  1. I also use 2.5 gallon ziplock bags. Place like items together folded and squeeze the air out. No more wrinkles than what they went in with. Lol. Keeps clean/dirty separated during the trip.

Packed my kids clothes in "outfits" for camp to vacation and took away a lot of discussion/arguments. Everyone manages their own bags and we take one checked each and one carry on each. Youngest son insists on taking full size hair/personal products. Your bag dude!! I carry travel size mouse and hair spray but rely on hotels/cruise line for shampoo, etc. take sample size products and the minimum where I can.

This works for me and my family. Took several trips to figure it out (and convince my family!). YMMV lol I like planning our activities and excursions so we have a general outline of necessary clothing. Enjoy your trip!

  2. Another vote for Stingray Sailing. After reading about them on Trip Advisor we booked with them andthey really lived up to the billing. When Capt. Chip brought the boat to the bar the stingrays started coming to his boat. Now there were already a few boats there some with a large number of passengers but we only had 8 of us that day. Once in the water the rays continued to swarm us. They were basically only at his boat! His mate who was fantastic, shame i forget his name had names for about 8 of them...truly amazing. Another post mentioned how they treat the rays and that is so important. They looked at other people and how they let their passengers man handle the rays and just shook their heads. A snorkel stop followed our stop with the rays. If we were ever to back to Grand Cayman and want to do the rays, we would not think twice about going with Stingray Sailing!

We are sailing with Chip next week. Hoping for good weather. We are a family group of 7 so wouldn't mind a few more on the catamaran but a "private" would be fun!! Cannot wait!

  4. Just got off the liberty. They were offering. $149 on board. The guy I was talking to onboard said that they were offering the $99 special before you cruise. He said that they were trying out price points. Great buy either way!

Thanks for the info. Any feedback on the Internet - speed and any specials onboard?

  5. Suggest you book something for each port but they are always 50/50. Weather generally limits a number of excursions. We have been on 3 cruises in Alaska inside passage and each were amazing. We have used Harv & Marv in Juneau. Small boats and amazing wildlife. It's all beautiful.

  6. If you happen to attend any of the shows, please give us the names and your opinion of the guest entertainers for the week. Thanks. Have fun!

We sail on August 7. I sent an email to web_reservations@rccl.com about entertainment and received the following info:

  7. Pre-cruise: Donna was truly great at her job, and as a soap box, that I'll throw in now and get it over with:

Please be nice to the cruise employees! They are so nice, and a few times I heard people really talk down to them. Ask them about their family. Ask them how they started working on cruise ships. And just use some dang manners and remember they all have cultural differences but they are trying very hard the vast majority of the time. They sacrifice a lot to have these jobs and to make our vacations amazing. Everyone we talked with was happy to share their story, tell us of their home, and what life is like on a cruise ship. Most that we talked to had children at home, were gone for 6-7 1/2 months at a time, and said this was a better option to provide for their families than the options available to them at home. So in summary, I know they're doing their jobs, but being kind and showing you care goes a long way for people who don't see their loved ones often and make a lot of sacrifices to work hard and provide. End of rant. <Steps off soap box to continue with review.>

THIS. Exactly. Nice doesn't cost a dime. Just be kind!! Can't wait to read more. We leave in 12 days.

Thanks in advance!! Hope you've conquered the laundry!!

  8. We are sailing next summer on the Liberty with the same itinerary, and I found Cruise Compasses from July 2016. They are on a non-offical RCCL-type blog, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the link. (I'm fairly new to this site and not super familiar with all of the rules.) Maybe someone could let me know if I'm allowed to post the link or you could try googling what I just mentioned. I just didn't want to get in trouble... : )

Thank you! That worked! Correct itinerary and current.

    Cheers!!

  9. I'm going to add my 2c worth here as I took my daughters friend along on our last cruise with RCI.

Email them and ask them to provide you with the form they require. Then have that form completed. It is a specific consent form and requires the signatures of both parents, notarised, and will then cover all activities and medical treatment if required.

I would then take several copies of the form. The sports deck lost their copy twice and I had to keep providing another in order for her to take part in Flowrider, Rockclimbing etc.

Can't imagine the cruise would have been much fun for her if I'd not taken the extra copies.

Just reiterating this advice. Also suggest copies of the nephews' passports with each set of adults. Notarized letters from parents for treatment/transportation and insurance cards. Just additional documented permission when taking kids that aren't your own out of the country.

    Enjoy the trip. Cheers!

  10. How do you know which tours are on a Catamaran?

Researching their websites, these boards and other travel sites.

We want a catamaran experience with a smallish group. A couple of folks in our group haven't been on a catamaran.
