  1. Technically, nothing (except morals) is stopping anyone from taking the envelope with your keys and switching them or throwing them out.

However, that’s all they can do.

There are security measures in place to prevent a guest from using someone else’s card for purchases. For example, if someone takes your card and you haven’t boarded the ship, the card won’t have a photo associated with it so they will know it’s not that other person’s. Alternatively, if you’ve boarded the ship and someone takes your card to use your photo will come up. As soon as you enter the terminal, your picture is taken and linked to your card. No issues with that.

Also, no one can take anything from your room because none of your belongings are there until you arrive.

If the sealed envelope appears to be tampered with just let GS know.

    thank u so much

  2. The times I have sailed they have been firm with check in times. There is a separate line for those who get there outside their appointment arrival time and it’s outside. If you are Diamond/Platinum/FTTF, or have a Suite then you don’t have to follow your time. Otherwise good chance you will be waiting in the elements. There were a whole bunch of people in that line in October. Someday people will learn to follow the rules.

You also don’t receive your S&S card at check in anymore. They will be outside your cabin in the mailbox at the appropriate time depending on the ship.

hi, just want to kno....if the cards are in your mailbox how are they protected? what stops someone from going in your mailbox and removing your cards?

  3. Not a tender port :) everyone is correct that the port itself is very nice and has plenty to explore. DH and I have done an excursion in Amber Cove, too; an all-inclusive resort beach day. Beaches and island itself have pretty areas.

Hi, do u remember how much u paid for the all inclusive resort beach day?

  4. We are booked on the Horizon in July. We are in an Aft Extended balcony Family Harbor (FO).

They are a new cabin catagory.

I am hoping as the reviews come in in April, they are favorable! Our family stayed in Aft-Balcony before and we love them.

    Good luck

Hi, curious to know which July sailing r u on? My family and I are on the 23. I too am waiting for actual reviews. Happy Cruisin'

  5. Sailed out of NYC twice. First time, July 2016, we arrived around noon and were on the ship by 12:30. I do think we had FTTF, but even if we didn’t, there weren’t many lines at all. In July 2017, they were delayed disembarking the previous cruise, so there were some crazy lines. My frind bumped into a high school buddy who was a porter. He walked us past several crazy lines to check in, but then we waited around an hour to board even with FTTF. There was a huge wedding party that was boarding before us, so that caused some backups as well.

Sorry that didn’t really actually answer your question ;p. Just wanted to show it can really vary in NYC. Hope with the streamlined embarkation process (no pics, cards at mailbox) we don’t have to sait too long to start our fun.

Thank u so much, it gave me a good idea of how the day can go.

  6. Florida departures are pretty much a consistent 11-11:30 boarding because most ships dock very early in the morning (many times before 6am). NY can be more unpredictable based on itinerary, weather etc. When we cruised out of NY a few years ago...we arrived around 9am...It was great coming up Hudson in early morning passing Statue of Liberty and seeing skyline. But as you would expect the terminal was a mess as was traffic around the pier with late disembarking and new passengers ready to board. This was before staggered check-in

thank u, that's why I asked because this staggered check-in is new to me.:D:D:D

  7. No one can accurately answer your question because boarding times vary greatly from ship to ship, port to port and even week to week. There are many variables that will affect when passengers are allowed to board: weather (which can delay docking), the number of customs agents working, what ports the ship is returning from, how well prepared exiting passengers are, etc. Ships sometimes board as early as 10:00 a.m. and normally no later than 1 p.m. But some storms and fog in southern ports have delayed boarding for many hours or even days.

    thank u

  8. Don't rent chairs from the locals that put their chairs in front of the Cruise Center Chairs (Green umbrella that says Grand Turk Cruise Center.) The Green Umbella chairs and back all the way to the pool are free. The locals charge $25 for for their 2 chairs (most stolen from Carnival-the same as the free chairs) and umbrella . They will be waiting for you when you arrive on the beach. Don't fall for their scam and use the Carnival provided free chairs with the Green Umbrella.

    thank u for that information

  9. Hi,

Does anyone know a way to download the Hub app on a kindle? I cant find it in the app store.

Speaking of cruise apps ( besides shipmate), what are other good apps?

    Thanks!

I have a kindle. I'm using it to answer it question right now:D.. Download the 1mobile market app from the Amazon Store then once it's downloaded open it up and download the Carnival Hub App from there. That's how I got mine and I use it everyday for my countdown. Good Luck.:D
