We are staying at the Residence Inn in Jamaica. Is that not a good hotel? It had decent reviews.

Help! Our cruise departs on November 5...the same day of the NYC marathon. Will we even be able to get to the terminal? Our hotel is right by JFK so we will have to cross the marathon path to even get to the terminal. I've tried finding other hotels near the terminal, but they're 4x the cost of my current hotel. Does anyone have advice?

Well I have a new hiccup!! I just found out that our cruise departs the day of the NYC marathon. How horrible is it going to be trying to get from our hotel to the port? Looks like we have to cross over the marathon route at one point.

Wow, thank you so much! The direct taxi ride to the port seems the easiest (although most expensive). It does stink that the hotel isn’t near anything good in NYC. But we are only there for one afternoon/evening so I’m not sure it matters. Do you know the name of the local bus system that I could look up the routes and see where they go? Maybe we could at least take it to dinner.

We are staying at the Residence Inn New York JFK Airport. We are only planning to take the shuttle from the airport to the hotel the night before. Then on Sunday taking some form of transportation from the hotel to the port. If you have recommendations based on where we're staying, I'd love to hear them!!

Does anyone happen to know what terminal MSC pulls into for the Miami port day? I'm trying to figure out things to do that day (any recommendations??) and when I was trying to look for directions to different spots, google maps keeps wanting me to choose a terminal.

I've booked a hotel that's near JFK since we fly into JFK the night before our cruise and they have a free shuttle from the airport. Is it going to be a nightmare to get to the Brooklyn cruise terminal on a Sunday? Do you have a recommended transportation method?

Someone posted about this elsewhere and they said if they logged out and logged back in it fixed it. Not sure if that will fix it for you but I thought I'd mention it!

Good morning! I booked the Meraviglia last night and am doing research on what to expect. I keep seeing people mention all the themed nights, but I cannot find that info anywhere on my cruise booking. I must be looking in the wrong place. Where do I find when the special dinners/themed nights are (i.e. formal night, white night, etc)?
