Can people advice me of things to consider in choosing?

I meant explorer rate, not expedition. How was that cruise?

Yes Patty, I paid the full amount upfront for the solo cost at expedition rate. So, hopefully, couldn't be bumped from cruise? Linda

I booked a solo cabin on the Serenity for the Valparaiso to Buenos Aires cruise in February 2025. All I could get was a guaranteed cabin at this point, everything was booked in this category. Anyone have experience with what is likely to happen? Thank you in advance.

Pinot, would you mind sharing what are the good, mediocre and substandard things to order. My cousin and I are going on the Regatta in Alaska in May. We have only been on a few cruises (and those were many years ago) and I would love hints on what to order. By the way, I do not expect to be disappointed. I have nothing to compare with, am excited to see Alaska and have some time with my cousin. We are so happy to have a balcony cabin on the starboard side heading south, and not to be cooking or cleaning. We would like hints on meals to avoid though.

We have an Alaska cruise booked on Regatta for May 2024. We booked with Olife, buying our own air, and selected $600 onboard credit. Would we be better off switching to Simply More? That one we would get $800 for excursions, plus beer and wine. Oceania excursions look expensive to me -- what have I not thought of for pros and cons? New to Oceania and first cruise in many years.
