I enjoyed reading you review and glad that you two had a good time. I am just as sad that you review has come to an end that you are about the cruise coming to an end! haha
I love the Fantasy class ships and hate to see them dwindeling away. The Elation is still a very nice ship to be almost 30 years old. I will be sad the day that the last two Fantasy class ships are gone.

The dining room was still pretty quick but alas, showtime was a little earlier than previous nights and we would up being there for the performance. I guess it's OK. We ate dessert. One night in five isn't bad at all. This night would be a conga line.
We both had a garden salad for an appetizer. I had chicken parm and Ron had pepper steak for an entrée. I had chocolate ice cream, and he had a banana split for dessert. It was all very tasty, as it has been all week. Way to go, Elation!
Epic Rock was playing in the Mikado theatre at 7:30. I had seen it several times, but I always enjoy it. I think it’s one of my favorite Playlist shows.
I don't think I remember this guitar decoration from before.
I definitely remember the speaker screen from before.
After Epic Rock, we didn’t yet have enough music, so we went in search of whatever else was available. We first stopped to hear Kenny J. He was pretty good. He was a soloist with an acoustic guitar. I didn't get a picture of him. We listened to him for a while and then wandered up to the Drama Bar to catch a little of Music Manila. They had been playing all week, but we had missed them until this point.
We'll get a better seat for the next show!
The Drama Bar is basically the bar immediately beside the casino and basically a wide spot in the hall. A small stage is positioned on the side in front of a window. There were quite a few people already listening to these guys and we quickly discovered why. They are really good!
Music Manila is a group of four guys. There is a lead guitar, bass guitar, piano and drums. They play 70’s and 80’s music. It appears that they've been performing on Carnival ships for many years. I think what made them so much fun is that THEY were having a ball performing. It’s always fun to watch people who enjoy what they are doing! We watched them for quite a while and decided to head for bed. We were tired. Tomorrow would be our very last day. Ugh! Time goes by so quickly on a cruise!
I have to agree that Music Manilla was one of the better cruise bands that we have saw in several cruises! Those guys wer certainly entertaining and put on a good show.

That's awesome! We barely missed each other!
I honestly don't remember it? The FunTimes mentions "The Wave" morning show so I'm guess that might be it? To be honest, I've never gone to "The Wave" before. I think I watched it on the big screen once a long time ago.
Hope you had as good a sailing as we did. Was your cruise the one that missed Freeport due to the propulsion issues?
May that is why I didn't catch it with the name being different.
We had a great time. We were the delayed sailing cruise that missed Freeport. But we had a blast. A lot of people made that cruise a miserable trip for themselves. But not us. I also agree that the food was really good. There were a few dishes here and there not as good, but it was great.

We were on the sailing that got off the day that you got on. I agree the the food was great! One thing that I just thought about that I didn't notice when we were on board was the seaday morning show with the cruise director. Is that still a thing? Do you know or did you notice if they had it still?

Same thing for Charleston the last several cruises from there... they told us to have our passport and birth certificates out and ready, then it was an empty building besides the luggage handlers.
-
I need to jump to the newer larger ships then! My last few cruises have been on the Elation and Sunshine, and the A/C isn't get on those.
-
Maybe it is just the cruises that i have been on. We keep our A/C on 70, and the ships use to seem fine to us, but lately, they have been warmer.

Does anyone else feel that this is another Carnival cut back? Increasing the temperature around the ship and rooms to save on energy costs or something? Our list 3-4 cruises, the ships have been rather warm. Our cabin rarely seems to get below 73-74 degrees now, and maintenance always says that is normal. Even when our cabin was 77-79 degrees two cruises ago, they said anything below 80 was acceptable!

I just got off Monday and had the same issue. I had free drinks everywhere. My other three cabin mates did not. They were trying to make me buy the package again at the casino bar when purchasing. I asked him to call a manager. The manager came up and was able to over ride the system so I didn't have to purchase it again. Since one wanted it, all three had to buy it since they were over 21, which is what they wanted anyways.

My dad and brother just got there. Back in 3 weeks from the time they signed until in their hand.

The Fantasy class is my favorite ships! They are certainly going to be missed when the remaining two are gone!

In Yor County, SC, the solicitor doesn't play with bad checks. Contact your county solicitor bad check unit and see if they can do anything.

That stinks! You lose an hour of cruising!

At check in. You can wait and add the day before sailing if you want to wait and check in the day before.

I dread seeing the Paradise and Elation go. We love the Fantasy class ships! The atrium still amazes me every time we walk onboard.

We try to get early. We don't care for anytime dining either. Reasons for early is so we can catch the shows and comedy show. Also since late dining follow early dining, we feel that things often move faster since they have to reset the diinng room for the next seating.

Anybody know why the Elation is not in port yet? 0700 Feb 1, today is return day.
I saw a Facebook post that they are a drift at sea 25 miles from port. They are waiting on a tug boat.

Carnival will automatically add $16.00 per day, per guest to your onboard account for standard accommodations
Do you have to wait to the last day to do anything or can you do adjustments during the cruise??....On HAL my wife can go to the front desk any time during the cruise and fill out a form to how much she wants to pay.....and then the bill at the end is automatically adjusted to the new amount as an example.....Thanks
I assume you are going to adjust it for more, and not remove them. These people literally work their butts off for quest. Please don't remove or lower the tip amount...

I know this is almost two years old, but it is an interesting read! We has passports, but never carry them off the ship... I always make sure I take a credit card off the ship for emergencies and when I travel. You never know when an issue will arise, such as this. Also, asking the host for a comped Atlantis room is a great idea. If I am ever stranded in Nassau, that will be my hotel choice. I don't know how comping works since I have never gambled there, but I am sure my Vegas host could back me for a room...

We got the earliest time for our upcoming Elation cruise (1030). Earliest I have ever seen at Jacksonville port. It also stated that final boarding is at 2pm with the ship leaving the pier at 330pm (also the earliest I have seen-used to be 430pm). Showed another post to hubbs because he always gets mad when I go to the front of the line thinking I am line jumping. The post said to go to front if you are there at your arrival time because many people are in line waiting for their appointed time (seeing as we have the earliest appointment.😁)
We had a 10am for the Elation last cruise and did the same thing, went around the line since we were there within our check-in window.

Nope. Four cruises, three Vegas Trips, six flights, four concerts, no masks and no covid... but I have my own office at work rarely are close to coworkers and caught the covid and flu within two months of each other last year...
but I ALWAYS come back with a sinus infection every time I travel, pre-covid and now...

We cruised the elation last summer, and did not deal with that line outside the terminal. We went around it, showed our boarding pass to the agent because it was our check in time, we skipped 3/4 of the line, which was outside the building.

The box thing on the Elation isn't much of a "fridge". It just keeps things slightly below room temperature. Certainly a waste of space. It is not a true mini fridge.

wow that is unacceptable to meThen make sure you book a specific cabin... and you will avoid it. Cheaper isn't always the best option...

We thought the same thing last July and this past April. Last July, our room never got below 76* and they claimed it was normal! I am hot natured and the common areas use to be very comfortable to me in the past and the rooms use to get cool. But not anymore. Especially the elation,
