The first ship that arrives at 8:00 will probably have an all-aboard of 2:00. So you should have a few hours in the afternoon for just your ship.

At the end of the pier is the entrance to the Skyride to Paradise Point (Home of the original Bushwacker Drink). Great view of the harbor. Must do at least one time. I always end my day at Paradise Point with a burger and a drink.

Thank you for the info. How would I know if I booked under early saver? I booked online with a discount for my VIFP number.

Is it true that if you have booked directly with Carnival you will get OBC's for price drops up to 3 days prior to sailing?

I took my first cruise in 1983. My wife wanted to visit an island for a week and we did all of the research and couldn't make up our minds as to which would be the best island to visit. So we chose a Southern Caribbean cruise sailing from Barbados to San Juan, visiting a different island each day. That way we could determine which would be our favorite island and then return for a longer stay. Well, needless to say, I became hooked on cruising. The most amazing thing about our first cruise was the vast variety of history and culture. We visited French, Dutch, Spanish, and British cultures, and all with a Caribbean flare. The history of these islands is diverse and fascinating. And the beauty is unparalelled. All of the interests that you mentioned in your initial statement can be found on the islands that the Valor will be visiting. I have chosen this Valor cruise for my Grandson's Graduation gift next month. My plan is to treat him to a great fun time and at the same time expose him to a world of history and culture. Whatever you decide you WILL have a phenomenal time. I have never been on a bad cruise.

NCL debuted the Solo Cabin with a Solo Lounge (The Living Room) several years ago with the EPIC. These are, I believe, 108 cabins all on a separate hallway on decks 11 and 12. They run down the center of the ship (all inside cabins) and in the center part of the hallway they funnel into a two story lounge area which has its own TVs and Bar staffed with a bartender during certain hours. Every eveining at 5, there is a solo get together with a staff member that organizes groups of solo activities for that evening and the following day. These hallways and the solo lounge are separated from the rest of the ship and require a special passkey to enter. I was on the Epic in 2012 and 2013 in the Solo Cabins. It was great for bringing together Solo passengers in an informal and casual atmosphere. You can choose to participate or not. As for the entertainment, it was fantastic and very Las Vegas style; Blue Man Group, Circus de Solei, and Legends just to name a few. The ship is huge with 21 dining venues and 20 bars and lounges. The Solo Cabin was such a great sucess that NCL included the concept in their new builds; the Breakaway and Getaway. I would suggest that you read up on this concept. Other lines are now following suit and creating Solo Cabins. Hope this helps.

Just across the street from Havensight Pier is the entrance to the Skyride up to Paradise Point. What an amazing view of the Harbor of Charlotte Amalie. This is also the home of the drink called Bushwacker. Have a drink and a burger and just soak up the embience. I always end my day here when in St Thomas just before I return to the ship. Also, if you take a tour of the Island or want to just take a taxi, I suggest a ride up to Mountain Top. Again, a wonderful view of the entire Island and also home of the Banana Daiquiri. If doing downtown shopping, I would venture into Magic Ice to cool yourself off and have a few drinks in an atmosphere made totally out of ice. I plan to do all of this on my Valor cruise at the end of June.

Go to Youtube and search HMC Cabana Tour. A very thoughtful passenger walked down the beach at HMC to tour all of the existing Cabanas a few years ago giving the pros and cons of their locations. Very helpful. As a result of his tour, I booked Cabana #6 in July, 2012. It was central to most everything and near the Pirate Ship Bar so we could listen to all of the festivities while in the water. This was worth every penny for the day. You also get on the first tender to the Island.

Did you notice who is singing in the Ivory Piano Bar? We loved Roger on past cruises. He is great?
Thanks for your feedback and review.

With todays computerization, the ship computers know who has not checked back into the ship before leaving port. You would be missed!! In fact, on other threads, it has been said that, if the captain decides to leave without waiting for all passengers to return, ships personnel will enter your cabin, open your safe, and if there is a passport in the safe, they will leave it with the port authority so you will have a better chance of catching up with the ship at the next port.

Can anybody here pass me a beer
And I'mma keep playing this music that you hear
And if you know the song
Then come and sing along with me
Walking with the beach to my left
Sea to my right
And I'mma get faded at the Tiki bar tonight
Then I'mma roll one up
Like my name is Bob
Yeah I'm gonna party like I'm a Jamaican
If you really wanna know where you can find me
I'll be unwinding
Down in the islands, down in the islands
You should loose track of your timing
Grab a drink beside me
Down in the islands, down in the islands
Can anybody here pass me the rum
And we can find somebody who can play the steel drums
And if you like this beat then everybody dance with me
We got the ladies to the left
Fellas to the right
And everybody's faded at the Tiki bar tonight
And we are gonna dance to the rhythm of the waves
While we drink Bacardi by the bonfire flames
If you really wanna know where you can find me
I'll be unwinding
Down in the islands, down in the islands
You should loose track of your timing
Grab a drink beside me
Down in the islands, down in the islands
You don't need no invitation, no
Whoaaa
If you're looking for relaxation
Get away, get away with me
Make your destination my location
If you really wanna know where you can find me
I'll be unwinding
Down in the islands, down in the islands
You should loose track of your timing
Grab a drink beside me
Down in the islands, down in the islands
If you really wanna know where you can find me
I'll be unwinding (down, down, down, down)
Down in the islands, down in the islands
You should loose track of your timing
Grab a drink beside me
Down in the islands, down in the islan

Can you tell me who is performing in the Ivory Piano Bar? Roger has been great on past cruises on the Pride.

Were you able to hook up with Cosol or James after Spencer did not show? Thanks

How much is the pass for posh? If you are booked in a suite do you automatically have access?
Also does the Dawn have this area.
Tan
Thanks!
Tam
Access to the Posh area is free if you are in the Haven. I paid $60 in December for the whole week. It was not crowded then and well worth it for the solitude. I am told that they sell only 20 passes in addition to the Haven guests. Don't know about the Dawn.

I've never been asked anything. I even put down 3 cartons of cigs and don't have a problem.
This reminds me of an incident that's funny now but not when it happened. I was with my kids in London and when we went through customs the guy asked my son "So you know this lady?" My son looked at me and said "No,I've never seen here before in my life." I was flabbergasted! He was 8! How did he come up with that? He's a clone so when the guy looked at me and then at my son he laughed and we were cleared. I laugh now but it wasn't funny then!
LOL! You just made my day. What kids will sometimes come up with.

Great Review NC. It is ashamed, though, that it had to finish in the Toilet. HeHeHe. Just being naughty. Thanks again.
