We just recently (twice) rented from both Avis & Budget at their location's on

99 Southeast 2nd Street, SE 1st Ave at, Miami, FL 33131...

They share the same building and are very close to the port and offer a comp shuttle to and from POM. No need for the hassle at MIA.

If you're a Costco member check their website...this is where we get the best rates. Even though at times MIA is a few $'s cheaper than the offsite offices it's not worth the hassle and then paying for transportation to get there.

    Thank you

Personal choice is good. Now I'm curious though since I've not gone from POM to MIA.  How much will it cost four people to get to MIA?

Good question but i have to believe less than 60 🤷🏼‍♀️

we drive back to Venice so either MIA or FLL is acceptable

For one thing I don't like the drive and traffic between Miami and FLL.  I believe the car rental company has cheaper rates in FLL than MIA. The demand is higher in MIA. So for $15pp, I let the transportation company do the driving and drop me off at the rental doorway..

thanks.  Our cruise ends in Mia but there are 4 of us so it would be an additional 60$ to get to fll so I guess we will stick with that.

We're using them again this coming December for an Onward Caribbean cruise and plan to use them for our Quest sailing ending in Miami October 2025 to rent a vehicle at FLL.

Can you tell me why you rent in FLL and not MIA?

we have a car on hold at MIA for our return

    is FLL the better option

    thank you

  5. We booked a year out for our sailing and there were excursions that were already sold out.  Some ports had 1 tour and it was a walking tour.

there have been a few tours added in the past month but most are walking tours.

we prefer crystal to SSEA but found pricing similar and SSea included excursions

when you are unable to get an excursion that is of interest, the included excursions no longer factor in to costs.  Will be looking at Crystal next go round.

Sadly, we’ve never sailed in a suite, and happily, we’ve never experienced any friction in the laundry room 😊

We have only sailed Azamara once and we were upgraded from a balcony to a suite.  Alas it was 10 years ago when still part of rccl.

I think that is a really negative side of allowing people to book excursions as soon as they put a deposit on a cruise.

I have no issue with that however, they are charging me for excursions and there aren’t any

  8. We are booked in January on the moon.  Originally there were a few excursions listed per port.  If there are any listed now, they are full.  You cannot even waitlist.  9 months out.

not feeling like we are getting what we paid for.

Just received our room assignment about 3 months out. Got upgraded to a  superior veranda from a vista on the Dawn, so I’m happy.

I hope everyone else with gtys also gets upgraded and receives their assignments in advance. I don’t think I would have been happy waiting until we boarded, especially since looks like cruise is filling up, almost all rooms are waitlisted.

good luck to all and happy sailing!

We leave in a week.  No notification yet.

And likely you paid Applebee prices for your cruise, so it’s not a fair comparison.  The food at Luminae, the restaurant for suite guests, is the one to compare with Silversea.

Yes, it was a inexpensive cruise.  But if my choice is silversea or crystal or a suite on celebrity, for ME my choice is clear.

The one exception to X pricing is on the M-class ships, where the PH Suite is still reasonably priced and comes with a 1,100sqft veranda with 120 degree view.  Just my (non-inflationary) two cents.

We sailed this winter on an M-class ship.  Came home sold my stock and said NEVER AGAIN.  WE FOUND THE FOOD DREADFUL.  We were not in suite class.  It was like sailing and eating at applebees every night.

sorry i sold my stock tho as it has gone up, and it appears SS may now offer the credit.
