  1. Embark April 1st on Divina. It is spring break for my kids' school. Just wondering what types of organized entertainment the staff has for kids in this range. Can't picture him sitting there and finger painting with the youngsters, nor can I picture him standing around a teen club slipping on a virgin Piña Colada.

I know he'd be interested in the arcade and 4D theater, but would probably get bored after a couple hours of that. Plus they cost more and there's only so many quarters I'm willing to dish out!

Here is a link on their website that tells you all the different activities for each age group: https://www.msccruisesusa.com/en-us/Cruise-Information/Family.aspx

  2. We cruise both lines. Princess has an older crowd, less children, on some ships Princess has the International Cafe and Vines. Princess has this awful new restaurant called "Share" by Curtis Stone. Food is subjective as some will say, BUT, I believe Carnival has better tasting food than Princess. Princess decor is more subtle than Carnival. Carnival has more bling, and Carnival is more lively. Princess has lots of people who use walkers and motorized scooters that you are constantly having to dodge. We enjoy both lines. We book with whoever has the best deal going at the time we want to cruise. Princess I think has some better deals than Carnival.

Did you try Share? I was on Ruby last week and after a Share wine tasting, I decided I had to eat there. The food was fabulous. So many unique flavors that can't be judged by just reading the menu. Share turned out to be the highlight of my cruise, food wise :)

  3. I was on this cruise and agree with a lot of what you said. The service was great . My husband said he didn't want to go on princess anymore because the food options were not good in the buffet and nothing stood out to him as excellent, food wise. I told him the newer ships probably have more selection. This was his 1st princess cruise. He was often comparing our last few cruises to this one.

I would take princess again, this was my third with Princess. I would probably choose the newer ships next time.

  4. Good Grief! Are you the same person telling John Heald of carnival that people with a cold should stay home?

If you are vomiting and have diarrhea, stay home. If you have allergies or a sore throat or small cough with no fever, not that big of deal. Bring some medicine most all people are carrying around something. Germs and bacteria live on our bodies, you can't escape it.

Wash your hands regularly and don't sneeze on anyone.

This paranoia is getting out of control thanks to the media blowing everything of of proportion

  5. I just sit on the toliet (lid down:D), put some of the spa lotion provided in the bathrooms on my legs and shave away...when done wipe legs. IMHO, much safer and easier than trying to balance yourself in the shower.

I have done something similar!! Easier on the back too.

  6. Many years ago......one night our son showed up at the table in the MDR for dinner with a new ring on his finger! He was 11 and it was $800. Needless to say we made a trip right back to the shop onboard to return it! I had their cards shut off for charges....period.

OMG to funny!! Although in the moment, I would not have been laughing

  7. Yes, you can place a limit on their cards down at the customer service desk. You can also go down and take off the credit card and simply put their cash down. When the cash on the account is spent there can be no more charging.

That is exactly what I wanted to hear. My step son is addicted to games. On a cruise we did a year and a half ago he spent all his money on the first day, in the arcade.....ugh. His sister is the frugal one, she usually has money left.

  8. OMG!!!! Funny story about our first family cruise. So we were stationed with the AF in Hawaii. Hubby deployed overseas from there for 6 months making some good extra money that we squirreled away to treat all our family to a nice, 2 week cruise for Christmas.

When we got our final "bill" (and back then, it was delivered the last day of the cruise, not available with a simple swipe of your card as is today), we had about a $300 charge to our 9 yr old SON'S card that we could not imagine!!! When asking him, seems he had been "giving my card to get my friends drinks because they were free".....LOL

He had NO idea they were being charged, and we all had a great laugh over it!!!!!

That is funny, but maybe not the moment you find out LOL.

  9. Are you going on NCL? This is a Princess board. I'm not sure if NCL has limits or not. You might want to ask the same question over there.

Why would you think I am going on NCL? We did go on the NCL Getaway last Oct. (Ship was to darn big IMO) but we have a cruise on the Ruby Princess April 8.
