  1. Not sure why they would still show the 12 night cruise on their website when they are writing to all of us showing that it is now a 7 night cruise.  And bs about needing days to promote the ship to agents etc for their (events schedule)!  They didn't figure that in to begin with????

I'm in Florida and for me I don't now see the value in staying onboard so I can certainly agree that flying over the pond would not be worth it.

Let's see what they come back with on price and if they are going to offer us any other perks because of the change?  Somehow I doubt it!

Maybe going back to Oceania isn't in the cards.

  2. Sailed NCL Breakaway 8/21 from NYC.  4400 was the count the captain and crew gave out.  Largest number they said they had since the restart.  Largest number I've sailed with since last July but it is what they were built for so back to normal.  Guess for those who liked the empty ships - Party is over!

  3. For anyone keeping track of this posting.  Used Premier again a week ago and entry and transport was smooth.  Pick up after the trip was a bit chaotic as they are not back to full staff and did have to wait a bit for an empty van to arrive but all in all I'll still use them again in December.  Having said that I was on MSC which was the first pick up point - some sailing on other cruise lines may not have feel that as they were continuing passed with full vans.

Formal nights have been discontinued for the time being, but the menu is still for the "elegant night."  Since the Captain and higher up crew are not mingling with the pax they are keeping the dress code as "casual."

thanks - I'll leave the "fancy duds" home.

  5. Just got back from parking for 7 nights at Premier Parking.  Very easy to find off of 95 South.  Smooth operations to self park in covered parking.  Van to the ship just getting ready to leave when I arrived so no wait (otherwise might have been 20 to 30 minutes- probably only one van at times dues to lack of customers).  Close to the piers.  Pick up wait time maybe 10 minutes.  Smooth back to the parking terminal and exiting.  Easy back on to 95 North.  Will use them again in October.

I've used Premier Cruise Parking for years, and believe they are still operating.

Yes, they are back up and running - spoke with them today and if you book by phone the price is even cheaper than booking online.  Anxious to try as I have three trips booked for the end of this year and parking at the terminals can get expensive over time.

That's a distinct possibility.  If so, I'm sure they will eventually be replaced but not until demand reaches pre-covid levels.  There are so few ships sailing out of Miami right now (between covid and it being low season) that it would be hard for off-site operations to make much money.  The demand just isn't there.

    How sad but true.

Check out (if you haven't already) these recent threads:

Thanks for mentioning these.  I had read them prior to asking my question and just like this one is going- people are offering more comments and advice and not actual information about definite off site parking sites.  Maybe my answer is: post covid all went out of business.

  9. Anyone use any of the off terminal parking sites while jumping on a cruise in Miami - Post Covid.  It appears the place I had used for many  years is now out of business.  I know terminal parking is usually always available but previously had taken some longer cruises and at $22 a day it can become quite pricey.  Would love to hear if anyone has recently used a site and your comments.  Thanks in advance.

Yes.  There is a beautiful section of Ocean Cay reserved just for YC guests.  You can easily walk or a dedicated shuttle will take you there from pier side.  In the YC area of Ocean Cay is a bar and restaurant called Ocean House, and a private beach with lots of chairs/umbrellas and plenty of those beautiful YC towels so no need to lug them from the ship.  Also many of the same staff you see in the YC section of the ship will be working in Ocean House and the beach.  There are cabanas on the YC beach if you wanted to reserve and pay for one.  I have no idea how much they are or what is included with them.

Super! thanks very for the info.  I don't usually get off in most ports and especially ship owned facilities but now I can't wait for this stop.

Umbrella for sure, and I think floats but can’t confirm.  The YC beach on Ocean Cay is wonderful, with plenty of staff serving drinks, bringing towels, and making sure you’re happy.  Showers too. The entry to the water though is quite rocky so you might want to wear sandals.

Adjacent is Ocean House the bar and restaurant for YC passengers.  We had a fantastic lunch there (blackened mahi-mahi) all served by staff on real china. No buffet here!  The venue was very Key West in style.  I just loved it.  A private shuttle runs continuously from the ship to Ocean House for YC guests.  First class all the way!

Thanks for this - booked to sail in the YC in October and this is certainly exciting to see.  So I understand this to read there is a separate section on Ocean Cay just for YC passengers?  I guess I didn't read the fine print wasn't aware of this.  So I would not need to book a special cabana etc for this attention on shore?  Thanks

I think people are missing the point that this is a family of 5, not 4.  There are already two younger children in the suite.  They want to take Grandma to room with the 12 y/o daughter but don't want to pay for another YC cabin.  And Grandma really doesn't want to go.  EM

I don't think anyone is missing the point.  If Grandma doesn't want to go then the entire discussion is mute!  If Grandma wants to go then they take one YC cabin for 3 and another YC cabin for 2 - then they can decide what level of YC they want the cabins to be - inside, balcony or suite.  That is the only point.

The replies weren't just for you. Questions similar to yours happen often. In addition to the OP, others doing research might have the same question.

If the replies were "...sure, you shouldn't have a problem bringing someone in...", all of the people reading the thread for info in the future might think "....yeah, bringing people into the Yacht Club is no problem...".

You might be thinking that one extra 12 year-old won't ruin the Yacht Club experience for others (she won't) but others reading the thread could easily believe the same about their "extra" guest. It defeats the purpose of exclusive areas (MSC Yacht Club, NCL Haven, Celebrity Retreat, etc.) if those without access are allowed to have access.

    Well said!

  15. People pay the premium for the Yacht Club for a reason - and it certainly isn't to have others try and get cheaper accommodations for some of their family members and then try and get them the perks of the Yacht Club.  Either book all cabins in the Yacht Club or join your other family members in the other open areas of the ship.
