We was on the Dream in December and asked for twice a day service and we got twice a day service.

The time before that on the Dream, we asked for twice a day service and was lucky if we got once a day.

I was disappointed with the overall service on that ship both times we have been on her.

If you like seafood and have a vehicle, there are many good seafood restaurants on the causeway just a short drive from downtown, across the river. There are many good restaurants downtown, too.

Yes, I've looked at that guide several times, was wanting more of a "they have really good ..... here" or "you need to try .... from here" though. :)

DH isn't a big seafood fan so wanting to find more of a burger joint or something that has a good variety. Its going to be us and 5 of our kids!

Thank you everyone for your replies! We won't be arriving until around 3pm Sunday afternoon so I figure our options are pretty limited, just don't want to spend all that time in our room.

What about restaurants? Any place you would recommend for a family?

We always take a fan with us. Its battery operated or you can plug it in. Never had a problem. We got it several years ago at Walmart.

We went in December last year. Bring a jacket or sweater because when you head back it will start getting cooler. It was so windy and cold one morning and that evening, I was glad I had decided to bring one.

We have been on the Dream several times and on the Elation a couple times too and between the two, the Elation was my favorite. I am a little disappointed there is no dive in movies, but I'll get over that.

We are looking at a cruise leaving out of Mobile in November. What is there to do on a Sunday night before we head out? Anything fun and family oriented?

We are also looking at a November booking. Yes, you can use your photo ID and birth certificate and I've used FTTF on other cruises and it was nice being able to go right to the room and get it organized before joining the fun. :)

We took our family there a couple years ago and plan to go again this year. Everyone had a blast. The beach was nice and the service was excellent. There was only a handful of people when we went, but there was plenty of chairs and tables available. We just left our bags and stuff sitting under the table. Nothing was bothered. The staff played games with the guests and you can win prizes. It was just an all around fun day.

No more than a 5 minute walk. Walk out of the port, go left on the main road. It's on the left side of the street, viewing the port.

I always look forward to elegant nights and it doesn't matter to me what others wear. I am on vacation for me and my family, we look amazing and that's all that matters to me.

I'd pick the older ship, new ports and better price.

Like others have said, if they have never cruised before, don't stress it. Our first cruise was on a smaller ship and those have ended up being our favorite.
