  1. So one thing I noticed the most about my recent trip on the VV Scarlet Lady was the unusual amount of visible security walking around. I hadn't seen it mentioned in past reviews and made me wonder if it was a recent change? Security seemed to always be present at the pools and was always walking around the public venues. Saturated with security would have been how I would describe it. They all had body cams too.

Related, whilst onboard we did not notice any of the past comments from this thread from earlier in the season re drunk or high sailers. The only thing I heard was at the pool at the beach club someone mention they smelt marijuana earlier (but honestly all I smelt earlier was a cigar or pipe tobacco).

The food at Bimini was the only disappointment when it comes to F&B. I'm not sure that food is prepared by the Virgin culinary team, it's probably made by Resorts World and it's really not that good at all, especially compared to the quality of the food onboard.

Staff are VV staff during days their ship calls. The food is all prepared on ship and then taken down by the crew. Some final plating may occur at at the beach club.

"Based on feedback..." doesn't make any sense in the least.

It could be based on feedback but not direct feedback. For example they might be abandoning more customers at port when they forget all aboard time. When conditions are not favourable the scheduled itinerary is a bit tight and they have no choice but to depart. I'm not going to say "their own fault" but I can see that these customers obviously provide extremely negative feedback that they may be trying to tackle.

Of course they know the re-embarkation time of every sailer for every port. It might be a luxury used by an average of 12 people. They may have asked those who got on board earlier why they didn't stay ashore longer etc.

DM me for booking reference if you call in to Virgin or you can do online with the link only. Get $200 is sailor loot!

Thats showing as Resilient Caribbean Holidays. If its the correct link I will fix the itinerary.

  4. The spreadsheet is updated. There are now quite a lot of links that have come in from FB so well worth checking to see if the sailing you are after is listed.

Note: "The Cruise" is been shown on Channel 5 in the UK that stars Scarlet Lady ... the website is very very slow. If you are booking anything you might be better trying in an hour or so.

Terms for Sail With Friends says

    > f. Combinability. The “Sail With Friends” offer is combinable with most other promotions, particularly individual and public, non-circle promotions. “Sail With Friends” offer is not combinable with Circle offers, Interline rates, Tour Operator rates, sailors traveling on Friends and Family, gifted, or charter voyages, or who travel on a deeply discounted voyage fare (i.e., voyage fares of $100/day or less). Shipload of Love offer, and First Mates’, no-charge access keys, are also excluded. Persons boarding for solely pier-side events do not qualify.

    So it should.

However, are you sure the offer really includes $400 USD OBS? The pop up says "Plus get up to $400 in onboard credit" but the graphic doesn't say it and the terms at https://www.virginvoyages.com/promotions-terms-and-conditions says nothing! Maybe it was left in the popup copy when it was included as part of another promo (which may have now finished)

One annoying thing was the announcement one night at midnight in the cabins waking us up requesting staff to attend to an incident, but none of the bridge announcements of interest were heard in the cabins during the day, unless you ran outside the cabin into the corridor!

Whilst the daily reports from the bridge may be interesting they are non-essential. Emergency announcements are however essential. Depending on the nature of the incident you been woken up may speed up any evacuation later deemed required. It also gives situational awareness to other crew so if it is something dangerous they don't direct passengers right into it. Even on land it's common to have a (coded) pre-evacuation announcement often with the location included.

Yes but the staff were hardly likely to be in our cabins!

Not that far fetched that the ships doctor might be seeing to someone, maintenance might be dealing with no lighting in a cabin, room service with first aid training are delivering food, the list goes on. Also keep in mind many of the crew have safety critical roles beyond what passengers see.

  7. I've been updating the sheet as more links are posted.

@elynbeth if you post the incorrect link and correct departure date I can look up the correct details for you and correct.

Has anyone booked with the codes? Does the credit automatically appear for both? As was it for the correct amount given the checkout process shows $50 ?
