Well, it was the wonderful postings by you and others that convinced us to continue with the 2/7 cruise even after O FINALLY granted us approval to postpone.

Glad it finally worked out for you and hope you have a great cruise.

Reading this board, Oceania's answers to requests to p/p or cancel for fcc were all over the place and continually changing: Yes, no, yes but only 50% credit, maybe-but you have to cancel first and then we'll decide. Made these decisions excruciating for a number of folks who posted here and, I'm sure for others that didn't post.

I made reservations myself, online for my recent TA on Riviera. I was in PH1, and my family was not (Concierge or balcony). I needed their booking number. I was able to make the reservations when my statement level opened up, which was prior to their access in a non-PH stateroom.

    Thanks!

When we have been in a PH, we have no trouble getting reservations 75 days in advance and including our friends. On an upcoming cruise, two of us have PH’s and were able to include our other friends in our reservations.
    Ciao, Mauibabes

Did you make these reservations yourself, online?

    Thanks

We will be cruising with you on 1/28.   And a special thanks to those onboard the last two cruises who by posting at this site, gave us the ability to say "yes" to this cruise!

Please consider posting during your cruise. Would be helpful to many.

  5. If anybody has info to share on which company's policies insure against the cruise company going out of businsess/bankruptcy, would be good to know. Used to be many policies did, with the general exception of the cruise company's own policy. Now this coverage is more difficult to find.  Thanks.

In closing I will not be doing this thread on the next 14 day cruise that starts Friday.

Great appreciation for your work on this.  I'm grateful, and I'm sure a great many others, especially those on upcoming Riviera Caribbean cruises, are grateful as well.  Thanks, again.

There was a great news announcement during lunch from our Captain; the guest who was taken last night and disembarked starboard side to St Maarten for

medical assistance was successful and she is doing fine.  Bravo Oceania 👏

No details given on condition or whether Covid? Would understand if not; privacy considerations.

Last night the announcement to the Guests before the show was "report anyone who is not wearing a mask to a crew member and we will get Security."

Who will be the first wife to report a husband, or vice versa?

Well we are in Miami ready to get on the ship.  Oceania refused to let us move to a later date or give us FCC.  Oceania shame on you.  We will try to be careful and do our best to enjoy the cruise. Today is my 80th Birthday

    Hinda and Bill

Hope your cruise resembles the typically wonderful cruise on Oceania.

If you have a chance, if you could report back on your cruise, I'm sure many folks here would be appreciative.  Many of us are wondering about to what extent  and where the masking policy is enforced, whether the entertainment, music venues, and restaurants are as normal, and whether you stop at and are able to enjoy the various ports.

    Good luck, and enjoy!

Post #11 on that same thread

    Posted December 31, 2021
Our TA said they did not reinstate the Reassurance plan for January and February cruises. She said it’s case by case.

We also fear being told to isolate in a small room.

That's a different poster than the OP, who was told something different by their TA. The truth of the matter is, until Regent or Oceania officially post something, we rely on what Cruise Critic posters say.

My TA said early last week that Oceania would consider a request for a future cruise credit, but only after we cancelled. In other words, we  had to cancel first, and then take our chances as to whether they'd give us an FCC or nothing.

You may want to read that thread. Apparently, the TA requested and was granted an exception. Note as well that this occurred in the UK market, which often has different policies and practices than here in the US.

There is absolutely no indication from the OP that the poster or the poster's TA requested an exception. The Poster posted nothing more on the subject in that thread. B/T/W, of course I read the thread before posting. Assuming you read the thread so know that others were treated similarly.

Here are some more quotes on the thread from other posters:

"I had to have a replacement cruise booked to move the paid fare, rather than an FCC that has more flexibility. We found a cruise that costs more, actually, so the fare difference is on us. Not sure if we booked a cheaper cruise what would have happened but I suspect the paid fare would have been lost."

" We also moved a February 2022 cruise to a similar cruise 2023, the new cruise is more expensive so we will need to pay the difference when final payment time comes. If we wanted a FCC we would be limited to selecting from 2022 cruises."

Of course, I don't know the details other than as posted. We shall see what O does.

  12. "We were scheduled to sail on the Splendor February 3rd and had many of the same concerns as CruiserfromMaine. On Tuesday we found out that Regent was generously offering to reinstate their Reassurance program for January and February departures. We took advantage. We found another voyage, exact same itinerary on the same ship departing virtually one year later. Our TA made the switch easily and even offered to cover the cost difference. We are sad but relieved and looking forward with hope to our next scheduled voyage, the Mariner in October."

Others report similar. See this thread.
