April 24, 2022 Infinity sailing out of Barcelona has been taken off the Celebrity main site sometime in the past few hours.  We're on that sailing and have not yet received any email.

As has the 5/5 Sailing out of Ravenna (Venice).  It's been gone for a couple of days.  Only on Infinity sailing showing for May 5/24.

    What is a “vacation”?

Fly to Italy, Buy a Eurail Pass and traipse around Italy since we've never visited.  Still have flight out of Barcelona, so we can spend a couple of days in Provence before moving on to our return flight.  Not a "Cruise Vacation" but a "Land Vacation"

My post was made rather sarcastically, kind of tongue-in-cheek. There is nothing to see and to plan for accordingly, even though Celebrity has put it out there. No firm footing on land or sea.

Totes agree with you, although my final payment is due in 2 days, so I'd really appreciate some clarity from Celebrity on this.  It's the difference between us taking a sailing on 5/5/2022 or just having a 17 day vacation in Italy or the South of France.  At this point I'm leaning to just a vacation.

When you look at a cruise and a category is unavailable, how do you know when it’s just full or when Celebrity is playing games?

I’m on Oct 12 sailing and categories are unavailable or guarantee.

Wish I knew.  I was on another Cruise booking site and on some of these cruises they were offering balconies and other categories (just not Suite or above), then again I did not try to book through them so their information may have been out of date.

  5. Very interesting indeed.  We are booked on the May 5 sailing out of Venice (Ravenna) and when I checked to see if there were any changes to pricing today and all cabins except inside are showing "not available" seems quite odd since last week or so there were plenty available, we also had friends just cancel this cruise (conflicts at that time) which puts a sky suite back in play.  Odd to say the least.

Thanks. I did read this and it is helpful. My confusion came from Costco’s email to me confirming the cancellation. There is no mention of next steps, credits or anything so I guess I do not know if it is a what and see sort of thing or do I need to pursue more.

I went through the on-line form process from Costco last week, never received any type of confirmation e-mail from them??  Did you receive one quickly or did it take some time before you received your email from Costco.  I canceled an August 7th Alaska cruise, have not paid the final payment and wondering if my deposit will end up as a FCC (whenever it gets processed)?  I have checked the Costco Travel Website and the information for my booking has been removed, but since I haven't heard anything from Costco Travel as yet am concerned.  (I do hope I did not enter the email address incorrectly when submitting the form).  Any others that may have information I'd appreciate it.

Damn just when you thought, one ship and port got it right. I hope that the Government of Canada has this in hand. Our entry points for international flights are limited and all passengers a required to self isolate for 14 days. unfortunately I wonder if there were none cruisers on that flight. I was so pleased that San Diego did the proper thing and let the ship dock, I just wish the got the tests would have been done before everyone scattered basically Ruby Princess north. Sigh, glad the passengers are safe, hope the remaining group going to Acapulco to disembark in Mexico will be able to get off. I'm a little concerned with the apparent deception about the medivaced patient. From the warm welcomes all these ships have received around the world I can understand a bit, That being said when they were alongside they could have dealt with the situation better.

Canada concerned me the other day as I was viewing Flightradar24, it showed 5 passenger flights arriving from China.  I'm terribly surprised that Vancouver has not become a hot spot.

Seems the patient was under care so not much contact other than with med staff... but the crew  members ..wonder where they were on the ship?

That's exactly what I am trying to find out for good friends which were on this cruise.  They are not active on CC, but I am.  So if anyone gets information about the crew members affected and their duty stations, that would be great!

  9. Having very good friends that just arrived back to their ranch outside Austin, I reached out to see how they were doing.  They are feeling fine and self quarantining (glad they are a bit remote).  Is there any information on which positions those crew members that have contracted the virus worked?

Just seen on Cruise Mapper that the Eclipse is now anchored in Manta  where there is a landing strip. Heard they are there to get some medication.

Manta has an International Airport the the US Government spent money to improved during the 2000's. It was the Southern DEA / US Airforce Location.  Sadly the former Ecuadorian Government under Correa (A Chavista) wanted it closed, and it did as they did not renew the lease.  But it's a great airport and would have been a great Airport to have Charter flights from (especially for the Canadian Citizens).

Captain Leo announced this morning we will be making a very brief non docking stop somewhere in Equidor in a few  days.  Sounds like Chile couldn't come up with all the meds.

Side note, had a dolphin escort for a bit this morning.  Pod of probably 30+.  Good omen.

It is so cool, we sailed on the Radiance down the coast a few years ago and every day in that Southern Part of the Ocean our escorts were amazing!! Hope you get to see some whale activity as well!!

Captain just said that provisions are in San Antonio awaiting customs clearance and they should be taken to the ship via barges tomorrow. The medication list was given to the port agent which is making arrangements to get them to bring them tomorrow aboard.

Here's your ship pic for the afternoon! Great weather and dangit Valparaiso is so beautiful  ..  if you could only see it.  This was from the Azmara!

Well that's great news.  The ship collected all passports a short time ago, they need to be stamped for exit of Chile.

Still bunkering fuel.  Am told provisions barges will start after bunkering complete.

Making progress one step at a time.

Just saw that on Marine Traffic, Hey if you see this one roaming around the ship, tell him hello for us - looks like the weather at present is cooperating!

  14. Here's an update from my friend this morning.  Eclipse has anchored in Valparaiso to drop Chilean PAX off, refuel and Provision.  They then will set sail for San Diego.  The passage should take 14 days which will give them the required quarantine time when disembarking from the ship.  The Azmara Pursuit is just off the coast as well, and was supposed to head to Miami to drop PAX (same quarantine period), but the last location shows it turned around (another friend is on that ship).  It was indicated that the Captain wanted to get in one more excursion - so through the canal they go!  Will keep you posted when I get another update.  Here's a pic of the Eclipse at sea yesterday (taken from the Azmara Pursuit).

Are they able to move freely about this ship as normal?  Or are they social distancing like here on land?

As far as I can tell from hearing from him, they are able to move about the ship freely.  He posted a pic to me last night of an ocean view from the Dining Room.  Just heard from him this a.m. - breakfast done, heading to the Gym to workout.

We are on the Eclipse at the moment and could have to stay at sea for some days as Chile will not let us enter. The staff are fantastic and looking after us well with food and free drink and wifi! The USA, Canada and the UK are all in discussion to find a resolution to this problem. We have stopped trying to book flights home as we now do not have any idea of when or where we will depart the ship.

We are a healthy ship and we all need to be able to go home !

My best friend and his wife are on this sailing (we almost went with them), they said that the mood on the ship is generally good and since they've gotten their luggage back they will probably be on board for a bit.  I do understand that the lines for flights at the Santiago Airport are about 8 hours long.  Heck, might be better to be at sea than fight that mess at present.  He did indicate that nobody on the ship is ill...
