  1. It could be because I told them I've been there lots of times previously and that I'm cruising with my 85/90 year old parents and wasn't going to put them in a taxi to get there and find out there are no lounge chairs around the pool left that they may be doing this for me.. BUT..  I will definitely report back and let you know what happens...

Adventure has not sailed from Ft Lauderdale yet this season so the menus are not available.   I would check on the Royal Caribbean app to get a general idea.  (These are usually pretty accurate).

Excellent point..    thanks for pointing that out...  Looked it up and Adventure starts next month out of Ft Ldle so if someone sees this or I can ask again early December....

  3. I tried to goggle it, I tried to search it here, I even posted on the Royal Caribbean site can someone PLEASE show me where I can find the menus for the 6 night Western Caribbean sailing on the Adventure of the Seas..   We want to make reservations for Chops but would like to know which night to make it based on whats being served each night...  Can anyone please show me where to find the menus?  We're not sailing until March 8th but want to put in our reservation request early.   THANK YOU SO MUCH...

  4. Thanks everyone..  I finally found a telephone # and called..  They only have package deals on line for reservations but yes,  I was told I can call them right before I leave home and let them know we're coming and they'll save 6 lounge chairs for us around the pool...  Just that type of Customer Service is the reason we keep going back there...

  5. I have emailed them now twice with no reply.   There are 6 of us and we just want to go to Paradise Beach, know we have lounge chairs reserved for us around the pool and eat/drink off the menu... no "special" package...   Do they still offer that?  Do I have to make a reservation for us?  What can I do to get them to respond?   I do not want to grab a taxi, get there and then find out (1) there are no lounge chairs available for us and (2) they only take reservations that include their package deals and no walk in...     Can someone help/advise me...  Thank you

  6. First time in a Suite (Junior) on Royal and interested in trying the Coastal Kitchen. I know it is only available to us lowly JS'ers for dinner on a "if available" basis.

    My questions...

...Is this something we try to reserve ahead of time or upon embarkation?

...Should we try for reservations each morning, hoping for cancellations?

...Should we just show up to the CK and hope for the best?

    UGH! First world problems!

  7. The bottom line is you are suppose to be on the ship and sailing to get DAYS CRUISED counted...    If one or two of you happen to get it without actually sailing, then good for you but someone at Carnival didn't do their job properly and might even be paying for it now....fired. let go or gone

Plus, what if someone who was close to Diamond decided, I can afford to pay the cheapest inside upper/lower cabin, not show up, get my days counted and then be Diamond on my next sailing... You'd be surprised how many people would be willing to do that to "work" their way up the ladder....

  8. Newbie here doing the Equinox in January.. Wanted so badly to rent an Alcove/Cabana but looking at the pictures, very disappointed and changed my mind...  Was hoping for some privacy and shade but this doesn't look like either...  Not a big deal but thought it would be something different … not this time...

You can't pre-reserve Coastal Kitchen if in a JS.  Simply go up there when you board and see if they have space available on the nights you want.  Be flexible with time and you should have no problem.  When in a JS we usually only do Coastal Kitchen one or two nights and have never had a problem.  But the priority goes to GS and higher.

thanks we'll go as soon as we board... the good thing is it's just the 2 of us so we're pretty much open to anytime that is available..

    JS perks on Symphony:

Dinner at Coastal Kitchen (space available basis)

    Priority check-in and boarding

    Tea kettle and coffee maker

Thank you...     How do I know if space is available and can I make reservations prior to boarding or do it as soon as we board?  I know on Carnival PRIORITY is on the boarding pass... how is it done for Royal?    AND....  most important...  My husband is going to be THRILLED to see a coffee maker in the cabin!!!   lol

  11. We booked cabin 7644 on the Symphony of the Seas... Have ALWAYS done ocean view only so wondering... what can we expect with a Jr Suite...  I tried reading up on it and got so confused decided you guys would answer me better!!!   Am I correct in saying we can eat in a different restaurant other than the main dining room?  Is it free?   Does a Jr Suite come with priority boarding or any other "perks"?  I read something about getting double points? Does that mean RCCL doubles your days counted?  Is that for both people in the cabin?     I'm very excited about the Jr Suite but also a wee bit nervous looking at pictures... I may never want to go back to an ocean view after this!!!!   Thanks for any and all the info you can give me....

  12. You are awesome for doing this... thank you so much.. I will be on the Allure 10/28 in cabin 3656. If you have a chance, I got a little bit nervous tonight when someone told me we'd have a lot of traffic of passengers going in and out of the dining room... Can you confirm if that is true? And if you happen to pass 3656 any additional information you can give me would be so appreciated.

Also, upon boarding, where would you recommend we go to eat before exploring the ship?

I am going to be following you the entire 2 weeks as I'm fairly new to Royal and looking forward to your review... Thanks so much for those pictures too ... WOW to some of those cabins...

  13. We have early seating which I understand is 5:30 and signed up

    Day 1.. Water Show @ 8:30

    Day 2 Mamma Mia @ 9:30

    Day 3 Comedy Live @ 9:00

    Day 4 Nothings It's Halloween

Day 5 Headlines @ 8:30 and Ice Show @ 9:30 (do we need a sweater or jacket for the Ice Show???)

Day 6 Blue Planet @ 8:00 and finally

    Day 7 Comedy @ 10:30 ..

How'd we do? Should we change anything or is this good? You guys have helped so much Thank You Again

  14. Great review and even better pictures... Mark & Macie.. just friends Mom??? lol I work at Port Everglades so if I ever see him (on the rare chance he is able to leave the ship) I am going to tell him what a great job his Mom did on her review... Glad you guys were able to do this and hopefully will again when Mark gets off the Conquest and on another ship (but only after coming home first!!

  15. Welcome aboard Elaine! I’m on the same Allure cruise and see that you have already joined our roll call. :D

Speaking from personal experience, definitely pre-book all the shows once reservations open. I try to check daily (login to your Royal Caribbean cruise planner account). I will post on the roll call when they open. Reservations are not made for certain shows like Quest and Love & Marriage but these will be listed in the “Showtimes at a Glance” flyer. Hopefully, someone will post one for an itinerary identical to ours soon.

Are your parents booked in their own stateroom? While there are currently no double occupancy handicapped accessible (HA) staterooms available, this might change with possible cancellations after final payment date (July 30th). There are currently HA inside and oceanview available for triple occupancy and suite for triple and quad. Perhaps if you speak with Special Needs, they would let your parents book one of these or, if not, advise you whether they can take the scooter away at night. Unless your parents are in a HA cabin or junior suite, while they MIGHT be able to fit the scooter through the doorway, there will be little room in the cabin to fit it and it cannot be left in the hallway.

Someone just posted a link to the compasses (including Showtimes at a Glance and departure info) for the May 27th Allure sailing. Same as our October 28th itinerary. Click here to check them out.

Thank you Judy and everyone else. They have their own cabin.. .. I think my husband would divorce me if we had to share!! You guys are awesome.. lots of good suggestions and information... I have another question... I believe there is an adult only pool (or 16 and over?)... is that correct, which one is it and how difficult is it to get lounges on the sea days?

Oh, the link doesn't work :(

  16. You are not required to reserve shows. If you don't reserve, you will have to stay in a stand-by line until around 10 minutes before the show, so your choice of seats may not be good. This is even more of a problem at the comedy show, where the venue is small.

If you don't clear the wait list for early dining before the cruise, you can try again once you are onboard.

    Staterooms usually open around 1pm.

Thank you but..... I want to if we can reserve shows in advance... Having my 84/89 year old parents wait on line is not a good option at all... So, where and when can I do that? Thanks

  17. Hi everyone...Carnival cruiser here looking forward to cruising RCCL... We cruised Royal in 1998 and just off the Enchantment last month BUT... going on the Allure in October and really need help..

    1. Do we or do we not have to sign up for the shows prior to boarding? If we have to sign up prior, is this something that can be done now or 90 days before sailing? Once we are signed up, how soon before the show should we arrive to get good seats?

    2. Can you tell me what times the shows normally start? Also, how long is Mamma Mia? And the other shows?

    3. Dinner in the dining room... how do the passengers dress? Can men wear nice shorts? Are there 2 formal nights on a 7 night cruise?

    4. Right now we have YTD but going to try and change to Early... Other than being on a wait-list, is this something we have to wait and try to change once on board?

    5. What time are we allowed to go to our cabins boarding day?

    6. Does anyone know who the CD is for the Allure 10/28 sailing?

    7. My Mom has an electric scooter but was not able to get a Handicap Cabin... on the Enchantment the Steward came every night, took the scooter, recharged it overnight and had it back in the morning. Do they do this on all the ships?

    7. What are some of the things we absolutely have to do and see on the Allure?

Seriously, any and all information, advice, help you can give us is very much appreciated... We had such a great time on the Enchantment we wanted to try Royal again but we didn't have to sign up for shows on the Enchantment and I've seen people post that you do... Boarded late so our cabin was ready... And Enchantment was only a 4 day with 3 Ports so very little time was spent on the ship exploring although everyone was so nice, friendly, smiled and greeted us..

    Thank you everyone...

  18. Medical emergency --- the Magic had to make a stop in Cozumel and is not due into Port Canaveral until approximately 9:45 tomorrow morning.

Bring your patience if on this sailing as things will be hectic, especially because there are going to be those passengers who ignore their email to arrive later or some who say they never got one (which is quite possible) ..Even some who are flying in and might arrive to the Port early... Be nice to the Port Agents... they're also on a different schedule, having been asked to come in later and stay even later...

  19. Just be prepared, we booked fantastica a year ago and we still ended up with 945pm

I show early on my boarding pass but it's just my husband & myself so time is not so important as eating in a "real" dining room is... I'll let you know next Saturday!!!

  20. After getting your dining room and table assignment, has anyone tried to go to the dining room and check it out, i.e, location and size ? My husband and I would prefer to eat just the 2 of us and would like to find out before having to go to dinner if we can...

Also, is the Maitre'd or a Restaurant Hostess available prior to dinner to answer questions or change things if not happy?
