I'm told Bonaire is good for snorkeling. We LOVE to snorkel so the A-B-C islands are a must for us. I'd pick 2.
Bonaire is great for snorkeling. We saw 5 of 6 sea turtles last time...

We stayed at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina. Woke up in the morning of our departure, looked out the window at our ship (sailing on Princess that time). Kind of pricey but IMHO, worth it to do once...

Carnival Journeys is a limited series of special sailings that’s made to amaze, starting with great destinations like Bermuda, Hawaii, Alaska and the Caribbean.

We bought $1600 worth to pay for B2B Cheers, paid $1440. We applied them at home on the CCL website, easy peasy.
We did this too with $2400 on one cruise to pay for the cruise and paid $500 on another cruise to buy Cruise Cash to use on the Cruise for fun stuff.

Definitely love the Southern cruise! And I would choose Horizon over Magic just because there are more things to do plus Havana Cabanas

Be sure to check AARP tomorrow ( or maybe Tuesday because of Holiday). When they run out they usually restock on Mondays.
Good to know! Thanks for the tip!

I don't see the Carnival Gift Cards on AARP anymore...

Great review! Thanks!

My advice would be to make your selection based on itinerary. Unless their is one particular ship you just have to go on...

Thanks for your review! We were on the Splendor to the Mexican Riviera last year on Spring Break and had an awesome time!

We will be cruising on the Fascination out of San Juan in June. When we look for a cruise, we make a selection based on itinerary. I'm not excited about the ship and I've turned down sailing out of San Juan because the airfare before was always high. For some reason, we found a direct flight on American Airlines that is very reasonable. We really want to to visit the many islands the cruise goes to.

My wife and I are Platinum on Princess and about to do our fourth Cruise on Carnival, on the Vista which is same class as Horizon. Our very first cruise was on the Magic and we loved it. We've done quite a bit of cruising the last few years.
Based on all the research I've done on the Vista class ships, I would recommend the Horizon over the Magic. The Magic is a nice ship but I think your family will enjoy the Horizon even more. Also, if you are used to balcony staterooms, you might want t consider the Havana Cabanas on the Horizon!

Awesome! Thank you!Wow, maybe one of the best tips I’ve ever gotten on Cruise Critic

We have always used our AARP Carnival Gift Cards as onboard credit. Can we use them to pay on the balance of our booked cruise? I tried asking the question in the Carnival FAQs, but kept getting an error message on forms of payment.
When you are on their website on the page to pay for the cruise, it defaults to the crest card. Just click on the gift card tab to pay using gift cards. Easy peasy...
Which itinerary?

We used a company for our excursion called Woodwind. Just google "Woodwind snorkel Bonaire". They are very good. They had enough guides to take us out in groups of 8 to 10 people. We snorkeled in 3 different spots. It was an awesome experience. Best snorkeling we've ever done.
