If possible could you post a picture of the draft beer menu in the pub?  I'd like to know what draft beers are available there (I know most of the rest of the ship will just have Heineken, but believe the pub will have more options.

I’m so sorry, I got off the ship before seeing this request.

  2. I’m currently on the MSC Meraviglia. I thought you would all appreciate seeing the current bar menus. Helps to determine which package to purchase. As you can see, both the strawberry daiquiri and pina colada are included on the easy package. Which is often a point of confusion.

Easy package includes drinks up to $7.5

Easy Plus package is up to $9.00

To be clear, the lowest status is “Welcome” with zero points, and the “jump” from 0 to 1 point is potentially worth hundreds of dollars (since it gets you 5% off your very first cruise, skipping the “Welcome” step). Of course in your case since they didn’t bother give your match until after your first cruise, the 1 point is truly just a slap in the face.

Yes thank you. That was my point.

Yes.  Pre-purchasing is much cheaper than on ship.  Only wait to by on board if you (1) have on board ship credit, or (2) if you don't want the packages for the entire length of the cruise - MSC Virtuosa was offering ppl to buy them midway through the cruise, although obv can't guarantee this.

Thank you, this is helpful. We have $200 of onboard credit. I just don’t know the difference in the pre-purchase versus onboard price to determine if it would be worthwhile.

It will tell you the strength of your bid but yeah lowest bid probably won't get it. Did you do a dummy booking to see if any of those cabins are available? Sometimes they let you bid on sold our cabins in case someone cancels last min, in which case you probably won't get it regardless.

As of this morning, I saw two Fantastica  balcony cabins and eight yacht club balcony cabin.

  6. I sail out on Nov 20th (4 days away) and submitted a bid to upgrade to YC yesterday. I plan to purchase a drink and spa package if I do not win the bid.
    1. Does anyone know when (or if) the website will stop selling packages in advance of the cruise?
    2. Will the cost of drink and spa packages increase if purchasing on the ship?
    3. Also, what is the latest date we could be notified of an upgrade?
    4. I only bid $5 over the lowest possible bid, should I bid higher?

What level where you on NCL?  If you had 5 cruises I find it hard to believe that you would be matched to Classic.   I would look at what you sent in with your match request.

I am silver a few points from to gold on NCL. I appreciate it is not significant. The point that I’m making is that MSC put me at the BEGINNING of the “equivalent” status, which is their lowest stats, which means it is like starting over. It’s not an equivalent match.

  8. I sailed with MSC 6 months ago.  5 months before sailing, I completed the status match form (four times because it never seemed to work) having previously sailed with NCL on 5 cruises.  I didn't get status matched prior to my sailing.  Then, immediately AFTER my sailing, I magically received notification that I was matched to Classic and only had 1800 points.  This made no sense to me.  I was thinking that my sailing would have put me into the next category with MSC.  In my mind 1+1=2.  I have been persistent sending at least 10 emails with only ever receiving one very vague email not answering my question.  Well, today my persistence paid off!  Someone responded to me answering my question:

    Good Afternoon HEATHER,

When you complete a status match, you do not bring over the points
you had with the other cruise line. When you match with MSC you
receive the starting amount of points that belong to the tier level
that you were approved for. In your case, you received classic
status which is the first tier level so you only received one point
starting off. You currently have 1900 points due to your past
sailing. Matching with a higher level will get you a higher level
with Msc and more points starting off. For example, Norwegian
Ambassador would have given you Msc Diamond with 10,000 points.
Please keep in mind, Every voyage aboard MSC Cruises as well as
any onboard spending will add points to your account.

So, basically I got 1 point.  ONE point!  LOL!!!!!!  Such a crock.
  9. We were on the Meraviglia in March. While I support the notion that adults may perceive it to be a “joke”, our nine-year-old son actually really enjoyed it! They didn’t cook anything, they cut fruit, and yogurt, and we are judged on how well they decorated cookies.  While they gave great comments to each kid in the judging, ultimately, they didn’t select a true winner, which was a little disappointing. We are not in the “everybody should get a trophy club”. We are going back on the Meraviglia in November, and our son now 10, is looking forward to participating in Master Chef.

Would like to know cost for 1 day if we book onboard

We were on Meraviglia in March. Thermo spa is the second best we have experienced and all of our cruising. It truly is amazing and well worth $130 for the whole week. One day was $60 when we went in March.

  11. Greetings!

I live in Florida and last night I booked the last minute cruise on the Meraviglia for November 20 out of port Canaveral. They didn’t have Fantastica available - only Bella and Aurea. I booked Bella, which is a guaranteed cabin, but wanted Fantastica. By the time I woke up this morning, I was assigned cabin 13064. Additionally, more Fantastica balconies opened up.

    1. It appears 13064 might be a category B3 in Aurea. Can anyone confirm?
    2. Further, if that is the case, will we have the benefits of Aurea?
    3. Does anyone know if the balcony has an obstructed view?

I’m wondering if I it would benefit me to stick with what I have or contact MSC to upgrade to Fantastica instead of Bella.

    your input is greatly appreciated!

    Heather

  12. Run, do not walk to Palancar beach. You won’t regret it. Cute palapa on the beach and free use of chairs and umbrellas with purchase. Five shop on the beach as well.

In Progreso, we did a terrific tour with Yucatan Cenote. I highly recommend this company. We had a small group of just six people with a guide and a driver.

We went to see some Mayan ruins. On my last review, we saw some ruins near Cozumel, and someone asked if you could climb to the top. The answer there was no, but at this one you could climb the ruins.

Then we swam in a cave cenote that was amazing, and almost deserted. It was reached by a narrow, bumpy dirt road that would be impossible for big tour buses so we had the place almost entirely to ourselves, just 3 or 4 other people there. The sun streaming into the water was stunning. This tour cost less than any similar Carnival excursions.

    Here are the ruins.

Hello Becky,do you know the name of these ruins?

  14. I booked balcony fantastica room 12276 on Meraviglia for March 6 back in September. After checking my account, our stateroom and experience remain the same. Only difference is that the category says Deluxe Balcony. I’ve attempted to create a mock booking of the same type of room and the price was only $50 more than what I paid.

Hummm, seems they are clearing out deck 9. We sale 11/13 & got moved to 11 from 9, but no notification. I just happened to see it in the app.

I read on another thread that deck 9 is reserved for COVID quarantine, but of course it’s hearsay

It’s pretty new , although supposedly it’s always been the policy . We got the OBC for our October cruise but just denied for our February cruise ..

I am a shareholder and never knew about getting OBC. How does one go about asking for this?

  17. Thank you so much for the great review!  We will be sailing on Mera on March 6 and very excited. We almost booked the huge balcony but didn’t because I saw a photo and it seemed to be a tunnel. I want to be able to see the ocean when sitting in my bed. So I got the balcony next door 12276 - still larger but not as large. We are two adults and one 10 yo.

    1) Did it bother you being on an angle and able to see inside everyone else’ balcony?
    2) Also, what was the traffic noise like in the hallway being near the stairs and at the beginning of two hallways leading to both balcony and inside rooms. Our room is right next to yours one floor down so I’m curious.

    3) Would love it if you would be so kind as to share a link to the hammock you brought so we can purchase. How did you hang it?

    4) We love secluded beaches to avoid the crowds. It looks like there are at least 6 distinct beaches on Ocean Cay. We’re you able to visit others?  Also, which was the best for snorkeling?

Our cabin was 13280, look at the ship layout when picking your cabin.  Our balcony was 2-3 times the size of a normal balcony because it was at a bend in the ship.  All the balconies in that section are under an overhang which is actually great because it protects from the wind/rain/sun.  I knew the balcony was big so I brought a hammock and slung it up for the week.

We all know that MSC's website is pretty much the worst out there.  I get it.  But before I could "scroll right" on a fare and see an "All In" (with Easy Plus and Wifi Price).  🦃

My phone really has a hard time scrolling to the right on that menu. It was finicky. I just kept trying no don’t know if it’s there for the 3 night sailing. But just wanted to share in case it was a program or code issue with iPhones.
