  1. We got off the Enchantment yesterday and stayed in 8626. Room was fairly quite except for late at night you can hear lounge chairs being dragged across the floor or in the early morning carts being moved. It is located very close to the elevators, but we took the stairs up one floor to the pool or windjammers. On the way into Port Carnival the wind was so bad it rocked the ship and you can hear her creak. Some of the cabinet doors opened as did the drawers, otherwise it was smooth sailing.

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts on 8626. Seems like it doesn't matter where we stay on deck 8. We're still probably going to hear some noise from above.

  2. Your not alone. Though Liberty's not really considered a "small ship" I'd much rather sail on her or one of her sister ships than the larger Oasis class ships.

However if bringing in the Oasis class means opening up more itineraries other than the three the Liberty has been sailing I'd be more agreeable about sailing on one in that case.

I love Liberty but I love the Vision, Enchantment and Rhapsody even more!

  3. Captain on Liberty yesterday during Captains Corner get together, said Liberty leaving Galveston May 3 2020 and plans are an Oasis Class ship coming into Galveston. Captain also said informally same another time during this weeks Liberty cruise .

Maybe I'm in the minority but I'm not that happy about one of RC's HUGE ships coming to Galveston. I MUCH prefer the smaller ships. I love the Liberty!

  4. I know a lot of hints are often repeated, but I haven’t seen this one recently.

I would recommend taking a small zipper bag (ladies I know we all have these “gift with purchase “ cosmetic size bags.). Put your jjewelry, passports etc in the bag, then bag in the safe. I see so many unfortunate stories about rings, earrings, etc being left in the safe. Those safes are DARK and hard to look into for short people like myself. It is so easy for something to get pushed to back (someone even mentioned a ring went “under” the felt bottom.)

I have also just taken a large zip lock bag-same thing, easy in and out.

    Happy cruising!

    Good idea!

  5. I've just gotten off the Independence this morning after a thoroughly enjoyable 8 night cruise of the Norwegian Fjords. We were staying in suite #1804 and am happy to confirm we had full suite benefits. We received a gold sea pass card, had full access to the suite lounge and were able to take advantage of all the other suite perks. Having read this thread before I left I wasn't really expecting to get full suite benefits so it was a very pleasant surprise to actually get all the perks especially when we'd never stayed in a suite previously!

I'd have been happy with the cabin even without the suite perks as there was plenty of room for the 3 adults in our party and the panoramic views of the Norwegian Fjords alone would have been worth the price of the suite - which was cheaper than 2 inside cabins anyway!

I extremely happy to hear this! I was under the impression I would only get double points when we stay in 1854 next year. I'm really looking forward to this cruise now! I'm glad you had a great cruise! :D

  6. And when I say "smaller," I mean nothing larger than say Voyager. I haven't sailed on one of the larger ships, but it seems a lot of people here seem to prefer the smaller ones, like Radiance class.

Do you think they'd ever build a new, smaller class ship? Something without all the gimmicks, but maybe perfect some of the areas. For instance, maybe put an area out near the pool that offered light dining; sandwiches, salads, etc.

I was watching the Quantum video online this morning, and it just seems like too much stuff.

What would be your dream, smaller size ship? Do you think this is a market that RC isn't interested in any longer? Obviously, they don't seem to have any trouble filling them, but is bigger always better?

I'm with you! I would LOVE to see some brand-new smaller ships!

  7. we are sailing symphony on a 4 day cruise in 2019, due to such a short cruise i am debating rather or not i need to purchase royal caribbeans cruise insurance or purchase travel insurance through 3rd party or just for go it since it is short cruise. Does anyone else buy travel insurance through royal or do you just travel with out it? Please give me your thoughts....

    yes!......always!

  8. I noticed that on the slip of paper they printed out for My Time Dining that it had some notes about us on the paper:

    Likes Bread

    Only Water

The first is true; I love bread! The second is true in the sense that we don’t order alcohol, but I do have iced tea.

I noticed that when we arrived in our stateroom this trip that they had the tubes of shampoo, body wash, etc. (we don’t have 340 points yet, but we are Diamond Plus; we have asked for them before on prior cruises). They also had our robes already hanging for us that we have had to request too.

I like the idea that they track our likes so we don’t have to tell everyone what we prefer on every cruise. Does anyone else have any information about such a database and what kind of info they keep?
