Maryanne, we will spend the day in Lahaina then attend the OLL with our group. If you choose to drive to Hana from Lahaina it is a all day trip and you will want to plan the day, to be back in time for sailing at 11 PM. It is a wonderful drive but a very windy road and narrow but the scenery is beautiful.

 

Rene, she is already on our Roll Call so she is good to go there. :-)

The only 2 luaus that the ship offers are Drums of the Pacific Luau and Kaanapali Sunset Luau. Are either one of these the Old Lahaina Luau that everyone is talking about?

Road to Hana is nice scenery, but a very long drive, there and back. We spend our time in and around Lahaina..

What is Lahaina and what is there to do?

Sailing on the Radiance of the Seas on April 27, 2014. Still not sure what to do. If anyones been to Maui is it worth to take the Road to Hana tour which is all day or go to a Luau that would be around 5:00. Cannot do both and trying to find someone who has been on either of these excursions.

Next sailing on the Allure of the Seas 8/18/13 and then the Radiance of the Seas to Hawaii on 4/27/14!

We went on the Oasis August 18,2012 it was already open at that time.

What fabulous pix! You are a very talented photographer. Very interesting perspective. We are taking the Oasis on August 18 and I am really excited to see it in person.

We are sailing that day too. Do you have any teenagers or a little older? We are sailing from MA with 22 and 20(girls) and 17(boy).

I used the 7-14mm f/4 for many of my shots. It's not the fastest lens but it gives a very wide view which is a fair tradeoff in my opinion. I only used my telephoto lens a few times. There simply aren't many opportunities to use a long lens on the ship.
