  1. My toddler got really sick one day on our cruise in April, so my husband and I were staying in the room so he could rest. My parents went to the MDR and called us b/c our server offered to send up dinner with them. They even had plain pasta made for kiddo.

  2. What they said above. But cabin type can also make a difference.

On our last cruise in April, we were originally booked in (2) 4K cabins (interior w/ obstructed french doors). We booked over a year in advance and the price never dropped a single dollar and I checked until right before we left just out of curiosity. The price of balcony cabins did drop right after final payment and we were able to upgrade one of our cabins w/ $60 OBC (casino offer) and $80 upgrade cost for the other cabin. The 2nd cabin got a $60 price drop about a week after that.

  3. Another vote for Bernard's tour.

It was a couple years ago that we did it but it really was a great tour. We got to see and spend a bit of time at quite a few 'hot spots': Orient beach, Maho beach, Margot (try Sarafina's! yumm!) and dropped back off in Philipsburg with enough time to go check out the Star Wars museum (!!!!!!) before heading back to the ship

  4. Also the Vista is going to have cove balcony suites that can fit 5. (Harbor family suites)

With a family of 5, I would highly consider price comparing 2 cabins. 5 people sharing a bathroom doesn't sound like fun to me. Not saying that I haven't done it with with more people sharing a camping trailer.

  5. On our honeymoon cruise out of Puerto Rico, DH & I were put at a table with a bunch of local couples. It would have been okay except that I don't speak Spanish and they didn't speak any English. DH had to translate but it's awkward when everyone is laughing and I was sitting there waiting to find out what the joke was. 😕

I understand why we were set up at that table. We had no flight info b/c we were staying in PR for a week before/after the cruise. My husband is from PR and has a Hispanic last name. And we were all in our late 20s & early 30s. On paper the seating arrangements made sense.

We didn't bother to change tables, it wasn't that big of a deal.

  6. I think the Splendor is eventually going west as it is on the Hawaii Port Authority Schedule in October 2017 and December 2017. The Miracle will be in Tampa because Bare Necessities Tour and Travel (nude cruise) has it chartered in February of 2017 out of Tampa.

I think so too. I think they must be waiting on an update of the Panama Canal completion

  7. What room are you in? Victory doesn't have any obstructed balconies according to the GOCCL website

The following staterooms (Category 4J) have obstructed views; outside the stateroom is a small observation deck that all guests have access to. The windows are tinted so you cannot see inside the stateroom during the day. A sign inside the stateroom reads: "Please keep the window curtain at night time closed for the safety of navigation."

  8. You could also ask them to put the band around you child's ankle. That's what we did with my 19 month old. When we go on our next one, he'll be 3 and I'll ask them to do the same. He wouldn't be able to keep a band on. The little Houdini has escaped from several full arm casts.

  9. I just looked at the deck plans and I don't see anything marked conference room.

Maybe I'm just not seeing it. Do you know which deck?

ETA: Google says it can hold up to 232 and has dividers/partions to be made smaller rooms

  10. Can you tell me more about the waterworks on Magic?

You said the slides are 36" but is that for the big slides? Or for the kid sized ones?

Thinking of booking for next year. My kiddo would be 3 but he's floats around the 1%-3% for height and weight.

  11. My paperwork said to show up at 1p but we had FTTF show we arrived to the port at about 11a.

The regular line was very, very long (and a review from another cruiser said it took them 1.5 hours to get on). We were 2nd in line in the FTTF line. And we were on the ship dropping off our luggage in our room w/i 30 minutes.

Arrive when it's convenient for you.

  12. I was on a huge search for a stroller for our cruise. I have a BOB as my regular stroller, but it's way to huge for a cruise.

I got this Kolcraft stroller from Walmart for $50. It has a huge canopy and a very large basket underneath. It folds flat and fit perfectly under our bed on Carnival. It doesn't recline flat, but it is enough for my 1 1/2 year old to nap.

  13. We didn't use the babysitting. My parents came with us, so they watched him on 2 nights so that we could go spend time at Alchemy one night and go to the adult comedy on another.

I did take him to play twice

Kiddo got sick the morning of Cabo but otherwise it was great. He loved running around the ship, swimming in PV (we went to an AI resort), and the frozen yougurt machine
