Thanks everyone, I now have loads of options. :D:D

You don't need to stay in Southampton, there are Premier Inn etc hotels on the rout via the a 34. Shorter run on evening run and a leisurely drive on the sail morning.
We have done this often.
David
Thanks David, I'm struggling with the website to find them en route, can you recommend any?
Thanks
Tina

I've got free parking with CPS as part of the select fare, so ok for parking

Hubby and I are sailing from Southampton for the first time next year, we live in Lancashire which is at least a 5 hour drive to Southampton. We don't want to leave travelling down until the day we sail in case of breakdowns/hold ups etc.
The problem is that we both have to work the day before sailing, so will not be able to travel down until the evening, which will make it around midnight when we arrive.
We don't want to pay a lot as it will just be a place to get our heads down, I have looked at the Premier Inn West Quay but the multi storey car park is not open that late.
Can anyone recommend anywhere where there is parking on site?
TIA

Because of all the problems with hand luggage allowances, itinerary changes and OBC I shall have to purchase extra luggage allowance to take all of this paperwork!!!!!!!
We should not be put in the position of having to request individual letters from Thomson, the customer service kings. It is better to try to resolve now so as not to have a detrimental effect on the cruise.
Len
I keep all the emails on my phone in a folder marked Thomson. Then I can always refer to them when required!!!!

they are showing up until january 2017

then next cruise embarking sharm 6th december disembark dubai on 21st december (14 nights) ... a strange move from thoms?
No flights from Manchester for this one, I hope that's just a website error

Our TA has indicated that although the Dubai cruise can be booked on Celebration from today they are not releasing the new brochure until 18th December:eek: also confirmed that Dream and Discovery are in the Caribbean. The impression they gave me was that booking details would be on the web for online bookings tomorrow:rolleyes: we will wait and see but they are probably a little busy at the moment with other problems:)
They are online today, just searching for the repositional

On the Celebration and Spirit there are both USA and European sockets, don't use the USA as its only 110 volts and takes forever to charge anything! I take an extension lead plugged into the 220 volt and plug all my chargers into that

Try cruise timetables.com, go to the date you are in port, it will show which ships are in that date and at what time, go onto each ship and it will give you the capacity

I think it's a website glitch, the cruise I have booked is Cuban Revolution followed by pride of Panama but today the website says Cuban Revolution followed by Cuban Revolution!!!
-
Sorry forgot to say no charge for airport check in, it's just like it was years ago, just turn up with your bags.
-
Just came back yesterday, you can't check in online only at the airport. Check in opens 3 hours before flight in our case at 3am!! Quite slick, you don't collect baggage in Genoa, it arrives at your cabin.
-
Santiago de Cuba and Holguin have also been taken off Cuban Revolution, still awaiting to be informed by Thomson!! I can understand having to change itinerary's due to operational reasons but there is absolutely no excuse not to inform customers. They manage to email me several times a week trying to sell me another holiday but seem incapable of sending something of importance.

Is there anywhere on embarkation day where you can store hand luggage? We are on the 6am flight and wanted to see some of Genoa before muster drill.

I have an early saver booked for September, on the CP/ dining there is a link to register your dining choice, about a third of the way down below Early Saver Bookers above Your Dining Choice. You register your choice here.

We live within 10 miles of Liverpool, just the other side of the river, so have no first hand knowledge of parking for cruises from there.
My hunch is that the parking as mentioned previously would be the best bet, but I am wondering if your father lives in Lancashire as you appear to do so. If so, has he considered coming in by train as the terminal is very centrally placed, so a very short taxi ride from Lime Street Station. Depending upon the length of cruise, the parking fee saved may even make it worth while booking a hotel the night before for a relaxing start to the holiday.
The link below is for the cruise terminal's website and may be of some use to you.

I doubt there are enough cruises from Liverpool for there to be any other car parks available with good access to the city centre - although I could be wrong on that. There is parking at the airport, but that is a long way out, so he would presumably need to get the airport bus into the centre of town (I think that is the 500, but not sure if that is still the case).
Happy searching,
Barbara
Thanks Barbara, my Father lives in the Lake District and is semi disabled, he would never manage on the train along with his luggage as it would require at least one change. He drives and he has booked with a friend so would require 2 hotel rooms as neither would share! I think his best solution would be the cps parking.
We had heard that they weren't doing Fred cruises anymore but I talked to them today and we had been misinformed

My father is going on his first Fred Cruise next May sailing from Liverpool. What are his best parking options?

What time are cabins ready on a fly cruise? Flying to Genoa in September and should be on Oceana before 11am, wondering when we will be able to drop off hand luggage. I fancy going out and about in Genoa but don't fancy wandering round with all the money and cards etc
-
Can't comment on the extra luggage, but been on Dreamliner twice. More legroom and better in flight entertainment, also free drinks. I always go in PE, loads of room, and more luggage

We are on our first P&O cruise in September Genoa to Venice. Does anyone know which nights will be the formal nights?
We are planning on booking the select restaurants but don't want to book on formal night.
TIA

Thanks for your help Tripalot!

Tripalot, please can you tell me what time you arrived in Venice? We are doing Genoa to Venice in September and have been looking at a walking tour in Venice, but it leaves St Marks at 2pm. Is it possible do you think? TIA

We are doing our first p&o cruise in September Genoa to Venice. Does anyone know what the arrival time is in Venice, the itinerary just states early afternoon. I was hoping to do a private walking tour which meets in St Marks at 2pm. Will this be possible?

Thanks Len from the T******* site!!! We have free CPS parking as booked a select fare, There was only£100 difference between select and saver, and extra obc due to promotion and "free" parking there wasn't much in it, so booked select to confirm freedom dining. Having been with T********* so many years the thought of fixed dining scars me!!!:eek::eek:
