in these areas. A complete list of travel advisories for every country in the world may be found at the U.S. Department of State’s website.

  11. I canceled beverage package on 12/31 for 1/4 cruise.  Then 2 hours later canceled cruise.  I wanted to cancel beverage package upgrade before cruise so there wouldn't be any issues.  I've received nothing yet, no refund for upgrade to premium beverage package nor port fee and taxes.  Funny thing is today I received email from Celebrity me to fill out form on how the cruise was.  My travel agent told me it was canceled...sure hope so.

Generally you have to cancel through your Travel Agent.   If an agent is responsive it is possible under certain circumstances for Celebrity to take back the book and assist.

We decided to cancel our 1/4/22 Silhouette cruise today.  I called Celebrity to cancel my upgrade to premium drink package.  I asked if I could cancel the cruise with the representative that was helping me but she said I had to go thru my travel agent.  My TA if off until Monday and his entire agency is closed until Monday.  I left a voicemail and email with TA and agency.  Do you think I should call Celebrity back or will they understand the cancelation is less than 48 hours due to holiday?

Quoted on what?  The first sentence is correct, the second sentence is not.
As the statement about amenities is absolutely incorrect.  Substitute amenities with promotions and it is correct.

Is your quote from a third party non Celebrity source?  Or just a different area of Celebrity website that is poorly written?

Here  is where I see the information.

    https://www.celebritycruises.com/bid-on-cruise-room-upgrade

I received a move up email from Celebrity.  When I put in my bid and gave my credit card info I was then transferred to another page that I quoted.  I copy and pasted exactly as it was written.

  14. This is exactly what is quoted:

I acknowledge that the upgrade does not include any additional promotions, that the stateroom will be assigned based on space availability, and that once accepted, the upgrade is final and non-refundable.
I acknowledge that I will keep the same amenities that I have on my current booking; no additional amenities will be added as a result of my upgrade.

I am not 100% sure, but I am presuming the "non-refundable" statement means once you bid, provided you are able to sail, you cannot cancel your bid.  If you cancel due to a positive Covid test, I can't imagine they would not refund that money, or at the very least give you future credit.

I would place that $6k bid but not after reading that.  They need to reword and make clear exactly what is at stake.

  16. I have an aqua suite and the all included package.  I have upgraded already to the premium drink package.  I would like to submit bid for upgrade to sky suite.  Question is, will I have to pay more gratuities.  Does the upgrade include the premium drink package that I upgraded?

My travel agent said if I win upgrade no additional on board credit.  I do recall reading on here that someone did receive more from travel agent as agent gets more $ from our upgrade.  Not a deal breaker, just curious if they do receive more.

  17. We did the reverse tour thru Celebrity, Calgary to Vancouver, then cruise a few years back.  We were very disappointed that the Canadian portion was all independent. Lots of people on bus who didn't have anything to do with Celebrity on going on the following cruise.  We were shocked that none of the hotels along the route had air conditioning.  It happened to be a very warm summer.  We were given fans to use in rooms.  It was beautiful, loved the cities we stopped at...just wish it were run better.  Bus was large, lots of passengers.

  18. When booking a suite guarantee it does not come with the perks....no wifi and gratuities I understand.  But would it or would it not come with premium drink package since you are able to use the retreat?  Hope someone can answer this.  Thanks,
