  1. You did the right thing. We sailed the Breeze last month and our kids almost missed the boat due to flight delays out of Chicago. They did not board until after 4:30 pm and the boat was supposed to leave at 4pm. They got lucky because there was a Carnival group that flew into Miami late and they delayed the sailing for them.

Have a safe trip....you will Love the Breeze!![/quote

This will be our second sailing on the Breeze. We do love it!

    Thank you.

  2. good luck.. take your time. you should have no problems

if you left around 8pm last night you've been driving 11 hours.

    keep us informed.

We left at five and are now in NC. Should be able to get there by 8 tonight. I hope everyone else makes it too.

    Thanks

  3. Good Luck Dream Girl! We drove from Long Island in the Blizzard in the beginning of January. It was so bad. Took us 5 and 1/2 hours to get through NJ. Scary! We actually said, "What were we thinking". But I was determined to get on that Ship and we did!

    Enjoy your cruise!

It has been very scary at times, but it is getting better now that the sun is up. We are now in North Carolina. We had one car spin out right next to us around 2AM. I am also determined not to miss the ship. I have been looking forward to it for a long time.

    Thank you.

  4. I feel for you. My DD & SIL lived in Kittery. Now they are enjoying the sunshine of San Diego thanks to the U.S. Navy. I don't know how yall can live up there in the cold lol.

Be safe and take your time. A cruise is sooooo enjoyable but when you have to work extra hard, it makes you appreciate it even more. I'm on a 21 day stretch of 12 hour shifts here at work just so I can get my 20 days off to enjoy my up & coming cruise and time in Fl pre & post cruise.

    Have a couple of the DOD's. I don't think 1 is enough. :D

Living in the Northeast is challenging. I am not a fan of the snow but that's where my family is. The summers are great but very short.

Have a great time on your cruise!

  5. I think you made the right decision. None of the airlines are flying....and they need to get their stranded travelers out first before rebooking anyone else.........I hope you have a great cruise!

BTW - even here in the Midwest there are a lot of flight cancellations because of all the shut downs on the East Coast and the South. This has been the winter from H-E-DoubleHockeySticks!!!!!!!! for travel.

I don't think we would have found a flight in time. It's a very long drive but worth it. Thanks

  6. Hope your drive is going well. This has been one hell of a winter I must say. This will be an experience you will be able to laugh at once on board the ship enjoying your vacation. Have a great time.:)

We will have some good memories. We have driven thru snow, rain and sleet. I think I could get a job as a mail carrier. Thank you.

  7. Be carefully around DC. We got a foot of snow last night and a couple more inches tonight. 95 should be plowed but May ice over tonight. All flights canceled out of Dulles and Reagan national.

Thank you for the information. We should be in that area around 2AM. We are in NJ right now. It will be a long night.

  8. That stinks. Just pulled up the website and it says the number to call is 800-428-4322. Not sure if that's the one you're calling or not. They don't call them "Useless Airways" for nothing!

That is one of the numbers we tried. That is a great name for them.

  9. I'm from Mass too and its always my worse fear with the winter weather so I'm with you girl, drive like the wind and get on that ship. You'll so enjoy that first DOD and getting away from this snow for the week

I am really looking forward to that drink. Thanks for the encouragement.

  10. Yes you will make it - just be careful - you have plenty of time. You may want to call the airline and see if they can get you on a flight tomorrow out of Richmond or somewhere in SC / NC? Yes they had crappy weather too but it will be out of there soon.

We have been trying to find any airport on the East coast but no lock so far. Thanks

  11. We have four cabins booked on the Breeze for this Saturday the 15th and got the dreaded automated message that our flight had been cancelled. We live in the New Alaska AKA Massachusetts. It is impossible to get a flight out and arrive before the boat leaves. At 11 AM today we decided to drive. If you have watched the news you know we are driving in some pretty bad weather. Will we make it??? We packed up the car at 4pm and the adventure began.
