  1. Perhaps I've been really fortunate, but I've never had Delta change my seat assignment unless they changed the airplane model causing it. Have you emailed customer service with the specifics?

     

    On the other hand, one of my pet peeves with Delta is that they frequently change flight departure or arrival times (sometimes be only a minute or 2)!!!!!

  2. The amount of "promotional" email I receive tripled after turning diamond!!!!!! Pins are given the first cruise after reach the point requirement. As someone mentioned, if you reach the point requirement during the 1st cruise in a b2b, you'll probably need to talk to the LA to get the recognition for the 2nd cruise.

  4. I've been able to get good prices on 1 way international flights on Delta and gotten Skymiles awarded for the flights through ChoiceAir, but understand that may not always be the case. I am careful to plan well. I always plan to stay at least 1 night and often 2 pre-cruise so a delayed flight won't be problematic. I also look at layover airports. I typically won't fly through Northeastern US in the middle of the winter. There are many posts on the pros and cons. My advice is to do your homework and make the decision you are most comfortable with. Sometimes "peace of mind" is worth more than money.

  5. Did a cruise on Carnival Dream last month. There were 2 pool/beach towels in the room for use and a checkout stand on the lido deck by the main pool. The sign on the lido deck said that staff members would pick up towels from chairs that were unused for 30 minutes for the convenience of other cruisers and that they could be retrieved from the towel stand. In the "Fun Times" (sorry I may have the name wrong), there was a notice that lost towels would be charged to sail and sign card. Not sure whether it works for the cruise line or not, but seemed reasonable to me.

     

    By the way, staff members DID monitor the chairs for abuse!!!!!

  6. Sailed in a cove in Feb. Couldn't use the balcony from 8 - 5 on 2 of the 3 sea days because they were doing "maintenance" on the ship and cleaning lifeboats. Also got a notice about not using it for 4 hours on 1 of the port days. The day after the first maintenance day there was so much dirt and paint chips on it that it was not usable. Had to ask to have it cleaned.

     

    I loved being so close to the water. The view and sound of the ocean were incredible, but I doubt I'll book one again because of the issues and the attitude of customer service when I brought it to their attention.
