@damiross thanks for answering our questions! Did the TVs have shows on demand on the Grand?I think there were at least 100 shows and movies available on demand.

Did you run a speed test?
I posted my result here:
(Glad to see I'm not the only one interested in that data 😀 )

I'm currently on the bumpy Grand Princess. If any one has questions then let me.
Check in went really quick! Dropped of the luggage, went through security, checked in, and boarded in about 20 minutes.
As always, my first night on a cruise is a long night so I won't have too much to say now.
I was on this same cruise. Hope you did ok on that first night. I saw quite a few people looking queasy.

Is using the Internet on Grand about the same speed-wise as we generally find Internet use across the USA? Everyone wants speed and I found Grand' Internet fast enough.
It is not.
Having said that, it's probably good enough for a lot of people on board the ship.

Given we viewers are interested in Internet services while aboard, what does this mean regarding the service we can expect with Grand? Is it truly high speed, acceptable speed, or something else? Keep it simple. Most of us reading this may not be up to technical data.
Considering your questions are subjective, perhaps I can help if you tell me how you use the internet? I can then give you a simple answer. -

Confirmed. I did on my Nov 2019 10 day cruise on the Crown. We're Platinum, but I do not remember if the offer in the Princess Patter mentioned anyone's Loyalty Status. That MIGHT have been open to anyone.....I can't imagine why they'd had that offer in the Patter, which everyone reads, unless any status could purchase it at that price.
Anyone confirm who was not Elite/Platinum?
Our first day Patter just mentioned $9.99/day (50% discount).

Great!! Can you tell me if it was less to buy it once onboard? It is only $8.99 per day to buy it online. I will probably just do it unless they are offering specials for Platinum/Elite once onboard.
thanks
I asked a platinum member, and it’s $59.99 for platinum members onboard. 😀

Quick update. I’m on the Grand right now. Speeds seem quick enough. Web pages are loading quick. Social media uploads are also quick.

BTW .... is this for the 10 night sailing on the Grand on 12/18? It looks like 7 night pricing. Maybe they are giving it away ... that is a lot cheaper than 50% off for a 10 night sailing.
Yes, 10 nights. It was a bit confusing at first because that's 7 nights pricing at $9.99/night. Not that I'm going to call them and complain about it. 😉

I just checked it as well ... still don't have the ability to purchase this on my personalizer ... but the old options are not available either. I suppose they will offer it once I am onboard ... or, they are still working on pricing. I am so excited that this will be in place by my next sailing on the Grand. Yooohooo!!
FWIW, it shows up as $69.99 for my 12/18 cruise.

We were onboard last month ... the internet is still awful. Most times, I just couldn't even log on and by the looks of the numerous people complaining about it at the front desk, they couldn't either. There are many other things to love about the Grand, namely the staff, the internet is not one of them.
Thanks for the info. I just checked princess.com, and it looks like they pushed up the install/activation of MedallionNet to 12/3/2019. Hopefully that will solve the connectivity issues.

Any more recent cruisers want to share their internet experience on board the Grand Princess? I'm assuming it's probably still as slow since there hasn't been any new work done on the ship since the dry dock?
