Mine was from the UK, (I now reside in Canada), but I did not re apply.
john
That may be. I have just had credit applied for our cruise next month, have 2 cruises booked for September but will still have to re apply for them, that's how it works if you reside in the UK. :)
-
We sent in the documents to get the OBC, and when we checked our upcoming cruise we saw the OBC had been applied! My question is whether we automatically get this OBC every time we sail with princess, or do we have to apply again with each cruise?
It all depends where you are from Jaylie, in the UK you have to re apply for every cruise booked.

Saw your location as Portsmouth, and have a question....we're going on a BI cruise this summer and staying 2 nights pre-cruise in Portsmouth to relax and get over jet lag. We'll be staying at the HI Express at Gunwharf Quay during our stay. Is there someplace near the hotel we can buy our wine for in the cabin? We're using National Express for LHR-Portsmouth and Portsmouth-Southampton. I'm not a wine connoisseur by any means, but would enjoy a nice Chardonnay or Riesling in the evening. Hoping you can help.
Hi there. You are in a great location at Gunwharf Quays, the coach station is a 5 minute walk to Gunwharf Quays. As 'dides' has said, there is a Tesco Express right under the HI, it is very small shop but will do wines etc. You are not very far from the main shopping centre of Portsmouth where there is a larger Tesco/Sainsbury's and Morrisons, they will have a larger selection of wines at reasonable prices, you can get there by a short bus ride or walk of about 20 minutes. Or there is a wine merchant very close by in Old Portsmouth, Camber Wines (http://www.camberwines.co.uk) and you can see there wine lists online.
As I have said, you are in a great position for the south coast. Gunwharf Quays used to be an old naval base HMS Vernon, it has now been transformed into apartments, hotels, restaurants, pubs, bars and numerous Outlet Shops.
You are near the Historic Dockyard with HMS Victory, Warrior and Mary Rose ships, well worth a visit. Also do get to Old Portsmouth, where it is full of history, this is where Admiral Lord Nelson hung out, there is also a couple of great pubs there that we use, Still & West and Spice Island. There is also another pub right near the Dockyard gates called The Ships Anson, well worth a glass of Chardonnay or Reisling.
Enjoy your time in Portsmouth and I hope that the weather will be kind for you.

First time with Princess....do they have a price drop guarantee...difference to OBC or reduction in final payment
I know the spin...book early to have choice of cabin etc....
Any advice welcome...thank you:cool:
Hi Freddyboy, I am UK based and only cruise with princess. I assume that you are talking about the price guarantee that P&O give. The short answer is they don't.
I always book early and if the price goes down or benefits are better later on, ie; OBC etc, then I always phone princess and have always got the reduction, even if its for new bookings only, I just argue the case that I am loyal to princess and deserve to be treated fairly.
But they don't come to you, you have to contact them. Also do not expect your TA, if you have one, to do the checking for you. In my experience, I have always found princess in the UK reasonable.

On our recent cruise there was 3 x $100 vouchers from our TA in our cabin when we boarded, this was then automatically added to our account. :)

We were on the Crown this year and there wasn't one. I think you will find they have done away with them.
-
I think that the world is doing their part to help in this terrible disaster, it just takes time to get the resources in place.
I am sure that Princess are doing all they can to help their staff.

Forgive me if this has been covered before but, we are considering booking Ocean Princess sailing in July 2014 but prices are a little steep right now. However, as it is such a small ship and we will need two cabins is it wise to book now or wait for a significant price drop? If we book now, at what point do we not have any hope of a price drop being honoured?? We are from UK and I am not clear on policies. Please could someone in the know enlighten me?
Many thanks in advance.
We have argued many a price drop with Princess and got them even when the policy is for New Bookings only.
Normally you can do it up to the final payment date.
I normally book direct with Princess and then pass it to a TA depending on what offer they are prepared to give me. The one thing that I have found is TA's don't like to argue with Princess if a price drop takes place, they tend to say that Princess do not negotiate, but they do. I normally have to push them to get it.
If you do pass it to a TA, Princess do not like to talk to you direct re price drops, they quote 'Data Protection', I have negotiated price drops with Princess and at least got the assurance that we qualify, then asked the TA to sort it out.
Don't be frightened to ask, you have nothing to loose.
I hope a bit of this helps.

I have been on the Crown 3 times this year and sailed out of the Mayflower, Ocean and into the Queen Elizabeth.
Princess do not have their own specific terminal, you will need to check with Princess.
Perhaps by emailing Princess UK might help enquires@princesscruises.co.uk :)

On a recent cruise on the Crown we stopped in Gibraltar, a lot of passengers were buying duty free locally, when returning to the ship they were asked to hand it over and Princess stored it until the end of the cruise, then handed it back, which seems fair enough.

We were on the Crown in May in E323 - bed on side wall as you enter and had a clear view was between lifeboats, it was a good cabin :)

I got this e-mail yesterday from Princess about my Oct. cruise on the Royal. If you are buying CCL stock for the OBC, nothing is guaranteed.

should be made at least two weeks prior to cruise departure date.Reservations must be made by February 28, 2013.
Starting 1st March information will appear about the next benefit for sailings through to December 2013.
We will be applying in the next couple of weeks for our cruises in August and September 2013

Diamond: 12/14/12 - 14 day South Pacific - No

Looks like Golden, Island, Ocean, Pacific and Sapphire offer the packages, Crown, Emerald, Grand and Star don't and your guess is a good as mine for the Ruby. Hopefully the Diamond will continue offering after problems last year.[/quote
IECal Cruiser,
Many thanks for info. We all know that things can differ ship to ship and by varying crew. Thanks for gathering the info.
We appreciated having the Wine Package on the Pacific on Dec 2, 2012. We were a lively group of 8 and the package simplified ordering if we stuck to the Silver. Didn't miss anything of everyone's day that way and the selections were fine for dinner. We all purchased our Packages while we had our reunion drink at the Pool Bar so had the cards to take to the dining room. Each night went smoothly when ordering and that way we could decide on #'s of red or white depending on who was having what.
Also must comment that compared to other lines we find Princess wine selections reasonable and with a decent selection. Will try the upgrading on our upcoming cruise if we are fortunate enough to have it available on the Grand.
The Star did have the wine package 12/02/12 to 01/05/13 South America.
-
Yes it includes all the wine on the list, there is no special list.
The Silver Package includes wine up to $29/bottle.
It also states 'Wine package cards are valid at all dining locations on this voyage and vessel. Bars and Room Service are not eligible in this program'
You can only use it on the voyage you are on, unlike the Coffee Card, where, if you have not used it up, you can take it with you and use it on a different Princess ship at a later date.
-
If Princess is to be believed, the Dawn, Sea and Sun are not offering the packages and the Caribbean has only been doing 7 day cruises since September (The 10 day on 10/31 was shortened by hurricane Sandy and doesn't count). The only ship that I need info from is the Coral to have a complete list for now. Looks like Diamond, Golden, Island, Ocean, Pacific and Sapphire offer the packages, Crown, Emerald, Grand and Star don't and your guess is a good as mine for the Ruby.
Thanks to all and please continue to provide updated info, especially if there is a change.
We were on the Star around South America last December 2012 and the wine package was available then.

I had problems until on the personalized page I opened the welcome email I received from princess president after booking my cruise. In that email was an option to cleanup the old site and a place to check to download new version after cleanup. I did that even tho I did not have an old version. After cleanup it took a while but eventually the download option came up. Make sure you hit open and not save. When I tried to just download without cleanup, I too, got the flash 9 MSG. Which I already had installed. Hope this works for you. If I inadvertently click it off I have to do the whole process. All over again.
Thank you for this, followed your advice from the Captains email, used the cleanup tool, downloaded the latest verion of Adobe and the widget downloaded straight away.

Hi, I hold mine in Equinity Share Dealing in an Investment Account and there is no annual cost. I paid a small dealing fee when I bought them.
