  1. Hello everyone and Good Luck to us all in this step in the right direction to better health! Firstmate63, we are also cruising in October and is also our primary vacation this year. I have Hypothroidism so I struggle just losing a few pounds, so rather than concentrating so much of number of pounds lost between now and October, I really want to focus on making healthier choices about food and increasing exercise! We have very port-intensive itineraries, so I need to get in better shape for all the walking! I just turned 61 in April, so I have needed to do this for a while but finally decided if I don't get more focused on MY health, I won't be able to fully enjoy my passion - CRUISING!

  2. Good Luck to us all in this healthy endeavor! We are cruising in October in the new Carnival Vista, so I may not lose a lot of weight before then; however my goal is to increase my energy level by walking! We will also be on Caribbean Princess in Feb of next year, followed by NCL Escape, so hopefully by then there will be less of me boarding the ship!

  3. I totally agree about Orient Beach. We were there 2 weeks ago and the beach was so eroded and there was so much seaweed! I wish our tour guide with Bernard's Tours had informed us so we could have chosen a different beach in St Maarten. We did visit Maho Beach but there were only small planes landing because it was so late when we got there. And the traffic coming back to the ship was AWFUL...took over an hour from Maho Beach to the ship. We will stay in port when we go back in January.

  4. Enjoy! We love Princess! Suits us so much better than the "fun" cruiseline that we are platinum on. We also "dove" in and tried NCL and we are so glad we did! My favorite cruise on Princess was our Alaska and we did the cruise/land package. Princess lodges are amazing and we did several fantastic land excursions, like taking a plane ride over Mt McKinley and landing on a snow-covered glacier! I did snow angels on a GLACIER! My favorite on NCL was Bermuda on Breakaway. We love to cruise and see new places, meet new people, and relax! Heck, when hubby decides to retire, we may sell our house and cruise the WORLD!

  5. We did a back to back the last week of November 2013 on NCL Epic and the first week of December on NCL Pearl, and by far our favorite day was in Ocho Rios Jamaica. I prearranged our tour with Courtney on the internet and we had a wonderful day! We had already been to Dunns River Falls 3 times, so we visited the Irie Blue Hole and we were amazed at how beautiful it was and how hard the guides worked to make sure we had a great day! There were people there when we got there and they had children probably aged 6 to 16 and they had a wonderful time! Would love to take my 11 year old grandson here, he would absolutely love it! We are cruising with him later this year, but will be in Montego Bay and I think that is just too much of a drive to Ocho Rios. Working with Courtney again for that cruise as he also picks up in Montego Bay! Highly recommend Courtney Taylor Tours! :D
