This first happened when I flew first class.  I can't go back to a regular airline seat, not business or premium... solid first class.  I have yet to catch the suite bug.  We are booking 15 nighters plus exploring the other side of the globe.  To book a suite, would decrease my at sea days (plus now I have that dang flight issue, cha chingy).

Cheers to all the suite folks, may you be super spoiled every day on the ship!

I've been trying to find you as I lost your email address. It is time to make final payment. So, please email me, or let me know if you are no longer interested in the Agadir tour.

If anyone is interested I did rent a bicycle at the pier and rode to Marigot. I went on the road with cars. It's about 11km rather than the 9km route I was originally thinking of. It took me about 40 minutes. It's not too bad. There weren't many bicyclists but I did see a few. There was some traffic on the Dutch side close to the French border. There was also sidewalk in that area that I used to go around the waiting cars. It's not hot yet this time of the year.

Trisports told me most people rent their bicycles at the airport. I was able to rent it at the pier because they were giving a bicycle tour for the cruisers. I first did a tour with them for 3 hours in Phillipsburg that I purchased on the ship. The bicycle rental itself was 20 dollars. They told me to lock the bike to the other bikes and take a picture when I return it

I was looking for info on the Historical Philipsburg By Bicycle tour from our ship (Norwegian Viva) that will be in St. Martin on April 10, 2024. It appears that you took a similar 3 hour tour. How were the bikes and would you recommend that tour? We have been to the island many times and that is about the only excursion that interests me.

    Thanks, John

Here's a newer picture from November 2022. The graffiti has been painted over:

The hotel's own website https://dreamsmiramar.com/  describes the property as a "budget hotel" and asks "Are you looking for cheap hotels in Puerto Rico?" so they're being honest...this isn't exactly a luxury property.

Thanks! I don't know why the newer pic didn't show up for me. I found reviews on TAdvisor that were not very flattering. But, seems to be clean and they include a shuttle to the port. So, I'll likely keep the reservation.

  5. We are sailing out of San Juan in April 2024. I looked at hotel prices and was shocked at how high they are. I ended up booking the Dreams Hotel Miramar using Expedia/AARP website for $200ish. The pictures on the booking website looked fine, but a while later I looked at the hotel on Google Maps and was shocked as it had graffiti all over it. The street view picture was taken in Feb 2016. Does anyone know if the hotel has been improved and is the area safe?

  6. Our cabin location is above the infinity pool and bar area. Just forward of that is the Uptown Lounge. Someone posted a video on YouTube saying that the music is very loud until 2:00 AM every morning and they hated it. Their cabin was on deck 13, we are 3 decks below that. Since the lounge is in the interior I would think that the sound would somewhat muted, or is the noise from the Infinity Bar and Pool area? I really wonder if we should change?

Most likely not listed yet as they still need to plan the itinerary's considering that is like 2 years from now

The one after it to Vancouver is posted, which is what caused me to ask.

Well, about 14-18 of those days would be the TransPac to get to Hawaii.  They are probably waiting to see what islands will be available for port calls.

    Determining Port availability makes sense.

I am actually on the sailing ending the 28th.

I am waiting for the next two which should be Australia to Papeete (15 nights)and then Papeete to Hawaii (12 nights).

Check the 2023 sailings and you will see it.

The day count would work perfectly! Thank you! I wanted to book B2B or B2B2B, but after what you posted it might take 1 more segment.

Since we have never been to Aus or NZ, we thought we would do the last two 12-day cruises to see a bit more at each port. Then we would stay on to Honolulu and fly home from there.

  9. We got an email saying our Radiance cruise was canceled. But, when I went to the page to request our refund, I saw that it was for Radiance cruises through 1 Nov 2020. Our cruise is later in November, over Thanksgiving. Guess we will have to wait to find out the real status of our cruise. The Victory is currently sitting in the Navantia shipyard in Cadiz, Spain.

They are sending the crew home until further notice, but not sure if they can get out with Spain on lockdown.

How about a basic tutorial on how to use this new format?   Things like how to post, quote, multi-quote, cutting and pasting,  search, post photo's, etc....

I have already noticed some changes from the old one...

I agree a tutorial would be very helpful! I really like many of the features of the new board, but less computer savvy folks are having a hard time. Our Roll Call has not been nearly as active since the change. Maybe one has been created since Bob posted this 3 months ago. Anyone know?

  11.  So sorry to hear of the problems you had on the Epic! We were on her for 22 days in Apr 2018 and loved her! We enjoyed it so much that we have 4 more NCL cruises booked over the next 14 months.

One thing that impressed me with the Epic was the accessibility of the senior staff. Nelson was the Hotel Director and I would have spoken to him about any issues. We did that on 2 occasions and got the problems fixed and a deluxe plate of chocolate covered strawberries delivered to our room with a note of apology. We had only been on 1 other NCL cruise before that; thus, we had no status, but it didn't mater.

...for each followed thread using https://boards.cruisecritic.com/followed/.

I've been using this to see the threads that I follow. It is the closest to what I used with the old system. But, it doesn't have the page links that allows me to go to the last page. Is there a better place to go to follow the Roll Calls that I am on?

UPDATE: I think I found it - Under Activity I found Activity Streams with a multitude of options. I'm getting a LOT more info than I want. Someone who is following a lot of threads, whould be inundated with information. SIGH! I like most of the changes, but I'll bet a lot of folks would like a [SIMPLIFY] button.

I don't understand!! Do I need to "unsubscribe" and sign in again to start receiving emails again? Would that help????

There are not nearly as many options for already subscribed threads, so I would unsubscribe as you suggested. Be sure you have the overall setting as you want them before resubscribing.

Not quite. The Platinum dinner coupons is per cabin.     The laundry and Behind the scenes is pp.    Carnival gives a way better repeater party. 😀😀😀

Hi Karen, Great to run into you on here! I was thinking about you the other day and wondered how your budget cruising was going. We ended up getting really sick the last few days on the Horizon. Took 3 weeks to get back to normal. We are doing 14 nights on the Pearl in Dec.

Now about the coupons. Since we will both be making Platinum, then we should both get a set of coupons to the restaurants, which would be 4 visits.  If not, that really stinks!

Technically no. But they would never know. You just have a coupon to pay for dinner.

Don’t forget to go to the cruise next desk on embarkation day to sign up for the free behind the scenes tour and note the time of the latitudes party.

Thank you for posting this info! We are on track to be Platinum after our Greek Isle cruise in next May. We are glad to learn that it is for 2...so, we each will get the perk. We are Diamond on Carnival and got ONE trip to the steakhouse for hitting that level of 200 days, not each cruise. The NCL perk is so much better!
