  1. So I called back a couple of days after first call and asked for Resolutions, spoke to Josh, had to send him our email received from RCCL and with a phone call about 1 hour and 20 minutes, he came back took my phone number and today 3 days later we did get a call from a lady in Revenue who apologized several times for the how wrong our future stay was handled. She had already reserved another suite in Star Class for us and we did get upgraded to Grand Panoramic Suite - 1 bedr with price protection. No one can really handle this kind of situation except Revenue. So while I initially called to just make sure we were really given our best choice, we are pleasantly surprised by how this was really taken care of. Back to Star Class we go. Thank you Royal!!! 🥰

It doesn’t sound like they worked with you at all. That’s disappointing. I am in that sailing with some friends in the 2 bedroom gs. See you on board!

my allure sailing where I have the up is in the med so it looks like they won’t put me in another star class room without having to pay.

Not at all, the rep we got had no clue what we were talking about and we called phone # in email. He had us on hold several times and wasn't authorized for anything extra, it was disappointing. Never had Star class before, we understand they are not doing upgrade but priceprotection for the deal we had with booking UP would have been nice. So my take on reading here is some get to keep deal/suite and some don't. I was thinking at least throw in drink package but not even that. We did switch to CL and it is cheaper but that wasn't what we booked or wanted to start with. LOL We did book the chill island cabana in good time at least. See you onboard! Update with what you get/didn't get, maybe you will get a phonecall from an authorized rep handling the switches 🙂

The letter is just a standard letter telling you to call or that they will call you.  I wouldn’t wait for the letter or them to call.  I would call the number in the letter that has been posted.

We did call the number in email received and rep who got call had no clue to what we were calling for, kept say UP is not being built, you understand that? His wording plus choppy phone line, spent over an hour with no supervisor available more then through Skype for him. Oasis was the switchover we could make but the itinerary and star class is what we had booked on Allure. Could have let us have drink package imho 😉

Was this for a Texas or Med sailing?  Still unacceptable as the crown loft isn’t a star class. I am booked and waiting to hear. I had a friend who had one booked for the med and they switched her to an A1.

Caribbean out of Pt Canaveral Oct 31 2021, we got nothing, no price protection, nothing, cheaper price, yes, but we had an awesome deal for the UP including drink package, gratuities and Genie. The only one they had would cost us $4000 more and a different sailing on Allure

  5. I'm sorry you didn't love it as much as we did on our first cruise with RCCL and Oasis in November last year.

We had no problems at all but our experience might have been different, we only dined in MDR on My Time Dining the first night, we did Windjammer for breakfast or Coastal Kitchen (we were in a suite for the first time too). We had several dinners in the specialty restaurants. Chops, Giovanni's, Sabor and Johnny Rocket's and once Windjammer for dinner.

I had a drink package for myself, $35 a day, DH had the Royal replenish as he really doesn't drink much and we bought some drinks out right that weren't included.

We were on deck 11 in a GS.

Never thought it was really crowded anywhere except after muster drill and after shows, of course on disembarkment day.

Loved the Oasis and would in a heart beat go again.

Maybe Mid November had something to do with lack of crowdness, we sailed with 6K, max is more.

Then again, we all experience our cruises differently. :)

  6. We booked our specialty dining way before cruise and was told onboard it wouldn't show untill we had finished all our dining during the cruise.

We never received our onboard credit.

Could be because we cancelled one reservation onboard and switched it to another, but imo it still should have been credited?

Last specialty dining we had was Chops for last night before disembarking but never got a statement next morning.

Not complaining, just informing it doesn't always work and at this point it doesn't really matter. I do think it was 20% off price of meals towards onboard credit if you book before cruising but I could be remembering it wrong.

  7. I really can't put my finger on it, the difference of the two cruise lines and only speaking for myself, it is almost like a little more "umph" or a tad more "sparkle" to RCCL. I love Carnival for the laidback family feel but felt different on Oasis on our first cruise with them in November. And only thanks to DH who has been wanting to try this huge ship since it first came out. It was his turn to pick.

We're going again next year with RCCL, he loves it more then I do but I am catching on quickly.

Will know after this next one more of a way describing the difference.;)

  8. I can say on our trip not all seats were taken at all on any show we went to in the "suite only" sections. For the Ice show it is the rows are the first two down on the left side walking in. Depending of course on how many are wanting to watch the show when you decide to go I think the possibilities of sitting together are just fine. :)
